  • Probably my favorite version along with the japanese one.

  • I think the voice actors did a great job, specially with giving a comedical sound to the hyenas.

I dont know why but the way the hyena said "Il est malade" made me laugh lol :P

  • C'est bien du francais

  • @GuitaristAlmighty There's no Canadian French version of The Lion King :P

  • @devilxhlywood Nope! In fact, the «Be prepared» version that you can only find on the CD you're talking about was recorded in France. It was an early version of it. The reason why it can be found on this CD is due to a simple mistake. And it's not French Canadian! In fact, when we buy the DVD or Blu-ray here in Quebec, we have the same dub as France.

  • @Simsit66 that s strange that it was recorded twice

  • @devilxhlywood I know! But it's true :)

  • @GuitaristAlmighty Its sounds Québécois to me too. Perhaps there was never a Quebec version and we listened to the french version for all these years *gasp* xD

  • i like how instead of "listen to teacher" here its just "listen to me and shut up" LOL

  • @Poet2916 Are you sure you watched the first 4 seconds of the video? ;-)

  • I tried to listen to this and the english version simultaneously but it never worked out because this always got ahead of the other...is this version sped up to match the french?

  • 1:44 - 2:07 Napoleon in Bologne marching to Austerlitz

  • @GeneralissimoRussia JAJAJAJA

  • @GuitaristAlmighty : Québecois 's version is so bad...i'm " québecois", and i love french version fron France...but in the lion king 2, i prefer quebeker voices..

  • 2:10 angry french scar=best angry scar

  • "Pourquoi ?" Michel Mella is hilarious as Banzaï.

  • @GuitaristAlmighty No. It's French from France.

  • Meh, french scar is a no, but italian scar...pwoarr(:

  • French Scar.

    Sorta scary.

  • I think that french version is the best. But polish version is also great.

  • The best dub ever! Sexy as hell!

  • Iosif Scarlin.

    Scarpoleon Bonaparte.

    Nicolae Scarescu.

    Skarl Marx.

    Mao Scardong.

    AWESOME IN EVERY LANGUAGE!

  • OMG its Scarpoleon Bonaparte!

  • I love how the Hyenas' KEEKEEKEEKEE is present in every language

  • Ok does anyone else think that the marching hyenas with the french over it is a bit ironic?

  • @Snorlax891 Why?

  • @tinneclesage the events of 1939 to 1945.

  • @Snorlax891 not like the french haven't marched through the rhine in triumph, probably not kicking as high though...now the hebrew version, that's another story.

  • i imagine napoleon made a similar speech before the revolution

  • quelle voix epique ! magnifique

  • hahahahahahahahaha il est malade?

  • French is usualy my favorite language for The Lion King, but this didn't work out so well. The words couldn't fit the meter. Guess French is too melodical after all to be sung so abruptly.

  • @AllyKari1 i dont know what you mean

  • I wish Jeremy Irons could have sung this version too... He spoke French so well in Lolita! Disney should have settled for nothing less. Jeremy IS Scar!

But I suppose this Scar does very well too.

  • honhonhonhon~

  • Scar's voice sounds really... sexy in French! xD

  • @starexyy everything sounds sexy in French! xD

  • @MrNiceGuy590 HAHAHAHA. You kidding right ? I'm french and ... It's an illusion to think everything sounds sexy in french. xD

  • @ElYuukii I'm from Germany and I know about ugly languages xD Be thankful :D

  • @MrNiceGuy590 Sorry, I forgot German. :X Anyway, I don't think everything sounds sexy in french, german, or in english !><

  • Scar is a coward so he's not supposed to be that masculine.i love the sweet/sugar/honey yet menacing voice of the french version.

  • The "You won't get a sniff without me" is the BEST in french, I swear. SO much aggression. Probably why this is one of my favourite versions ;3;

  • Merci par le video =)

  • J´aime la voix du min. 2.10 trés génial

    Salutations du Mexico

  • Mon Dieu!!! La Française version est le meilleur!!! (sorry for my bad french)

It is even better than the German version and the Brazilian Portuguese version...

  • I want to learn this version!!!

  • The voice-lip syncing in this clip is amazing. I don't know if it's the French language itself or just whoever determines what lyrics get song where, but it was very very well done. If I didn't know this was sung in English originally, I'd think it was a French film just based of the voice syncing. :)

  • It kind of fits Scar to be french....^^

  • lol I don't know if it's because French is supposed to be a "romantic" language, but there is something distinctly effeminate about French Scar.

