@TheAustronesianUnity The prison we need to be free from is the one where our culture was suppressed.
We need to take back our ocean, our sport of surfing that our forefathers created and the science of navigation. We need to bring back so much that we have lost. We all always talk about the bad and stupid sides of our culture but we have forgotten the great and good side of our oceanic culture.
@TheAustronesianUnity What do you mean "Pure Poly? We are what we are, were polynesian. Fijians arent included as Polynesians, by the definition. There is no such thing as Samoan or Tongan, they are the same people genetically. The polynesian genome allows us to adapt quicker then other people, thats why we have varied skin tone. The mixing with Asian and Europeans only began a few decades ago, meaning theres a vast amount of us still unchanged. We r the primary source of polynesia.
@TheAustronesianUnity Actually according to Samoan and Tongan Mythology(I call it actual History)
our roots come from a particular group that came out of Fiji. And the Samoans and Tongans split one going north and the other south. The Northeners became Samoans and the Southeners became Tongans, and back and fourth we mixed. And from these to nations all of polynesians came from, all cultural.language and history can be traced back to Samoa and Tonga.
In PNG( a melanesian country), a group of people to the south of the country were great seafarers and traders.....their huge canoes are called the lagatois and were used to trade when their area experienced dry season.
Polys are austronesians not canadians or peruvians! Genetics dont lie-they are mostly southeast asian with some melanesian abmixture.Google polynesian genetics!
These are all political concepts, please don't get lost.
In essence, the Pacific Islands, Pilipinas, Nusantara, and Indochina all share a similar ancestry and seafaring is an essential part of this ancestral heritage.
As to where the line of descent started, I think I won't live long enough to know.
We'll never be sure, our ancestors are seafarers after all. Nomads.
i live in hawaii but am from mainland and my parents are from lebanon. i can imagine what it's like to live somewhere you know your blood had been for hundreds of years. i went to lebanon once. it was a really amazing feeling, knowing my history and i wish i lived there..even tho there is violence and poverty. hawaiians should know their history bc the feeling i have about lebanon is such a mighty feeling.
those who colonized the pacific islands were deadly viruses by introducing their white hoaxes like religion and commerce that rape native lands for self gain...yet historically, native people ensured land they did have, was for the well-being of the all. sadly, today, these disgusting vehicles (religion, etc) are still strongly embedded in the polynesian psyche like a shackle and bondage.
its always amusing to hear people talk about history and those who discovered lands far far away...when all it REALLY is, that WHITE culture who think they are superior (Nazi's) to everyone else sailed the seas in search of new lands...BUT they were already inhabited by native people?? so James cook, Columbus, etc only discovered land that were new to the white people written in white history books for white schools. the original peoples dont even get a mention?? yet, were the BEST navigators.
Wow, I read thru quite a few posts, all interesting and most positive apart from one.......@jusitke07.....This person seems to have this annoying itch that makes me so amused and smile. Such a holier then thou know all[ know f@#k all] He or she is so persisent and reminds me of some incurable virus....Well the ignorant person behind these know all...[know f@#kall posts] that I mentioned does he or she know his or her origins. Looks like this idiot just goes by the book. Probably a librarian.
Kupe and Hongi Hika landed in a place now named Hokianga, in the northern part of the North Island. Our sea going migration canoes were made from Western Red cedar. Western red cedar does not grow in Hawaii and never has. The Western red cedar in question comes from what is now British Columbia in Canada. This is the same type of wood that the Native canadian used for their sea going canoes. According to our ancestors, the Maoris or who ever they were named them, traded with the native Canadians
My Maori sea faring history goes all the way back to Hawaii. But wait.. The great migration giant canoes that my forebearers made for these epic sea journeys were made of cedar. Western red cedar. History has it that these trees were from what is now Canada.
The Maori, Hawaiian, Easter Island, Tahitian and Rarotongans speak the same language or similar. Our forebearers have a very complex and fantastic history, and Im so happy that the history, legends, and stories have been handed down to us.
I'm just surprise poly navigators found Hawaii instead of micros but micros are polys to well mix cuz polys even sailed to our region very nice subject proud to be within these three families mela micro n poly
Yah Samoan definitely right u can't compare big nations to a tiny island nations cuz our populations only reach around 100 thousands compare to bigger nations that holds around a mill in populations
U all right roughly 81% of u all comments is true. i really do understand it, i was born and raised in our islands, it is true, i very amazed, so impressed of the truths u guys speak. i really meant it with all my heart, like i said i was born and raised in the islands, but sadly this young generations r not understanding it. we reallyx3 need to teach them. they need to know and even though we r also mixed w/african&european blood, we still need to let them know.
From amsamoatourism . com, "Linguistic and cultural evidence suggest that the first Samoa inhabitants migrated from the West, possibly by way of Indonesia"
So what were you saying again about Polynesians as a separate race [from Indonesians]? I don't think so.
