@parade You might want to consider that Tom Waits plays on instruments he made himself, pieces of junk he finds lying around and so on. Jack White plays on a piece of shit made out of plastic that he bought for some ridiculous price like $200. Sea Stick Steve plays on a guitar with three strings. The list is endless, you don't need to be a snob to innovate.
