Lol that's hilarious. So I'm confused though since I'm still only on Season 1. Is this a part of the actual show, or did a fan make this? Well obviously the dialog parts are from the show but were the shipping parts?

@TableKMusicVideos It was hilariously ironic, since clip episodes in shows were designed to eat up an episode with a small budget. On community, the clip episode ended up being their most expensive since they had to film all of these extra flashbacks that never actually happened.

What other show would do a tribute to its rabid shipper fans by basically doing a shipping video within the show itself? It's so great.

And yes, this is A TRIBUTE to shippers, NOT A MOCKERY. It pokes some fun at them, sure, but at the end of the day it's a homage to those Community fans who are dedicated to make shipping videos. Harmon has confirmed this multiple times, both on Twitter and on the S2 DVD commentaries. He paid out of his own pocket to get the rights to this song.

You guys know Dan Harmon paid 30 grand for the "Gravity" song right? He says so on an episode in the DVD commentaries. It's not a "fuck you" to the shippers, more like a nod.

@OhMurdoc Yeah, he actually called the people who make the shipper videos "genius" because of all the creative editing techniques they use to take seemingly innocuous clips and tell a story with them. This was definitely a shout-out/tribute to all the amateur editors out there. If you read other interviews with him (especially early ones), he -really- appreciates shippers and the people that get so emotionally invested in his show.