@samoantoa08 Your so called "Polynesians" as bigger is a myth. If you want to see large or bigger you'd have to visit Denmark, Nigeria, Sudan and Sweden. Show me a "Polynesian" that won the world's strongest man competition. Or a Samoan winning a gold medal in the 21st century Summer or Winter Olympics....I don't think you can.
Oh yeah idiot? So have you noticed the huge population difference that allows for a lot smaller pool in every sport for Samoans? Millions of danes, nigerians, swedish, and whatever other race that has won athletic competiton medals, but there are approximately 500, 000 samoans in the whole world. Did you think of that smartass? I assure you if we had the same amount of people, we'd probably win more medals. However, we excel at football, which is a power/strength sport. A samoan is 56 times
@samoantoa08 So that's the excuse? Small populace of Samoans means that there will be no winner of the world's strongest man competition or the Olympics? Pathetic excuse seriously. Anyway, I see you can't provide any source of proven info huh. Which makes your comment...false ;)
Yes that's the excuse.Tell me how many whites are in the NFL or Pro Rugby Leagues in comparison with how many of them practice the sport-very low percentage.Samoans-very high percentage.A Samoan-American is 37 times more likely to make the NFL than any other USA ethnicity. How is it a pathetic excuse? Not our fault more of us get into a sport that gets a lot more pay and is very popular in the areas where we live. What source are you looking for?
@samoantoa08 Oh it's speculations no doubt. And I have proven my point by asking where are the world champions of strongest man, or summer & winter olympic games, or most beautiful persons, or tallest human beings in the world (records show Denmark & Sudan hold that record, not Samoans), and where are the champions of Iron Man competitions from Samoa? Answer: None.
I'm talking about at an average buddy? Do you understand what that means? Median? Cause I can tell u random Samoan can whoop any Dane or Sudanese. And you stating those does not make them fact boy. U've not proving anything but ur stupidity.
@samoantoa08 POOHAHA!! I'd like to see evidence of a Samoan whooping a Dane or a Sudanese when in fact both there are many Danes and Sudanese that can whoop Samoans in the Olympic games with medals. Any Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals from Samoa? I don't think so.
Thats the thing.U cant base it off of the olympics on sports that Samoans barely participate in.Like I said, u have to compare the different in populations here and I don't think u can fathom that.U even comparing it by medals when those people have at the least thousands but more like millions more participants than Samoans or Polynesians as a whole even shows me ur biased and might not understand. But im telling u the average Samoan is stronger than prolly any other ethnicity's.
@jusitke07 A medal means nothing. Like the guy was saying...compare the difference in the population. A medal is given to an athlete for his or her achievement in a specific sport. Polynesians did not invent the Olympic games or the world championships in any sport. And by the way you are wrong. The Rock was a world champion wrestler. Hes also a Samoan. Some of the best footballers in the world are polynesians and Australian natives. So what if the polynesian athlete dont win many medals.
@176709 That's not the point. There are ignorants that say the Samoans never came from South East Asia, and that they were just there and that they're better people than the South East Asians. Bullcrap. DNA, linguistic similarities, cultural similarities, and Archaelogical evidence says alot about ALL Pacific Islanders coming from South East Asia.
@jusitke07. Scientests are only human. DNA results are questionable. Polynesions....the forebearers of the Maoris, Cook Islanders, aster islander, and a few other nations DID NOT COME FROM INDONESIA. Full stop.
Our ancestors came from the North East.... Hawaii. Im not sure about the Tongans, Samoans, and Fijians plus others. We have written proof in NZ that our people came from Hawaii. Kupe, and Hongi Hika were 2 seafarers who came to NZ during the Great migration, THEN WENT BACK TO HAWAII.
Oh really? Then why is that the court system all across the world practically use this to convict serial rapists, and other criminals? Is it perhaps that DNA proves a lot about origins? Hmmmmm.....no seriously, do you think so? You definitely are one of those ignorants to speculate the Pacific Islanders came from somewhere other than South East Asia. Look up Austronesian Language comparisons and get back to mon that will ya, thanks. Cheers :)
@jusitke07 There is evidence that there was a migration from South America. There is a relationship with South America. DNA cannot prove a migration and where did they come from. Polynesians share similar DNA to those indigenous people of South East Asia which doesnt necessarily mean they are their ancestos. It doesnt mean they are the same Polynesians have a connection with South America and DNA proves that but doesnt show where the migrations went.
