The term "Kirat Desh"or Kirat Country is found in the earlier documents such as Veda.
The Kirat Desh extended from Himachal Pradesh, Nepal to Tripura and all the way to Chittagong in the south.
Today Kirat people live in Nepal, Assam and Sikkim.
There are still find mon khmer Kirat ethnic group in Himachal Pradesh.
