Thanks for taking the time with your review I just about ordered this pack today. Now that I watched your review my mind is made up to purchase one. Their is a spray on dye used in car interiors that allows you to pick almost any color that seems like it would work just fine, I don't care for red either. Cheers & Good review....
Beast! Saw the intro of the video with the flashing lifegear light and heard the music and thought it was going to be a great review, look up, and of course it's you, lol. OK, well, I have the Ruffwear booties (You can't imagine the heat on the pavement here in Phoenix) and I like them, but the Velcro system leaves something to be desired. Now on this pack, I saw a guy who covered the entire water badder with duct tape, and it seemed like a good idea, thought I would pass that along. ~Kev~
You have this uncanny knack for always having a gear review for my next considered purchase. Our new pup will be in training for this pack. Very helpful, thanks!
That is cool. I have a pack that I use for camping with my dogs as well, but not as nice as your pack. I always made the dog carry his own food. I never thought about floatation.
the dry bag is a great idea. i also like the velcro attachment on the bottom underside of pouches. both will be added to my 2 dogs packs. we have the outward hound packs and the ruffwear shoes. one of my dogs likes to disappear so his is bright red. my wife has had luck with rit dye to change the color of the military denim bags perhaps you could experiment with changing the color that way.
Great review!! We have the same Ruffwear Palisades combo, and i think it the best! Good harnas, nice packs and yes you are right on the waterpacks, they forgot some attachments for that, but they still don't leak after 1 year of use, also with longhaired dogs (new foundlander) it is sometimes difficult to get the velcro strips and buckles right!! It stays my favorite dogpack though!! Patric
I'm also digging on the Fenix headband..Mine came in the mail today and I am pleased with it. To by my quartz mini AA is to small for it. =( Now I need to buy a new light. Darn :P
- I've been using the blue Palisades for several years now. I love it. The only pain was the mylar water bags it came with. They are a pain to refill and reinsert. I just ended up replacing them with plastic water bottles.
- I've got that climbing harness you mentioned (Doubleback), and am still reviewing it before shooting a video. It's got more usefulness than just climbing.
- For those pin holes, check out Slime glueless tube patches.

Just so you know if you double lap the strap on the buckle it won't pull out.