  • *___*

  • well.... there goes scar's masculinity!

  • @mrdabbleswithpotion Lame. What is "unmasculine" about this?

  • Haha, "our kind invites us to the party! Be prepared!" :D Love it!

  • the hyena chor is epic, like in the italian version :)

  • this is the true french version, i'm belgian and I can only listen the true french ;)

I like this better than the US version (sound less heavy) btw the german version is epic!

  • Hitler reference much ??? :P

  • Napoleon Bonaparte*

  • 1:13 - 1:26 Haha, just love that part for some reason... :D

  • For some reason, this is the version that's easiest for me to sing. Don't know why.

  • 1:22 = Robespierre

  • @izdurg4ever quel bon sens ce Robespierre... ;) lol

  • I like this version a lot, but 0:43 to 0:50 makes me laugh so hard

  • @NickiSwe95 just because the hyenas?

  • @credocommgo actually it's because of the way Scar sounds like when he sings. If I would've understood French it probablly wouldn't sound funny at all, but for me it does

  • @NickiSwe95 ooooh, like when his voice becomes higher at that point? yeah thats funny ;p

  • mon dieu, scar était absolument féroce

  • This is one of the best I've heard!! (But I still like the Korean better...)

  • @labernet11

Look up their national anthem kid

  • @labernet11 heh, more like the language to get pussy. Of course, not that you would know anything my fine aperican prison bitch ;). but really, just ask your mother.

  • @labernet11 Maybe you should learn to speak some, then. It would be fitting for you, don't you think?

  • german version: hitler

    russian version: scarlin

    chinese version: scar zedong

    english version: bush

    arabic version: scardaffi

    italian version: scarlusconi

    french version: scarleon scarparte

    czech version: scargej ingr

  • TOP 10 BEST version 01. German 02. Hungarian 03. Russian 04. Zulu 05. Hebrew 06. Finnish 07. Japenese 08. Dannish 09. French 10. English

  • So for the Germans and Russians the implication of who Scar was historically analogue to were obvious. But who is Scar for the French? Robespierre, really didn't want a king at all, and I don't think he was promising food for the lowly either. Could you say it was Napoleon III? or maybe Petain with the Vichy? Or maybe even De Gaulle in 1958?

  • c'est magnifique! greetings from finland! haha, 1:20 :D

  • Merveilleux!

  • I love how the hyaena says "Pourquoi" xD

I think the french version of this song is very good. Since I learn french at school I understood almost everything^^

  • This wonderful song & animation always makes me laugh, and feel transported back to my childhood, when my Swahili ayah ('nanny') delighted and terrified us in equal measures with her stories of hyenas being witchdoctors in disguise, other animals plotting things in dark places..... My youtube video has original footage of Tanganyika/Tanzania in the 1950's & 60's.

  • Me recuerda mucho de Danton and Robespierre!

  • after hearing this in just about every lang, German is my favorite, Tom Fitsch did an epic scar and made the german dub my favorite, but eng french and german are my top 3 (: this sounds epic in any lang tho.... ^^

  • @Tan4500 i love the german version : )

  • That laugh at the end... Awesome in every language I've seen.

  • scar's voice is...WOW

  • IT JUST WORKS.

    ANY LANGUAGE. It just... WORKS.

  • @Mantonization ahahah im gonna try the german version and see if they put abit of hitlers inspiration into it :P

  • Hold 5 to hear gangsta Scar.

  • I feel violated now..

    still awesome :DD

  • Super! C'est bon!

  • English is the best

  • @jojosweet9713 sorry I love French but I'd have to say that the German version captures the scene the best.

  • la version française est la meilleur

  • Napoleon!

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • The part at 2:10 in french is the most aggressive of all versions !

  • @legypse I agree!! it's such a powerful line he says in french too.. YOU WILL DIE OF HUNGER FOR LIFE!

  • @seanalexanderdurand well, yes teh litteral translation is this but it`s meant more in teh sense of `you will starve for life`

  • why there are three french versions?! is it possible that one goes to Canada, other one to France and the last one to Belgium?!.... please!! somebody... :(

  • @cchanandler Three?? I know there's a Canadian French version, but I've never heard of a third version... :-S

  • @FiatLux47 French, Canadian French, French Musical

  • @cchanandler ok so Brianmaitland answered me, so if you didn't see his/her answer here it is: French, Canadian French, French Musical

  • @FiatLux47 what is French Musical?

  • @mcr500 Actually I don't know exactly. Try to look it up on Youtube or Google.

