  • So beautiful to listen to, how could anyone not love this music? It's the best.

  • A great piece of music taken to a new and loftier level which anyone else would have trouble matching. Mr Evans was/is the pinnacle of his art, now and forever.

  • Oh my God! What voicings!

  • 1:36 to 1:49 is just awesome, not hatin on the rest of the song

  • O. M. G. The Genius. I'm speechless.

  • Trop sympa ! J'adore cette chanson.

  • I will say goodbye a great, great, great, great album.

  • What can you say? Pure musical genius.

  • Wondering if Burt Bacharach has ever heard this? Simply lovely!

  • simply, great

  • its all been said about bill evans.he was a creative genius and my favorit pianist. ive listened to him from start to finish of his career and still do almost everyday.genius is a mighty word but i think it applies here.many thanks..

  • I've collected Bill's albums since 1965, and I am still collecting his music. Hope to receive this CD within the next week. I wish I were able to put into words what his music has meant to me during the years. Had an opportunity to see him with Philly Joe Jones and Eddie Gomez at the Village Vanguard. This is one of the most beautiful and moving performances I have ever heard. And my 20-something-year-old children love him as much as I do. God bless this Jersey boy.

  • @jerseycity47 let's not forget this fabulous tunes composer the great Burt Bacharach!

  • Ah... favolosa.

  • The Bill Evans trios in all their variarions were arguablly the best jazz trios of all time. No less than Miles Davis stated he learned more from Bill than any other musician.

  • I can imagine Luther Vandross doing this with Bill on the keys. Good stuff.

  • Just when I thought Mel or Tony had made the the definative versions...live and learn. Thank you for getting this to us.

  • Just fantastic!

  • Thanks Ladybret for putting this up. It is my fav song and musician- THE LATE & GREAT BILL EVANS

  • What a discovery- My fav song by my fav piano player

  • What a shame Bill Evans left us at the age of 51. This piece is remarkably beautiful and touching. Bill takes a pretty song, that in other hands normally sounds like a simple, oversentimental pop tune, and makes it a masterpiece. Bill Evans put his stamp on many standards by making his version THE version to listen to. How sad and remarkable that Ken Burns barely mentioned Bill Evans in his 19 hour "history of Jazz"..... Ken should have stuck to the Civil War.

  • @MrWolfmantim I love Bill and this song especially (evertime I hear this I get "misty")

  • I'm in awe of Bill Evans. I have known his bass player, Marc Johnson, for almost 40 years, and he has always told me how lovely Bill was as a person. Very humble, very modest and totally genius. I wish I had listened to him more, but now is better than never... RIP Bill. You were one amazing gift to this world...

  • im sure Bill evans was from another planet, i can`t believe what im hearing.

  • nothing, NOTHING like this on YouTube or elsewhere. The master took a fantastic composition and gave it his virtuoso touch and turned it into even more of an ethereal dream for the ears............

  • Bill Evans. what a legend!

  • Like most of Bill Evan's renditions, elegant, like a fine wine!

  • more elegance needed this song... though.. i love Evans most of all

  • where can i find the notation for this, id really love to learn it

  • wow....I didn't have that record. this is so good to still discover Bill's performance. Bless your soul and legacy bill. we miss you- wherever you are, still giving us joy and emotions...

  • WOW!

  • ...thankfully, this song isn't ruined by my knowing Hal David's heartfelt lyrics !

  • @aammirr hal davids son was the youngest songwriter in ASCAP at the age of 12 ?what songs did he write the word the ,it sounds like a phony tax shelter

  • @aammirr Sorry this was written by Burt Bacharach

  • @gladdad101 - This is from Bacharach's own site, Bacharachonline -

Vielen Dank!

  • Gern geschehen. :)

  • Woher können Sie Deutsch?

  • @mathchart

Zwei Jahre Deutsch in der Schule.
