  • I said a real midget, the ones that run on the quarter and half mile ovals. Meaning the old days, of course now, some cars have self starters. Roger Ward, I saw him run the midget at Meadowdale Raceway, a road course. For three years, I owned a Kurtis Kraft midget with a Chevy II engine. Also, for one year, had a rail frame V8-60 Ford.

  • @rdada not sure why you sound so disparaging about this kurtis, I think its great to see it run against the other type of cars. I also raced midgets in real competition,not vintage, for 15 years with usac bcra,usrc, and others,won quite a few races as well, so I think I speak with a little knowledge about midgets.my very first midget was a rail frame ford v8 60 so we have something in common.lucky you seeing ward at meadowdale, too bad the suspension failed. cheers

  • A real midget has no clutch. It has no sequential gear box. A midget is either in gear, or out of gear.
