Great system, but why oh why no "off" button. Once you get stuck in deep snow (parking after night off snow) it's impossible to get out because the damn system won't allow wheelspin. Protection is good, interference is bad.. So lexus... Add a freaking button!
i've got it, in the snow, with thermich tyre, this car is amazing, one time, in mountain in winter snow everywhere.. a turn 80° at 60 km/h i was supposing to crash into guard rail..but....pipipipp...the miracle was came!! but nver play with this things..the second time you may be fucked.. salute from italy
VDIM is a wonderful thing and I've had the opportunity to drive the wheels off an IS, GS, RX & LS with this system and it does work amazingly well. A few thing to remember though ... You're driving a nearly 2 ton vehicle on 4 rubber tires.... These systems can make you feel like a hero but they can't rewrite physics. I've found these systems work best when used "unintentionally" ... playing with it could be like kissing a Cobra.
I'm going into automotive safety, and VDIM is unlike anything on the road today. It's been called by many the 'second generation' of stability control. Toyota/Lexus does a fine job of designing predictive safety technologies that work so seemlessly they act before a bad situation even has the chance to occur.
You'd be surprised by how many time it will kick in during winter use, even if you are driving cautiously... But it does it so seemlessly, I have a Subaru B9 Tribeca, and it is one amazing SUV... Wish I had a hybrid though, maybe I will look into a Camry Hybrid...
Extremely dangerous, and wreckless...I wish someone would have called the cops.
Goes to show you every moron should not have a luxury car

What if you have to avoid an obstacle? Will VDIM prevent you from using the steering wheel?

I have this VDIM on my 09" Toyota Camry Hybrid and it's a lifesaver. Should be on every car!

Lexus's stability control system is incredible. The driving characteristics of this vehicle in the snow are simply amazing.

would have been funny if the system failed and you went sideways into a tree or house, haha.

not funny....

Not funny, just fitting. Deliberately driving recklessly is never a good idea. The car's computer obviously has more sense than its driver.

Wow! I just bought a 400h. I hope to never use my VDIM, but I'm glad to see how well it works!
