i rember sitting in 29palms cal training at it was sept 11, i was in the marines. when the news broke of what just happened i knew the world had just changed after many formations and meetings i knew i was going to war. we couldnt leave training till the next day and i was trying to sleep under the stars and the only comfort i found was listening to shangri la dee da, i bought at the px in camp wilson. this ablum means so much more to me than just music

this song helped me deal with my moms battle with cancer and my depression because of it....the whole CD did really, but i remembered this song the most. i love STP, and i love my mom. THUMBS UP FOR ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE, AND FOR ALL THE STP FANS

I can totally comprehend and appreciate that as I have had a MOM who has passed from cancer as well! Bravo my friend, and point so well taken! @dalecampbl7 I'm kinda glad it wasn't a single. In my opinion often the best songs on albums are specifically Not singles. Also it not being a single prevents it from being ridiculously overplayed to the point where people hate it, which unfortunately so often happens with singles. This way we can just enjoy the songs in secret :D

@imh4444 I agree. I think this album is going to be like "Presence" was for Zeppelin or even "Fair Warning" for Van Halen: a collection of underrated songs that never get played on radio. The songs are just so solid, the arrangements and the playing so inspired.

@drew5553 I agree that "And So I Know" is brilliant. "Hello It's Late" has always hit a nerve with me, and I really like the "handshake" between the first jangly lead part with the the fill that sounds like it's going through a Leslie. To each his own, man.

So soothing yet so melancholy...so moody. STP has such a beautiful catalogue with which to choose. I wish that there sets would include some of these less known, more mellow songs to go with the hard-rock jams. True fans would LOVE to hear the following live: Atlanta, Kitchenware & Candybars, Hello It's Late and Kitchenware & Candybars.

Or maybe it would be a novel idea for STP to open a show with Kitchenware and do an encore of the same song! hahah! I think that I meant to include "Black Again" and "A Song For Sleeping."
