I don't know rome is awsome I'll give you that but Medieval 2 built on Rome's success and added to it with more balanced unit strength and better diplomacy to name a few

The problem with medieval 2 is simply that it isn't Rome. It's not bad, but just doesn't beat Rome.

Well, in terms of pure gameplay, Rome is better. The units take orders and complete them faster compared to troops in medieval 2, and bugs are really rare. In medieval the cavalry bugged every other time.

And, yes many of them have been fixed with patches, but still the gameplay isnt as good.

Then, I personally just do like the Roman history and culture warfare etc. over medieval.

They tried to make the battles more realistic by having a delay because really you can't expect everyone to move at unison at the exact same speed. Also Rome wasn't without its annoying bugs. Like chasing down fleeing enemies was a nightmare in Rome because the unit got seperated at times and your chasing calvary couldn't make up its mind about whether to go after the fleeing soldiers behind it or in front of it
