The only way I have found at all to enter "special characters" is to locate them in the "Character Map" & then select to c&p where I want it, However, I have searched every CM font, & cannot find any music note symbols in Arial, Symbol, Webdings, Wingdings, or any other O font (I tried DLing a "Bach font", but it is a TT font that can't be copied into an online comment box like the OFs can be). Does Win7 have an Open Font with music note symbols that can be c&ped from the Character Map?

@MissJupiterWheels All characters should be in arial, however, ♪ ♫ are your music ones. You should see if there is a way to change the onscreen keyboard. Perhaps under the Keyboard, or some other menu.

@computersguy13 If I click the "option" button on the on-screen keyboard, it gives me an option to set an on-screen numeric keypad, but Alt+1+3 =☺3 , & Alt+1+4=☺4. No music notes.

Is there a special version of Open Font Arial that does not come standard with Windows7, that actually has music notes, that can be DLed from a safe website for free?

@MissJupiterWheels It's not a specialk version of Arial. Make sure you have all the characters dispkayed in the charmap.

Are you keping [Alt] pressed as you type in the numbers?

The reason the onscreen fails is because [Alt] is only held for one character.

@computersguy13 Using the physical keyboard, pressing Alt+1+3, or Alt+1+4, simultaneously, produces nothing. I figured that the on-screen keyboard wasn't working right because I couldn't press Alt simultaneously with the number keys. How many characters is Win7 Arial supposed to have, so I can count how many are missing in addition to the music notes?

I know this video is several years old, but I was wondering if computersguy13 has ever tried this with a Windows 7 laptop? Neither my physical keyboard, nor my on-screen keyboard have a numeric keypad section. There is a blue function key that is supposed to turn on number lock when pressed with the "ScrLk" key [that says "NmLk in blue with a house symbol with the number "1" inside it], but doing so, still does not allow me to type a music note symbol when pressing Alt +1+3 or Alt+1+4. @MissJupiterWheels I know it works with Windows 7, but due to all the laptops that I've useding having a full keyboard, I don't know why it's not working. When you press P, O, I, ect, do you get numbers, or those letters? That's how you confirm that Num Lock is on. (Make sure you're not using the top numbers.)

@computersguy13 The blue "Fn" key is supposed to turn on Number Lock if pressed together with the "ScrLk" key that has "NmLk [with a house with a number 1 in it]" printed in blue underneath it, but no keys have any blue numbers to indicate where the supposed numeric keyboard is supposed to be. If I turn it on, pressing P = * , O = 6 , & I = 5, but pressing either Alt+1+3 or Alt+1+4, does nothing in an online text box. In WordPad, pressing those Alt combos launches my documents library window.

No, that wouldn't be possible, flame text is uaually animated, which would require a GIF image. ASCII characters are just regular font. ☺

Using the FN key, somwhere on the F keys there is somthing to turn on numlock (Watch the lights on the top right fo one to go on) then use the number keys that also have letters on them, just use those with the usual method and it should wrok, tel me if it doesn't!