@jusitke07 How do YOU know???. Your the ignorant one. Didnt you know that the forebearer of the Native American were from Asia and Siberia. They migrated over the submerged Bering land bridge during the last ice age. Over a few thousand years they populated what is now North America including Canada, Hawaii and other Pacific coasts islands eg Vancouver Island etc., plus some of the Carribean Islands. That is where the Asian link is, Not thru Indonesia. Some also did make it to South America
@176709 I guess you didn't look thru the Austronesian language comparisons. Well, let me give it you directly instead:
Tatak (Tagalog) means scratch into or painful scratch. Sounds like Tatau in Samoan. Atuhan (Bahasa) means gods/god, which really sounds like Atua in Samoan. Lima in most Malay language means the number 5 or hand, sounds familia? yup, that's right, it exactly like Samoan 5 or hand. Sepulu means ten in Bahasa, like sefulu in Samoan. Api means fire, life Afi in Samoan...need more?
@176709 Your not sure about the Tongans, Samoans and fijians?? First off Fijian is Melanesian not Polynesian and many Tongans are mixed with Fijians which make them darker in color. If you see light skin Tongans its because they usually dont have that Fijian (Melanesian) blood in them which makes them more Polynesian such as myself. All Polynesians started at one island and separated to the other lands. Polynesians are 1 people.
@TrueGreatness73 Yes your right on. Polynesian is just a name that the Euro colonials gave us. Our NZ Maori, Hawaiian, Cook Islanders, Easter Islanders speak the same language. Also the language of the Tlingit native Canadian is similar. Canadian tribal elders told some European historians about the people that left for the open sea on ocean going migration very large canoes a few thousand years ago and headed southwest. Even now our native language is very similar to these people. .
@jusitke07 you ever herd of boxing heavyweight champion DAVID TUA? thats right, his Samoan. i never heard of any dane or sudanese boxing champions. try looking up guiness book of record and see who holds record for fastest coconut climbing. but thats what islanders r good at, strenght and agility and heart of a fighter so wen a sudanese or dane sees the samoan coming. they gonna need all the medals they can get. so dont wait for sound of gun to start. RUN FOREST RUN!.
@jusitke07 you ever herd of boxing heavyweight champion DAVID TUA? thats right, his Samoan. i never heard of any dane or sudanese boxing champions. try looking up guiness book of record and see who holds record for fastest coconut climbing.SAMOAN. but thats what islanders r good at, strenght and agility and heart of a fighter so wen a sudanese or dane sees the samoan coming. they gonna need all the medals they can get. so dont wait for sound of gun to start. RUN FOREST RUN!.
@670rainman Oh you're right, he won bronze medals in Summer Olympics. Gee, I wonder who defeated him to get Silver, and who got Gold. Plus, thank you for naming only one....one ;)
@jusitke07 hey bro sorry for the sarcastic comment. just mesn wit u. anyways ur right he did get bronze during sumr olympcs but this are challenges any athlete experience during their career. Dave T. for a time held the ''WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE BELT''.i wonder what happened to the gold/silver medal recepients. to islanders sports for the most part is just 4 fun. very few are serious and even less succeed. small pool of athletes to choose from to compare to big places like Sud/Dan.
@samoantoa08 Who are the Danish and Sudanese?????. Sceptics seem to forget that the Rock is Samoan, some of our best football players in Australia, NewZealand and the USA are Samoan. [Im not Samoan]. What have the Sudanese got???. A corrupt country half full of Muslim extremists and refugeez spilling into the Western world and Denmark????. A country full of Murdering butchers who kill thousands of whales evry year for the Asian market.. Polynesian countries are the best in the World.
more likely to make the NFL than any other race. But yet we are the smallest ethnicity in the US. So yeah. And just look at all the Samoan NFL players and tell me they're small idiot. So please, keep on showing me how dumb you are. And some Samoans won weightlifting medals but just not in the Olympics. Not many samoans in that sport anyway. But if we had a big enough population to make athletes for all these sports, I'm sure we'll excel in all of them. So yea. Keep on putting up stupid argume
@samoantoa08 You have to state the facts like this: From yfcasiapacific . org, "First settled more than 3000 years ago, the islands of Samoa attracted a gradual migration from South East Asia."
There see. Not that hard is it? If you constantly just throw out words without backing it up with facts then it's subjective comment.
From Healthnews . uc . edu "Published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a genetic study of 'Polynesian origins: Insights from the Y chromosome" gives scientific evidence that traces the migration of prehistoric ancestors from the heart of the agricultural mainland of Southeast Asian to the thousands of Polynesian islands that stretch 6,000 miles off the southeast coast. Conducted by researchers from China, the US, England, and Australia..."
trust me..they are not facts ..they are not conclusive at all..all it is is a new finding that will be there until they find something else..there are still other sources that state something different..they all just dispute each others theories..until the history books don't say "Polynesians are 'believed' to have come come from south east asia they are not facts at all..so try again dude
@samoantoa08 Oh they are facts all right. Pretty much, most in the educated folks from colleges and universitites know this as fact. Only the uneducated such as yourself seem to want to ignore the facts, and basically try and convince yourself that it's not true. Sad. Anyway, you have the freedom to make your imaginary world the way you want it to ideally be, but the rest of the world knows the the truth. Be proud of your South East Asian roots.