  • @FiatLux47 I replied to the other guy, but the French Musical version refers to the French translation of the Broadway Musical version of the Lion King.

  • @mcr500 French Musical refers to the stage version. In 1997, they adapted the movie into a broadway stage musical, which has been translated into other languages, including French. the "French musical" version refers to the French translation of the Broadway play.

  • @baixiaolang oh alright, thanks. =D

  • @cchanandler The third one is from the lion king comedy musical that was adapted in france i think

  • I love the French version! They have a beautiful language ... Scar is really scary, and wicked!

  • German version > French version

  • French is a beautiful lng :D

  • Sans roi, sans roi, la la la la la la. XD

  • What did Shenzi said in the Scene before the Song?

I mean the Scene where Banazi and Ed are fighting because Ed lauhgs about Banzais Wound on his Back.

  • I think French and German are the best languages for the villains songs because of the way we pronounce the "r"... it's stronger than in any other languages and makes it sound more evil...

Though I love Italian or Russian for example, their villains songs sound like a joke to me^^

  • This is amazing.

  • I want to learn this language so bad!!! :D

  • @1958mjmichaeljackson

    Need some help ? ^^

  • @Blaune07 I sure do :D

  • For me french dub makes scar sounds so SEXY!

  • the most cool of all the songs are very well done in any language

  • 1:12 Can't stop laughing!!!!!

  • 2:43 best part of the song

  • Why all the english people thought that French's version sounds gay?

  • @Chringel I don't know, i'm particularly excited to make a video of this and "Friends on the Other Side" for my French class.

  • @Chringel Because it makes Scar sound gay.

  • @kiminokami I don't know to me it seems very napoleonic with the marching hyena's as well

  • @Obliviusoctavius That has nothing to do with the language. It is part of the animation. It is the same in all languages, and was based upon Nazi marches.

  • @kiminokami I do agree with you but it's just that with it being in French it makes him seem like a lion version of Napoleon and with the German version it does seem rather Nazi and I do think of that straight away.

  • @Obliviusoctavius But Napolean wasn't an evil force. I don't think you should be looking up to Scar admiringly. Isn't there a bad guy in French history whom you could compare him to?

  • @kiminokami Again I agree that Napoleon wasn't an evil force it's just that because of the sheer intelligence and genius ability with this song and the complete loyalty of the hyenas and it being in French it does make him seem slightly like him. I wasn't saying that it was because Napoleon was bad because he wasn't I just mean about the factors being brought into play do render the two similar. Maybe I'm just phrasing my comments wrong. And I don't really look up to scar it's just my opinion.

  • @Chringel Because the english people are just jaleous of our language

  • EPIC WIN!!!

  • Did they change the mouth movements to match the song? it sure looks like it :o

  • @apophis456 no actually they don't, maybe you don't see here but sometimes it doesn't match. Also when you're french and when you hear the lyrics + at the same time you watch the mouth moves, you notice it doesn't move correctly. It's way easier if you're not english to notice that kind of things.

Anyway, I absolutely LOVE Jean Piat's voice :D

  • @apophis456 We can't change the mouth movements, that's why the translation is a very hard thing since it has to match the lips the best it can while making sense.

  • Oh my god, how could Mufasa didn't hear it when scar scramed that loud lol XD Anyway its amazing. Scars voice has lots of power *_*

  • Coup, coup!

  • amazing, I've listened to this song in english, german and french and every version of Scar is simply amazing, especially the first line of the refrain in either language, just makes me love every time and how cute Scar appears at that

  • I'm studying French in high school, don't know very much. I'd love to become fluent one day.

  • @EpicBacon lol i live in quebec city (canada) :) i dont no french very well ironic how i live in the frenchest zone in canada and im perfectly english. :P i no alot of french but its really hard with all those stupid verbs and tenses and conjugation :( its a pretty language but one of the hardest :)

  • @bribrimichaeljackson Just try russian and I bet you'll change your mind about french language :p we do not have declinations, for exemple.. THAT's hard :p

  • @EpicBacon Well I'd love the same thing with english ^^

  • it's just not the same...

  • Wow. Usually I can't help but think that French sounds a big gay somehow - but I guess Scar showed me. The pure evilness in his vioce easily masks the inherent baroque gayness of French ;)

  • i really think that rssian, german and french are the most beautiful languages (:

  • germany and france have got the ebst scar vocies ! : )

  • Scar is sexy, and with a French voice he just makes me melt :3
