@thomla7 God, Spirit, neither are names. Jesus is the name of God, and it's the only name given in the Bible. In Isaiah, the Bible states that Jesus will be called the Everlasting Father, and the Mighty Counsellor. Later, in the NT, the scriptures declare that The Father is in us. The doctrine of the Trinity Teaches that the Father, Son and Spirit are all separate, but the Bible teaches differently.
Also, the Bible says the "fullness of the "Godhead"" dwelt in Jesus.

He was speaking as a man, not as the 2nd person of a trinity. The verse in Isaiah means he IS the Father. The Father is not the 1st person of the trinity & the Son is not the 2nd. Actually Davertin, It goes like this: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The SAME was in the beginning with God.
It does not say: "HE was in the beginning with God!" God's Word is God's thought or purpose. God's Word IS God. This is what the scripture you are misquoting, tells us! It is not telling us that Christ was standing next to God. Christ is God in the flesh! Read Isaiah 9:6
It hasbeen a while since I got to hear Bro. Stoneking in person and it was good to be able to hear him. He always bless my soul with good preaching. Being a preacher myself, It is good to be able to get preached to sometimes. This is truly a man of a great God.

I just want to state something, after renewing myself with God and getting back to the heart of it all. We pentecostals need to stop trying to force scriptures and truth down other's throats, no matter who they are to us. God loves the sinner, not the sin. God loves everyone here, and it took me some time to realize that, and to realize I was doing the very thing God hated. I'm speaking against no one here, for I was ignorant as well. That still does not answer my questions.
1. How could Jesus possess ALL power in heaven and in earth if He shares it coequally with 2 other persons of the Trinity?
2. If there is ONE Lord, who is that Lord? Scripture says Jesus Christ is Lord. What does that make the other 2 persons of the Trinity?
3. Why does Isaiah say he shall be called "The Everlasting Father" if He is not the Father?
Furthermore, how could the Father be His Father, when the Bible says The Holy Spirit conceived Jesus?

@thomla7 God, Spirit, neither are names. Jesus is the name of God, and it's the only name given in the Bible. In Isaiah, the Bible states that Jesus will be called the Everlasting Father, and the Mighty Counsellor. Later, in the NT, the scriptures declare that The Father is in us. The doctrine of the Trinity Teaches that the Father, Son and Spirit are all separate, but the Bible teaches differently.
Also, the Bible says the "fullness of the "Godhead"" dwelt in Jesus.

@thomla7 Okay, first I don't twist scriptures, majority of what I believe in the Bible was not taught to me by my pastor, it was taught by reading it as it is, and by God through prayer. The Bible has no secret codes, it's all plain in black and white. I bought mine at a local christian book store, on sale for I believe 10$.

If it is Jesus only in the Godhead, then why in the parable of Luke20:9-16 why did not Jesus say in V13 that the LORD of the vinyard go himself to the husbandmen since he is the son also, BUT no the LORD of the vineyard SENT HIS SON.THAT IS 2 PERSONS.

@thomla7 Before Christ, was God a man? No. God is a Spirit. And God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Did Jesus have a human father? No. But God came manifest in the flesh, Creator becoming Creation. I don't know if you've ever studied the Dual Nature of Christ, but it explains a lot. For me though, I do not understand how Jesus prayed to the Father. But scripture has stated that godliness is a mystery, but the godhead isn't. How God does things is a mystery.

@thomla7 Obviously God was speaking through Isaiah, I was simply wording it differently. There is a dual nature of Christ, not different persons. That is the difference. He was speaking as a man, not as the 2nd person of a trinity. The verse in Isaiah means he IS the Father. The Father is not the 1st person of the trinity & the Son is not the 2nd. Jesus is the one & only.

There is only one who seats on the throne & His name is Jesus. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. When the Bible says God is one. . . it means it. There is NO division in the godhead. The church I attend is built on the love of God. The only way to make it to Heaven is to have a close relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. I can speak in tongues all day and not make it. Tongues are a sign of the Holy Ghost, where as the fruits of the Spirit are a sign of repentance

The 'we' you're speaking of are those who carry on in UPC after having been presented with truth. That's ok, since those people are not my concern.
It's only the elect of God that I'm concerned with, i.e. those associated with UPC who sincerely love the Lord, but are currently ignorant of Biblical truth and the fact that they're in a cult, yet when confronted with truth, will by the elective grace of God, forsake heresy and embrace that truth, just as I did several years ago.

Luke 21:17's object is Christians, not cult members.
The contempt UPC receives is common to all cults: Mormons, Russelites, etc.; not from holy living.
Christians are persecuted by the world and cults. Cults are persecuted by the world and warned by Christians.

Hey, you can tell me what I believe is false, but it won't change my testimony. God healed me when I tried to take my life, and what made me believe this the most was my doctor's couldn't explain it.
As for me condemning you, I didn't realize it. I'm human. I'm not perfect. And being human, we sin even when we're not trying to. We make mistakes even when we don't realize we're doing it.

God and the UPC have absolutely nothing to do with each other, though the UPC endeavours greatly to make you believe otherwise. There is life, true life, outside of cults, which is why they spend so much time asserting that true Christianity is in error.
A simple rule of thumb: Search diligently for a church where the Bible is most highly exalted in theory and practice and there you will find truth.
UPCI honors themselves, not God or His Word.

I do serve God, and I do give Him the glory because without Him, I would be dead. Yeah you could probably find a few bad eggs in the UPCI, but you find that everywhere and the best thing to do is not condemn them but pray for them and correct them with love, not hatred.
There's a scripture that states "A soft answer turneth away wrath".
Also, I am not in bondage, God freed me from depression, addiction, immoral lifestyle and bad relationships and finances. Now you can't say that is bondage.

Does someone really have to be attacked for being "effeminate"? Some men are naturally more manly than others, the same with women. Lets focus on the message and growing in the power of the Holy Spirit which is the only way the church will be truly victorious!!! I am talking beyond denominational lines here. The enemy uses denomination lines to bring division--he is laughing at us because it is our unity which increases our strength as a body. I pray we would all make unity a priority.

Actually we do not have that power, that is God's alone. It is the word of God that states the rules, we must obey for the Bible itself states that without Holiness, No Man Can See God. Holiness is important to God and it sets His people apart from the World. There's nothing magical about uncut hair it's just following the Word of God

Actually Davertin, It goes like this: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The SAME was in the beginning with God.
It does not say: "HE was in the beginning with God!" God's Word is God's thought or purpose. God's Word IS God. This is what the scripture you are misquoting, tells us! It is not telling us that Christ was standing next to God. Christ is God in the flesh! Read Isaiah 9:6