Ok. Because you did all the DNA research and everything else. Ignorant thing you. Go do some actual research bu yourself. Im fluent in samoan, tokelauan, tuvaluan, and tongan. Are you? Didn't think so. Not fluent in any Polynesian language probably. So keep on believing things when they just tell you. That's called blind faith buddy. The same way Christians believe in Christ as the Saviour.
Oh, so you just say they're fake when you don't even know it they really are. And you just say Christ is the Son of God when you don't even know if he really is. Whatever dude. You're weak-minded. Stop commenting on my comments now because you are just plain ignorant and unintelligent.
@samoantoa08 said, "you just say Christ is the Son of God when you don't even know if he really is"
Wow, so I guess you know myself better than I do. Nonetheless, you're accountable to every word you say. Plus, I'm the one providing every source of info about Pacific Islanders coming from South East Asia. You on other hand, haven't. So guess who's the "plain ignorant and unitelligent"? Yeah, I thought so.
In the Indonesian dialect Bahasa, LIMA means HANDS or 5. API means FIRE. ATUHAN means GOD(S). SEPULU means TEN. In the Samoan Languange LIMA means HANDS or 5. AFI means FIRE, ATUA means GOD, SEFULU mean 10. Need I say more...because there are more you know ;)
Okay and tell me something I don't know please. I already know that language is similar. Like, no duh dude. But that does not mean it is fact that Southeast asians became Polynesians. I'm not saying Polynesians are not Southeast Asian at all. I believe Polynesians are a mix, which I have my opinion on what the mix is, which I wont post on here. But what I'm trying to say is Polynesians didn't just descend from just S.E. Asians.
@samoantoa08 said, " I already know that language is similar. Like, no duh dude. But that does not mean it is fact that Southeast asians became Polynesians"
Linguistic evidence is one among many evidences that point Pacific Islanders to South East Asia. The term, Indonesian, Micronesian, Polynesian are misnomers from the Europeans. The actual term collectively is Austronesians. Look that up.
Like I said. Tell me something I don't know. Of course I know its collectively Austronesian. You are really annoying dude. Like I said tell me something I don't know. So far you haven't told me anything I don't know so good job on that one smart ass. And yes polynesians are considered Austronesians also. That's what they put Polynesians under. But Polynesians are also and could easily be their own race rather than a sub-race of Austronesian. So yeah. Tell me something I don't know Mr. scientist.
Not the traditional Asian as you know but Austronesians. That is according to the scientists of course. All Polynesian cultures only say their great God Tagaloa made them and then made the islands for them to live on. And then other Polynesian cultures talk about how their Patriarch or Patriarchs sailed from Samoa or Tonga, or Tahiti or etc.
They say that Polynesians didnt write anything down before, LIES! We did write history down but the Europeans burned down most of our ancient history. RongoRongo was an ancient script in Rapa Nui (easter island) that had ancient writings from God knows how far back. Also Indus Valley is another ancient civilization in India that has the same exact writings as the Rongorongo found in Rapa Nui (easter island). Polynesians traveled the world many years before European devils came to our land.
Rapa Nui has a writing system??? Oh my gosh! Is there any information about how it works ect. I mean have they decoded it and can it be read and written today??? That is amazing, but hey, Rapa Nui have a tiny island true. BUT they were probably the smartest people ever seeing as they made HUGE statues from almost nothing... I can work a computer, yeah, but can I build a statue from nothing??? Heck no! THAT, is the true human mind at work. To make something from nothing.
@GuamKomudo That writing system can be found in the Indus Valley in India. That is known as one of the oldest civilizations in the world.. When the Europeans used their guns to slave rap and steal the Polynesian peoples land they also erased most of their ancient history so I doubt anyone can read it. If so probably a few Rapa Niu people.
Do you think that since Polynesians come from Asia originally that they took that writing system from India all the way until they reached Easter Island??? o.O
why do polynesians have to have "come from somewhere else"? thats ridiculous. where did africans come from? where did asians come from? polynesian dna is found in one place and one place only.. polynesia.
@kuualoha96734 all depends on your beleifs read the bible the 12 tribes of judah it explains alot we all came from somewhere before we populated the entire earth, polynesian DNA is not only found in polynesia they are apart of the ancient Austronesians spreading from taiwan, philipines, melanesia, samoa, hawaii,NZ ect and thats a fact look it up and read.
@punakesha please educate yourself. I have researched this subject & i also contacted many DNA centers (including the top DNA center in america). They all agreed that your theory along with that of this video are incorrect. anyone who says they have dna testing with such proof is lying. To gather PROOF youd need to have dna samples from pure hawaiians, there was never any testing to pure hawaiians, if there was a test, no one required they prove pure blood. ur theory is disproved.
