Nice video man, thanks for your service. I just got out of the Army and trying to figure out what I want to do. I was infantry and did a year in Afghanistan so obviously there's not a whole lot of jobs requiring my experience. I was very good friends with my platoon medic and he got me interested in his line of work. What exactly is the difference between a regular EMS and firefighter EMS? Thanks for your time.

I don't know who's going to read this, but i just want to say if you work as an EMS THANK YOU for your tireless service. If you don't work as an EMS and you want to show these guys support go to your local community center or whatever you have and take a CPR course, you may never have to use it but it may help save someone's life.

@413dmoney I would say you should always treat patients as if they were your own family members. If you do that you can't go wrong. The rest is about making sure you keep up with your knowledge base and skills. Don't be afraid to ask the senior members for advice. Good luck

im considering becoming a paramedic but it seems like they just dont make that much money compared to a cop or a fireman for examples..i think id be happy doing that job through and idk if the whole 4 year college thing is for me. What is the maximum amount of money paramedic can make?

@AldoKavje That all depends on where you work but I can tell you that most people don't stay on this job for the money. I can tell you that my colleagues make a decent living as paramedics though. Good luck with whatever you do.

@AldoKavje if your in for it for the money its not worth the time for you to do it. This job is very demanding and you can only do if your heart is set on to help people and save lives. This job is something that drains you in every way but is very rewarding as well; especially when you save a life. So trust me the money factor isn't everything, you can make up from 38-60 thousand a year but that depends on your experience, where you work, who you work for, and how good you are at what you do.

I'm currently taking my EMT course right now and I hope FDNY EMS (and EMS in general) will be more acknowledged and respected by society as a whole.
