The beatles are the best group that ever came out. And Paul is the best beatle who has accomplished more and done so for decades. Elvis was one of the most famous too, but Paul has servived over 30 years more and still going strong. He has allways been my favorite beatle. But He's in a catagory all by himself. Only the jelous and critics cut him down. But he's made the best music ever.
@majorgeeek Why is Paul genius, you ask? LET'S THINK ABOUT IT. Not only has his music touched listeners AROUND THE WORLD, but THOUSANDS of other artists use his songs. I'm not using fame and fortune as an example here, but seriously, sixty years after the Beatles, people still go to his concerts to listen and be touched by his music. EVEN IN RUSSIA. The Beatles have taught people how to speak English. Why? Because the music was SO GENIUS, people listened to it enough that they learned how to sp
@majorgeeek The fact that they couldn't read music just makes them even more amazing. I mean, to produce those tunes is one thing, but to produce them without even knowing how to read music is phenomenal. Trying to insult a Beatle is like slitting your mother's throat--you just don't do it. Ever. Now shush because Paul is one million times better than you. If you must, STOP WATCHING HIS VIDEOS BECAUSE YOU SEEM TO HATE HIM A LOT. Your trolling could be useful on a Justin Bieber video, however.
This song, She Loves You and Happiness Is a Warm Gun are my fave Beatles songs, unless one considers Ask Me Why or A Little Help from My Friends...or...
@prouddadx2 - I'm not disputing you despite what it might seem. HOWEVER, Paul had a songwriting partner named John Lennon. Yes, I would call them musical geniuses, much more together than apart. Which doesn't detract from their indiviual greatness. And which is why The Beatles couldn't stay together that long, as they were going in like (not identical) but different pathways. Their music after shows the differences. Separate they are geniuses, together they were masters, so much more than 1 &1.
I was there! I was standing on the right of the stage.
It was very touching! I could feel the people in the crowd were changing through his whole performance, and at the end when he sang "Yesterday" was too amazing!
One year earlier Elton was in concert in Kiev too. But I didn't go then. :(
Paul still has talent- after 60 years he's still singing the same Beatles songs perfectly. Paul is 66 years old, but he's so good he rocks out like he's still la teen.
Paul may have been FAB and all that but most of his music became redundant after leaving the Beatles. The fact his solo career never even came close to former fame of Beatles also proves he is not a genius
@majorgeeek Paul's creations have been phenomenal with and after the Beatles. His Wings career is spendid. His musician skills at bass are unsurpassed. His voice and melodies are intense. Watch Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road to see a real genius, a guy who does not force his talent. On the other hand, you have probably never created anything but are pompous enough to judge a guy who is 10,000 times more accomplished than you. Bottom line, i still think you are an idiot. Sorry.
@lanceloz - intense melodies, Abbey Road etc is not a measure of genius - Paul's creations were all Lennon & McCartney tunes and after the Beatles he never even got close to former Beatle fame - Paul has not achieved the highest intellectual achievement in music to be classified a music genius eg Mozart - heck he can't even read music - if you think he's a genius where is the evidence? - to date you have only proven you are the idiot here - not sorry!
@majorgeeek I was talking of "Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road" not "Abbey Road". Anyway, only an idiot would argument "he is not a genius because, uh, heck, he can't even read music". I guess that your two neurones are overheating already, right? So i should keep it simple and encourage you to stick to things that cannot be disputed: if idiots could fly, you would be a squadron leader.
@lanceloz yeh yeh and if idiots could fly your home would be an airport - it is truly wonderous your brain can generate enough power to use a keyboard - rather than argue the person argue the facts - come on - if you think Paul has reached the highest intellectual achievement worthy of a genius eg Mozart where's the evidence from any reference?
@majorgeeek The mere fact they cannot read music has nothing to do with the fact they are genius or not, and if you could think clear (haha) you would agree that writing what they wrote without knowing how to write music is rather outstanding. Suggested improvement for you: You should change your nickname from `"majorgeek" to "majoridiot".
@lanceloz - popularity and "writing what they wrote without knowing how to write music is rather outstanding." - is not a measure of genius - it seems you have a weird sense of affinity for idiots - do you also dribble as well as masturbate?
@Catbox656667 in an interview with Paul and John, Paul admitted that "none of us can read music", - that was in their early Beatles career they had their music transposed for them - even later their ability to read music was only basic - they were morons compared to Mozart
@majorgeeek Self taught musicians of that caliber are not morons compared to ANYONE. How many of these rocks stars of the past 50 years that have been taught by the best can claim to have had the fame, fan base, charisma and unforgettable music of The Beatles? How many musicians have written and recorded songs like 'Yesterday', 'Hey Jude', 'Let It Be'...?
@manbigus - no one here is saying that Paul is a "moron" even though sometimes he has behaved like one - the evidence in his music suggests Paul has Not reached the level of a music genius
@majorgeeek the evidence is that he's had more #1 hits than just about anyone else, is listed in the official Guiness Book of World Records as , I quote, "The Most Sucessful pop musician ever" (based on # of albums sold) and his song "yesterday is hte msot rerecorded song by other artists ever with over 2 million covers.
@majorgeeek okay, let's just rephrase this. I don't profess that he is or isn't a music genius. But if you look at the running success of HIS written and sung music, with countless fans across the world, the man must be doing something right! But again I ask, who made you judge? ARE YOU A MUSICAL GENIUS? IS THAT WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL THAT YOU should BE A JUDGE? And exactly what constitutes musical genius? I would say that music is definitely an emotional art, as it "moves" us in certain way
rgcris, I hope you're joking. "Favourite" is an alternate spelling of the same word, such as color:colour and judgment:judgement. And in your sentence, you used "your" when you should've used "you're." I understand that "song" was spelled incorrectly, but it was just a slip of the keys, nothing to get uptight about.