@kuualoha96734 I think your full of shit, then again most Americans are lol, Ok so there are no pure hawaiians left to prove it then perhaps you would like to enlighten us with your American research,Im Maori from NZ a people with a similar language culture and traditions as all Austonesians,we came from Rarotonga and Rarotongans came from Tahiti and Samoa we migrated from Island to Island over 100s of years it says so in our culture,it makes perfect sense and god didnt just put us here.
But there are still full Hawaiians, at least I thought... I'm pretty sure there are people that are still 100% Hawaiian, or was that your point??? lol I am Chamorro, my dad is, my mom is white. Chamorro is from Guam =D
All pacific Islands culture is beautiful =) Our culture was almost killed by Spain, but we are re-creating it, mostly from Oral tradition and a few Spanish books ect. Are you Hawaiian???
theres a hawaiian story about spanish explorers visiting hawai'i long before cook.. they traveled through hawai'i on their way to asia and took some hawaiians with them to asia. why are asians and whites so quick to say hawaiians are asians? dna evidence show no similar dna to asians.. OR melanesians. our dna is strictly found in polynesia.
yea..but even if they say asian its still not ur traditional asian that people think about..its the austronesians..some say the people we derived from lived in southeast china with the chines people but were different and so was sort of secregated..so they voyaged out to find their own land..first they stopped in Taiwan and from there to the Phillipines and everywhere else
captain cook didnt "find" hawai'i. we werent lost. and that aside he had a spanish map onboard his ship, this map had island in the shape of hawai'i and exact place of hawai'i. he just "claimed" hawai'i because british were big on "claiming" new lands back then.
@ArminKraft .. mauisurfer1 said he's "hawaiian at heart" .. theres no such thing as hawaiian at heart.. either you are ethnically hawaiian or not. Wishing you are hawaiian or considering yourself hawaiian when you arent, doesnt make you hawaiian.
Lets move on from blaming Europeans.Don't forget colonialism was big in those days(even today, but we choose to bomb other countries! take what we want and leave a f..... mess behind! We are Polynesians, surely, we can preserve our cultures/customs. It's up to us now! Out of all the Polynesian islands,Tonga is my fav..because Tonga is still Tonga, never been colonised, culture & customs are still going strong. The Tongan man still owns his land. Lets work together and build a better Polynesia.
@milolua Tonga is still Tonga? Everything Tonga has other Polynesians have including Cultureetc if you only knew that alot of Tonga's culture is SAMOAN.
same goes for samoa there buddy..we know out culture..and as a matter of face more samoans speak samoan fluently than tongans speaking tonagn fluently
@samoantoa08 Not a theory at all. It's a fact. Micronesians along with Polynesians came from Indonesians and the rest of South East Asia (S.E.A.) This is all proven not by archaelogical and linguistic similarities, but also Mitochondrial DNA proves that Pacific Islanders...are South East Asians. Otherwise collectively known as Austronesians.
Yea. More than likely. But that doesn't mean its the same people because it really isnt. ANd polynesians are not south east asians. I'm sorry but they are just not. People are quick to point out all the similarites but never point out where they are much different. Yea it could be we have some origins or most origins from them but I believe polynesians are a mix.
Well that's the thing smartie. No one knows for sure. But I assure you that them being from S.E.A. is not a fact. It's what you call "widely accepted". It's not a fact. It's when you can't find something out for sure and then people decide on it with the best evidences they can find which is obviously not enough and that's how it's just that-"widely accepted". Now you can go on an on but the fact of the matter is all the leading scientists are not sure. And you can ramble on but surely you don't
know the truth either. But of course you will have your opinion and that is fine. And hey, you might be right. But as of right now, nobody knows that, and it is not a "fact". So don't go about saying that.
@samoantoa08 Ah, ah, you're wrong. Scientists, Geneticists, and Linguists knows exactly where Pacific Islanders come from. According to asiapacificuniverse . com, "The Polynesian forebears were from South East Asia conclusively." According to US Dept. of State's website about Samoa's history it says, "Migrants from Southeast Asia arrived in the Samoan islands more than 2,000 years ago and from there settled the rest of Polynesia further to the east." ....more facts out there if you want them
It is not conclusive. You show me your evidence and I will show you otherwise. US department of state has that down simply to have something down and of course that is what they believe is the most likely. It does not mean it is "fact".
The europeans came as plunderers and pirates.Captain Cook was one of official England Royal plunderer. The man who start the devastation of Polynesian colonies
The problem with Europeans tha they alway denied others achievements. They felt everything in the world must start from them.If the knowledge dont exist in their society,it must be a hoax.
Mr. Kane, a native Hawaiian BTW, said it very well in 06:01, when he said that the language of the "Polynesian" all have roots in South East Asia. Hence, the Indonesians, Micronesians, Polynesians, Madagascarians, Thai, and Filipinos are collectively known today as Austronesians.
