I know these videos are deplorable and I shouldn't be defending her but she is kind of right about using a metronome for tuning. Some metronomes can play the 440 hz tone (which is an A) and that's what I think she's trying to describe

I took your advice and tuned my violin to my metronome. All the strings now go 'click, click, click, click' perfectly. I am very happy with the result, and now plan to take my violin and join the percussion section.

One of the best violin instruction videos are from a man with a channel called ProfessorV. Violin Lesson #35 of his Youtube lesson series deals with tuning.

I watch the ProfessorV tutorials for information on developing my violin technique. I watch Amy Oliver videos for amusement.

when you're turning the pegs, make sure you are pushing the pegs slightly into the violin.

these pegs are like cones, it will only remain in the tight position if its tight by being pushed further into the hole.

Never use a chromatic tuner!

A chromatic tuner uses the just-temperament system of intonation (like a piano). All half steps are equal and pitches are universally established. The violin is meant to use Pythagorean intonation, where the relationship between the notes and thus their actually frequencies change. You must have your teacher tune your violin to the true perfect 5ths or else if you use a chromatic tuner the fifths will be slightly narrow and thus destroy your left hand fingering!
