  • KILLER BASS!

  • Which version is better?

    This or ickb2006 versions?

  • McCartney's bass playing is unreal in this song.

  • @wrh1984 Check out "hey Bulldog" that bitch is off the hook!

  • Its so fine its sunnnnnshine

  • SAY IT SAY IT SAY IT,, LOVE LOVE LOVE, ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

  • Perfection!!! THE BEATLES ARE OUTSTANDING AND STILL BLOW AWAY TODAY'S MUSIC!

  • I think this album was their first hint of it.

  • I like the Beatles like the next guy, but I had to do a history class thing on them and, sadly, found out they used drugs. I mean, they wrote great songs and all, but the drugs were bad for them. :/ Too much fame and the seriousness the fans took them made them have no choice but to do it. Most famous rock stars do this, too.

    -sigh-

  • @Rollinappler274 I would suspect that much of the world's great works of the 20th century have been shaped by some type of narcotic. Jazz, blues, rock music, etc. have been shaped by drugs in some way or another. I'd say some of what we regard as classic literature and poetry have been influenced by drugs, too.

  • @Rollinappler274 Next thing you discover is that santa doesn't exist.

  • I fell in love with this song around last year. I was listening to Pop/Rock Beatles (the early stuff), and then I played this and it was very refreshing

  • I like how they edited drive my car the word and what you doing on new love almbum

  • this song was in my dream last night...

so was ringo. BEST DREAM EVER!!

  • the first beatles song in which I paied attention to the bass line as an amateur....

  • Comment removed

  • i'm a beatles fan but their catalogue overwhelms me where I might be off base, but do you think that this is an excellent example of their ability to sing harmonies? I have never heard such a HIGH note.

  • Anyone else see the resemblance between 0:29-0:36 and the first verse of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"? Just saying..

  • @CardingtonLZF pls dont tarnish their memory with such a comparison..

  • I only like The Beatles songs, or one with an ex-Beatle in it. (Wings, George Harrison, etc.) I am 100% loyal!

  • anybody noticed the reggae feelin in this song from rythmic guitar of george and of course the lyrics

  • @ColdOasisU2 I would call it very funky. I remember in the 70's when disco was huge I was thinking someone should cover this track as it is really a disco sounding song. It's incredible considering when it was done.

  • I love the sarcasm in this song.

  • I love the Beatles but I've said it before, the rice shaker and tambourine dominate on the entire album (Jesus please forgive me)

  • Bass!!!

  • 0 dislikes... that's what I'm talking about! :D

  • you could do The Jerk Dance to this song all day long baby! :)

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE RUBBER SOUL ALBUM, CAN'T HAVE A FAVORITE, BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE, I MIGHT PICK RUBBER SOUL AS MY FAVORITE!!

  • This is a top middle period Beatles track here!

  • The ONLY word is love. Not the bird (:

  • a song we don't hear often enough!! peace2u! eric

  • before they wrote this, they smoked a lot of marijuana

and after writing the song, they started to do some funny draws with vivid colors

  • @PrankedMuffin93 John and Paul were actually smoking when they wrote it, and the original lyrics were multicolored.

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say The Doors

You say Hannah Montana, I say The Rolling Stones

You say Owl City, I say Led Zeppelin

You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Beatles

You say Justin Bieber, I say Queen

You say Taylor Swift, I say AC/DC

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die

  • @JPMistheBestBeatle Good thinking!!!!!!!

But can we have a variety? I like Gorillaz AND Beatles. I like a bit of Lady Gaga AND Pink floyd.

  • @fsklrk That's not the point.

  • @JPMistheBestBeatle I say, rather than focusing on the hype surrounding the artist, just focus on their music and if you like it, listen to it.. whether it be Lady Gaga or Nick Drake, it it makes you happy, then listen to it :)

  • I've loved this song ever since it first came out. The Beatles are cool.

  • 1:10

George: I don't need to row, I'll just make the boat move with my mystical guitar skills.

  • 1:31

now that i know what i feel must be right

i'm here to show everybody the light..... love that line, lennon truly was the spokesperson for a generation

  • B-b-b-bird, bird, bird...

    Wait what?

  • I'm confused.. is the word love or bird?

  • @BeatriceBeautykiller It might be both,(the dove) ....peace on earth...please...this is not a dress rehearsal.

  • I think the Beatles were exploring "love" - universal and personal - in '65 when "The Word" was released. They were becoming more individual, more determined, and more ambitious. At the same token, striving to understand what love means. And this was two years before The Summer of Love would manifest (1967).

  • Good Ringo´s beat :)

  • say the word or save the word?? i dont understant this part, well i love the songs of the beatles, its so better this song is really good

  • @Spartan7890ykza say the word... the word is love... :)

  • Paul's gettin funky on that rickenbacer!

  • RUBBER SOUL YEAHCI LOVELKE IT UH UH UH YEAAAAAAAHHHHH

  • this song is so great!!

    a completely underrated beatles song

    can't get enough of it

  • John' vocals are so impassioned they make make Kurt Cobain sound like Perry Como

  • i just love the funk and groove in this master piece!!!!!!!!!

  • The bird is not the word!

  • @mortalcombatisk The word is love

  • @mortalcombatisk dude u are so fricken right, the next time my friend says that i will them that the word is love!

  • @mortalcombatisk Why would the bird be the word? Oh, because they rhyme? Lol.

  • Wow, this a hot song. My kind of song. Total hippie grooviness! I love The Beatles! <3

  • Not one Beatle song sounds exactly like another...the fate of so many less creative artists. and this was before Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, White Album......

  • @sohooded

You are EXACTLY right! The Beatles were so incredibly great because every song was different than the next. Not many bands if any were as creative as the Beatles were.

  • @westy40 I know...I know..Thanks for your comment. There's good reason why they were and still are the greatest band of all time, The Beatles Rule!

  • @westy40 A band that has one genius is really lucky. The Beatles had two. Lennon and McCartney. Each complimented the other almost perfectly.

  • @blacbraun I agree completely! If you think about it.. it's almost like a miracle that those two met . What are the chances really. George Harrison was no slouch either.

  • In Johns words, this song was about getting smart. The marijuana period. Love. Love and Peace. The word is "Love"......right?

  • The grooviest Beatles song ever!!!

Dig those vocal three part killer harmonies.....swinging beat....truly a thing of wonder!!!!

  • ROCK ON BEATLES

  • It's so fine, it's sunshine...it' the word Love!

  • So fine.

  • Nice pictures!