@kuualoha96734 Oh yeah check this out from zeenews dated Jan. 18th, 2008
Washington, Jan 18: A new comprehensive genetic study of almost 1,000 individuals has revealed that Polynesians' and Micronesians' closest genetic relationship is with Asians, specifically with Taiwan Aborigines and East Asians.
@jusitke07 Everything u said is true, add to wat u said, stories passed down from our ancestors, originally from israel to asia to america to the islands of rapa nui, and now we r also mixed with african&european blood. it just makes us more better people.

From amsamoatourism . com, "Linguistic and cultural evidence suggest that the first Samoa inhabitants migrated from the West, possibly by way of Indonesia"
So what were you saying again about Polynesians as a separate race [from Indonesians]? I don't think so.
jusitke07 1 year ago
way different. Polynesians are bigger for the most part and their eyes are not as squinty.
samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 Your so called "Polynesians" as bigger is a myth. If you want to see large or bigger you'd have to visit Denmark, Nigeria, Sudan and Sweden. Show me a "Polynesian" that won the world's strongest man competition. Or a Samoan winning a gold medal in the 21st century Summer or Winter Olympics....I don't think you can.
jusitke07 1 year ago
Oh yeah idiot? So have you noticed the huge population difference that allows for a lot smaller pool in every sport for Samoans? Millions of danes, nigerians, swedish, and whatever other race that has won athletic competiton medals, but there are approximately 500, 000 samoans in the whole world. Did you think of that smartass? I assure you if we had the same amount of people, we'd probably win more medals. However, we excel at football, which is a power/strength sport. A samoan is 56 times
samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 So that's the excuse? Small populace of Samoans means that there will be no winner of the world's strongest man competition or the Olympics? Pathetic excuse seriously. Anyway, I see you can't provide any source of proven info huh. Which makes your comment...false ;)
jusitke07 1 year ago
Yes that's the excuse.Tell me how many whites are in the NFL or Pro Rugby Leagues in comparison with how many of them practice the sport-very low percentage.Samoans-very high percentage.A Samoan-American is 37 times more likely to make the NFL than any other USA ethnicity. How is it a pathetic excuse? Not our fault more of us get into a sport that gets a lot more pay and is very popular in the areas where we live. What source are you looking for?

@samoantoa08 Speculations is heresay. Present the facts, and prove it.
jusitke07 11 months ago
No speculations. It's all fact buddy. You haven't proved anything to me aside from being very biased and maybe prejudice against Polynesians.
samoantoa08 11 months ago
@samoantoa08 Oh it's speculations no doubt. And I have proven my point by asking where are the world champions of strongest man, or summer & winter olympic games, or most beautiful persons, or tallest human beings in the world (records show Denmark & Sudan hold that record, not Samoans), and where are the champions of Iron Man competitions from Samoa? Answer: None.
jusitke07 11 months ago
I'm talking about at an average buddy? Do you understand what that means? Median? Cause I can tell u random Samoan can whoop any Dane or Sudanese. And you stating those does not make them fact boy. U've not proving anything but ur stupidity.
samoantoa08 11 months ago
@samoantoa08 POOHAHA!! I'd like to see evidence of a Samoan whooping a Dane or a Sudanese when in fact both there are many Danes and Sudanese that can whoop Samoans in the Olympic games with medals. Any Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals from Samoa? I don't think so.
jusitke07 11 months ago
Thats the thing.U cant base it off of the olympics on sports that Samoans barely participate in.Like I said, u have to compare the different in populations here and I don't think u can fathom that.U even comparing it by medals when those people have at the least thousands but more like millions more participants than Samoans or Polynesians as a whole even shows me ur biased and might not understand. But im telling u the average Samoan is stronger than prolly any other ethnicity's.
samoantoa08 11 months ago
@samoantoa08 Uh, yes you can. Actions speaks way louder than words and the Olympics proves that. Samoans speaks a lot of rhetorics, but no action.
P.S. "prolly" is actually spelled "probably"....do I dare say that Samoans can't spell too?
jusitke07 11 months ago
@jusitke07 A medal means nothing. Like the guy was saying...compare the difference in the population. A medal is given to an athlete for his or her achievement in a specific sport. Polynesians did not invent the Olympic games or the world championships in any sport. And by the way you are wrong. The Rock was a world champion wrestler. Hes also a Samoan. Some of the best footballers in the world are polynesians and Australian natives. So what if the polynesian athlete dont win many medals.
