(I think) It was C.S. Lewis who said, "I wouldn't be a member of a religion that I couldn't laugh at." The Church of England (Episcopal Church in the US), has some of the best, most ammusing parishioners in Chrisendom. I lived in the England and met some noteable characters. And being an Episcopal vicar, I can tell you honestly, the US church doesn't run short of the same humerous/excentric persons. It only gets dull when Episcopalians forget that they are a part of a 500 year old tradition.

Other then Geraldine...my other favorites are Jim, no no no no, yes! Also Mrs. Cropley (sp) with her odd food combos like lemon curd and ham or peanut butter and anchovy sandwiches. Her famous chocolate cakes were deadly combo oddities, too. Presentation-great...taste-eat at your own RISK! LOL
