Set neck , 22 frets , dual humbucker with single coil in the middle , coil tappeble humbuckers , 5 way toggle , hardtail , naturel finish , and crome wardware , that would be Killer =D
and the neck isnt going to be too thin is it my friend has a ibanez rg serries and i find the neck a bit too thin so a little bit fatter than that would be also be nice... a vote maybe ?
i duno i'm not like telling you what to do or any thing but still...
I'm surprised everybody is voting for the set neck option, it would awesome to have a mahogany single cut with a bolt on maple neck, best of both worlds. Surely it would be easier and cheaper to make meaning money could be spent elsewhere. Another option that would be great is a button to route the signal straight to the bridge humbuker, like the new Strats have and the Guthrie Govan Surh, more useful than a kill switch

Why have so many people just voted to create an LP replica? If we're going for the LP shape, lets at least mix things up a little. Else there's no point in not just getting a second hand Tokai.
Nubs, vote for 2 tone pots. If you really don't like it, you can take one out and use the already made hole for a killswitch or w/e. And plz vote for pickup switch UNDER strings. Switches above the strings get in the way when you're tapping!
Chappers you are great. Thank you so much for doing this...i hope I´ll be one of the lucky 250. btw...do ou still have ml1 for sale? I´d like to be the first Dane to have one :-)
Also, definatly don't paint over the neck, leave it with a think laquer like the ML1. I'm not really a fan of LP style bodys, if it were going to be any shape other than that, I'd probably buy one, but because of this, I'm leaning towards the ML1 alot more right now.
Its a shame theres no Floyd Rose option in the vote, that could have make this guitar freakishly awesome! Not that without one the guitar wouldn't be awesome.
@RobChappers Um, Rob? Willthese Affordable Customs be limited? Cus I want something with a set neck, Floyd Rose, 24.75 scale and a killswitch. The only guitar that comes close to this is a Dean ML Knight 549 GBP (and even then I'd need to install a kill switch)! So, yeah, if I can get something like that with your name on for a price close to the ML. Then, yeah, I'd choose a CAF (Chappers Affordable Custom)
Well, I have just reserved one ML2 for me. It is going to be the best Xmas gift ever.
I agree with most of the ideas. The only one I think that should be considered is having a glued neck because gives way more sustain. I know that when you got a bolt on neck is easier to paint. We must think about the sound of the guitar, which is the most important part. That is why I stick with the glued neck!
I desperatly want a ML2 and I would die to get one...
But I guess dying isn't enough... I have about € 200 (no idea how much that is in pounds) and I'm doing everything I can to earn more: I washed the car a couple of times, I cleaned my little sisters room, I threatened my Grandma, ...
But I stil haven't got enough to buy an ML2 and I ran out of inspration...
Have you thought about sending the ML1, Ghost Fret and (soon to be) ML2 around the guitar publications I.E guitar buyer and guitarist. Most people read reviews before buying guitars obviously and i think if the ML1 and Ghost Fret are as great as people say they are you can only benefit in sales and exposure. Hope this comes in handy.
Hi All - it's Captain Anderton here!! I have listed the shipping cost to most countries in the world on the ML2 page on our site. If your country is not listed, then just email us & tell us where you want it shipped to & we'll email you back a quote. Don't ask Chappers for shipping prices cos he doesn't know!!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THE WAY THIS WORKS!!! gotta get some thin neck thru guitars goin on with active pups 24 frets with an origional floyd! tht would be a dream guitar for me
@MechaSixVII Ha ha me to mate, can't wait to see how it turns out after all the voting it's like watching 1000's of dudes decide what to get me for xmas ha ha ;-)
Wow, a glue in Gibson style set neck is so outdated but it's winning. Maybe if it was a good no heel, PRS type set neck I'd vote set but come on, the big heel Gibson style is lame and unpractical. And no 27 fret option? Or a Parker style modern body choice? I'm sorry, but it's looking too old school for me. I don't normally prefer singlecuts and this one is turning into an outdated style one.