176709 8 months ago
@176709 That's not the point. There are ignorants that say the Samoans never came from South East Asia, and that they were just there and that they're better people than the South East Asians. Bullcrap. DNA, linguistic similarities, cultural similarities, and Archaelogical evidence says alot about ALL Pacific Islanders coming from South East Asia.
jusitke07 8 months ago
176709 8 months ago
@176709 said, "DNA results are questionable"
Cheers :)
jusitke07 8 months ago
@jusitke07 There is evidence that there was a migration from South America. There is a relationship with South America. DNA cannot prove a migration and where did they come from. Polynesians share similar DNA to those indigenous people of South East Asia which doesnt necessarily mean they are their ancestos. It doesnt mean they are the same Polynesians have a connection with South America and DNA proves that but doesnt show where the migrations went.
TrueGreatness73 8 months ago
@jusitke07 How do YOU know???. Your the ignorant one. Didnt you know that the forebearer of the Native American were from Asia and Siberia. They migrated over the submerged Bering land bridge during the last ice age. Over a few thousand years they populated what is now North America including Canada, Hawaii and other Pacific coasts islands eg Vancouver Island etc., plus some of the Carribean Islands. That is where the Asian link is, Not thru Indonesia. Some also did make it to South America
176709 8 months ago
@176709 I guess you didn't look thru the Austronesian language comparisons. Well, let me give it you directly instead:
Tatak (Tagalog) means scratch into or painful scratch. Sounds like Tatau in Samoan. Atuhan (Bahasa) means gods/god, which really sounds like Atua in Samoan. Lima in most Malay language means the number 5 or hand, sounds familia? yup, that's right, it exactly like Samoan 5 or hand. Sepulu means ten in Bahasa, like sefulu in Samoan. Api means fire, life Afi in Samoan...need more?
jusitke07 8 months ago
@176709 Your not sure about the Tongans, Samoans and fijians?? First off Fijian is Melanesian not Polynesian and many Tongans are mixed with Fijians which make them darker in color. If you see light skin Tongans its because they usually dont have that Fijian (Melanesian) blood in them which makes them more Polynesian such as myself. All Polynesians started at one island and separated to the other lands. Polynesians are 1 people.
TrueGreatness73 8 months ago
@TrueGreatness73 Yes your right on. Polynesian is just a name that the Euro colonials gave us. Our NZ Maori, Hawaiian, Cook Islanders, Easter Islanders speak the same language. Also the language of the Tlingit native Canadian is similar. Canadian tribal elders told some European historians about the people that left for the open sea on ocean going migration very large canoes a few thousand years ago and headed southwest. Even now our native language is very similar to these people. .

more likely to make the NFL than any other race. So yea. Keep on putting up stupid argume
samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 You have to state the facts like this: From yfcasiapacific . org, "First settled more than 3000 years ago, the islands of Samoa attracted a gradual migration from South East Asia."
There see. Not that hard is it? If you constantly just throw out words without backing it up with facts then it's subjective comment.
jusitke07 1 year ago
From Healthnews . uc . edu "Published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a genetic study of 'Polynesian origins: Insights from the Y chromosome" gives scientific evidence that traces the migration of prehistoric ancestors from the heart of the agricultural mainland of Southeast Asian to the thousands of Polynesian islands that stretch 6,000 miles off the southeast coast. Conducted by researchers from China, the US, England, and Australia..."
See I told you :)
jusitke07 1 year ago
trust me..they are not facts ..they are not conclusive at all..all it is is a new finding that will be there until they find something else..there are still other sources that state something different..they all just dispute each others theories..until the history books don't say "Polynesians are 'believed' to have come come from south east asia they are not facts at all..so try again dude
samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 Oh they are facts all right. Pretty much, most in the educated folks from colleges and universitites know this as fact. Only the uneducated such as yourself seem to want to ignore the facts, and basically try and convince yourself that it's not true. Sad. Anyway, you have the freedom to make your imaginary world the way you want it to ideally be, but the rest of the world knows the the truth. Be proud of your South East Asian roots.

In the Indonesian dialect Bahasa, LIMA means HANDS or 5. API means FIRE. ATUHAN means GOD(S). SEPULU means TEN. In the Samoan Languange LIMA means HANDS or 5. AFI means FIRE, ATUA means GOD, SEFULU mean 10. Need I say more...because there are more you know ;)
jusitke07 1 year ago
Okay and tell me something I don't know please. I already know that language is similar. Like, no duh dude. But that does not mean it is fact that Southeast asians became Polynesians. I'm not saying Polynesians are not Southeast Asian at all. I believe Polynesians are a mix, which I have my opinion on what the mix is, which I wont post on here. But what I'm trying to say is Polynesians didn't just descend from just S.E. Asians.
samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 said, " I already know that language is similar. Like, no duh dude. But that does not mean it is fact that Southeast asians became Polynesians"
Linguistic evidence is one among many evidences that point Pacific Islanders to South East Asia. The term, Indonesian, Micronesian, Polynesian are misnomers from the Europeans. The actual term collectively is Austronesians. Look that up.
