Thank you worked :) I had to stop it because of jailbreak... I jailbroke my phone but I restored my iPhone when it wasn't jail broken and It back it's self up when it was still jailbroken and fucked it all up.. So I had to re-jailbreak my phone :(

or while its backing up you could just hit the little x to the side of where it says backing up "Your iPod name"

I was wondering what was the code to allow backups again on OSX. I stopped the backups when I was on 1.1.4 and I want to update to 2.1.1 but it I'll have to wipe the memory which I don't want to do. The music and movies came from multiple computers. When I try backing up it pops up with a dialogue saying there's an error (-50).

what does disabling your itunes backup do for you? how does it help or whatevr.

well when you sync your ipod/iphone, itunes automatically backs-up the ipod/iphone. This is very time consuming and annoying. This is a way to disable it to save time.