@ibanezdudeck some call it outdated and some call it classic. although i agree on the neck idea , some just like it as they grew up around that style of neck.
i think i am going to reserve one soon!!! i live in newfoundland canada!!!!! and i love your other guitars and i cant wait to see the ML2 im a big fan of that shape !!!! i wouldnt mind knowing the price for me befor reserving one lol!!!!!
no dude... the actual physics behind it is solid... the best sound comes from neck through...
the fact that the neck and body are made from the same piece of wood and unseperated means that the harmonic resonance is the exact same...
same type of wood but not in the same cut (i.e. set neck or bolt on) causes interference paterns in harmonic resonance ... reducing quality... and this is even worse if the bolt on neck is a different type of wood to the body...
I understand that man, but the 'best sound' is completly subjective, and regardless of physics, some people actually prefer the sound of bolt on necks, I'm not saying that it resonates as well, but that dosn't mean that you can't prefer it, surely you understand that.
yeah man... everything on earths quality is down to personal opinion... i mean... people actually listen to chipmonks singing :| lol ;p
i was just ranting cos i was disappointed at the lack of a neck-thru option :( ... suppose it might be too hard to make... or they just ruled it out cos damage to neck = new guitar needed...
Yeah, that's the only bad thing about neck-thru I suppose, I'm just not really drawn to them for some reason, I like bolt on, or really well carved glue in. I just don't like Les Pauls man, they just feel wrong in my hands. They sound good though. I wan't a strat, but I also want a mahogany guitar, though it won't sound like a strat, an ML1 seems very appealing.
definately 24, but only if you can actually reach them not like my ltd ec-100 where the last 2 frets are just there laughing at my poor attempts to reach them..
Chappers, every day I watch your videos. And I think that your brand new company is completely awesome. I'd really love to purchase one your guitars, but there is a big problem: I live in Brazil!
Dear Chappers, a natural oiled finish, 24 fret, set through neck like a schecter, black or chrome/nickel etc. hardware, jumbo frets, 3 on a side headstock, 1 volume 1 tone, pickup selector in the place gibson puts theirs, optional floyd rose, pickups don't matter to me i have an extra set of duncans laying around, would be AWSOME. I will definatly buy one either way! - Joe
Collaborative design is awesome and more companies should listen to the people that actually BUY their guitars. Unfortunately if you're not in the majority you lose.. maybe next time around I can have a Chapman guitar.
What I think about the collaborative design process? I'm not sure. Too many cooks tend to spoil the broth. On the other hand, democracy is better than dictatorship. ;)
No neck inlays at all. Natural oiled finish on body and neck, bolt on neck, jumbo frets, 3-a-side headstock design, all black hardware, DiMarzio PAF in neck & bridge mounted direct to the body (no rings) with coil taps switching, single volume control for both buckers (no tone pots), pickup selector switch on lower 'horn', piezo system with dual outputs...
Too bad the ML1 is only limited production, I would like to get one in the future :( I'm sure the ML2 is gonna be great, I'm just not a big fan of single cuts, I find them uncomfortable to play. I must admit though, they are a good looking design.
can i have a custom(V neck shape,EMGs,floyd rose,27 frets,flying v)?

Im CURRENTLY looking for a single cut guitar. . . . . . anyways
. 24 frets - there is a lack of single cut guitars with 24 frets, also its just nice to have that very high E
. it would be nice if the neck doesnt get painted over like a traditional single cut.
. rosewood finger board if possible.
.XL jumbo frets if possible .
there all the things i would be overly concerned about dude :) keep on rocking!

*crosses fingers and prays.....

Too bad the ML1 is only limited production, I would like to get one in the future :( I'm sure the ML2 is gonna be great, I'm just not a big fan of single cuts, I find them uncomfortable to play. I must admit though, they are a good looking design.
