Its the synthesis of cholesterol by the liver that contributes the most to high cholesterol so according to the first speaker this product would be of very limited benefit in this regard. Dietary cholesterol plays a very minor role. So how would this product be better at lowering cholesterol than a person adopting a 100% plant-based diet?
@auggiedoggy If you are adopting a 100% plant-based diet you are still ingesting some cholesterol. The function of LowChol is to limit the absorbtion of cholesterol from any dietary source. LowChol Natural is not as effective at reducing cholesterol compaired to red yeast rice or delta pro (other natural products from Real Natural Remedies.) LowChol works great as a booster in combination with other natural ingredient products.
@RealNaturalRemedies : What??? Plant foods don't contain *any* cholesterol and dietary cholesterol plays only a minor role in raising cholesterol levels in the body. So cholesterol made in the liver (about 80% of the cholesterol in our body) would still be the major issue then? So the only thing that would significantly lower this cholesterol, other than statin drugs, would be a low saturated fat diet? Seems to me that if one adopted a vegan diet these plant sterols would be unnecessary.