jusitke07 1 year ago
Like I said. Tell me something I don't know. Of course I know its collectively Austronesian. You are really annoying dude. Like I said tell me something I don't know. So far you haven't told me anything I don't know so good job on that one smart ass. And yes polynesians are considered Austronesians also. That's what they put Polynesians under. Not the traditional Asian as you know but Austronesians. That is according to the scientists of course. All Polynesian cultures only say their great God Tagaloa made them and then made the islands for them to live on. And then other Polynesian cultures talk about how their Patriarch or Patriarchs sailed from Samoa or Tonga, or Tahiti or etc.
samoantoa08 1 year ago
They say that Polynesians didnt write anything down before, LIES! We did write history down but the Europeans burned down most of our ancient history. RongoRongo was an ancient script in Rapa Nui (easter island) that had ancient writings from God knows how far back. Also Indus Valley is another ancient civilization in India that has the same exact writings as the Rongorongo found in Rapa Nui (easter island). Polynesians traveled the world many years before European devils came to our land.
TrueGreatness73 1 year ago
Rapa Nui has a writing system??? Oh my gosh! Is there any information about how it works ect. I mean have they decoded it and can it be read and written today??? That is amazing, but hey, Rapa Nui have a tiny island true. BUT they were probably the smartest people ever seeing as they made HUGE statues from almost nothing... I can work a computer, yeah, but can I build a statue from nothing??? Heck no! THAT, is the true human mind at work. To make something from nothing.
GuamKomudo 1 year ago
@GuamKomudo That writing system can be found in the Indus Valley in India. That is known as one of the oldest civilizations in the world.. When the Europeans used their guns to slave rap and steal the Polynesian peoples land they also erased most of their ancient history so I doubt anyone can read it. If so probably a few Rapa Niu people.
TrueGreatness73 1 year ago
Do you think that since Polynesians come from Asia originally that they took that writing system from India all the way until they reached Easter Island??? o.O

They all agreed that your theory along with that of this video are incorrect. anyone who says they have dna testing with such proof is lying. theres a hawaiian story about spanish explorers visiting hawai'i long before cook.. they traveled through hawai'i on their way to asia and took some hawaiians with them to asia. why are asians and whites so quick to say hawaiians are asians? dna evidence show no similar dna to asians.. OR melanesians. our dna is strictly found in polynesia.
kuualoha96734 1 year ago
yea..but even if they say asian its still not ur traditional asian that people think about..its the austronesians..some say the people we derived from lived in southeast china with the chines people but were different and so was sort of secregated..so they voyaged out to find their own land..first they stopped in Taiwan and from there to the Phillipines and everywhere else
samoantoa08 1 year ago
captain cook didnt "find" hawai'i. we werent lost. and that aside he had a spanish map onboard his ship, this map had island in the shape of hawai'i and exact place of hawai'i. he just "claimed" hawai'i because british were big on "claiming" new lands back then.

We are Polynesians, surely, we can preserve our cultures/customs. It's up to us now! Out of all the Polynesian islands,Tonga is my fav..because Tonga is still Tonga, never been colonised, culture & customs are still going strong. The Tongan man still owns his land. Otherwise collectively known as Austronesians.
jusitke07 1 year ago
Yea. More than likely. But that doesn't mean its the same people because it really isnt. ANd polynesians are not south east asians. I'm sorry but they are just not. People are quick to point out all the similarites but never point out where they are much different. Yea it could be we have some origins or most origins from them but I believe polynesians are a mix.
samoantoa08 1 year ago

samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 Oh really? Then do tell me where exactly did the Samoans and/or Pacific Islanders come from....
jusitke07 1 year ago
Well that's the thing smartie. No one knows for sure. But I assure you that them being from S.E.A. is not a fact. It's what you call "widely accepted". It's not a fact. It's when you can't find something out for sure and then people decide on it with the best evidences they can find which is obviously not enough and that's how it's just that-"widely accepted". Now you can go on an on but the fact of the matter is all the leading scientists are not sure. And you can ramble on but surely you don't
samoantoa08 1 year ago
know the truth either. But of course you will have your opinion and that is fine. And hey, you might be right. But as of right now, nobody knows that, and it is not a "fact". So don't go about saying that.
samoantoa08 1 year ago
@samoantoa08 Ah, ah, you're wrong. Scientists, Geneticists, and Linguists knows exactly where Pacific Islanders come from. According to asiapacificuniverse . com, "The Polynesian forebears were from South East Asia conclusively." According to US Dept. of State's website about Samoa's history it says, "Migrants from Southeast Asia arrived in the Samoan islands more than 2,000 years ago and from there settled the rest of Polynesia further to the east." ....more facts out there if you want them
jusitke07 1 year ago
It is not conclusive. You show me your evidence and I will show you otherwise. US department of state has that down simply to have something down and of course that is what they believe is the most likely. It does not mean it is "fact".
