If you really understand inferential stats and probabilities, the gov/med research doesn't stand up, nor is there real scientific evidence that they prevent disease, it's all profit motive. Yes. Epidemics come and go. If an epidemic wanes while vaccination programmes are carried out, the vaccine is credited with the decline, even though it may have had nothing to do with the vaccine whatsoever. Wrong, Polio was reduced from hundred of thousands of cases per year of polio before the salk vaccines to around 1000 per year today. That is a huge success. As of 2006, polio is only endemic in 4 countries, while being eradicated in the rest of the world.

Our ancestors were completely fine? Just go back 50 years when people rushed to the hospitals to get the first vaccinations available to defeat for example the 1:1000 mortality in measles. The HepB vaccine lasts at least 23 years. Also, Before the hepatitis B virus vaccine, every year in the United States about 18,000 children were infected with hepatitis B virus by the time they were 10 years old. Only half of those got it from their mothers. The rest caught it from classmates, day care providers, etc. HepB infection in early life is a certain death sentence.

One major route of transmission of Hep B that is being ignored is the vertical route, from an affected mother to her unborn child.

The birth dose is give when the mother is positive for Hep B or if her status is unknown.

The immune system of a child is not fully mature @ birth, and some protection is given by maternal immune globulins for about 6 months.
