Great artists like Pissarro do not need individual critics or admirers to add such epithets to their names. Laicity should govern the art world especially when it gets to geniuses like him. I am sure he would have disagreed to have been segragated or categorised in such a way. Why don't we just stick to his greatness, no revendication, no religion or cast categories are necessary to be added, let us remain humble at the sight of such excellence in the same way he probably was.

  • beautiful video i enjoy it very much --thank's bestjonbon

  • Pissarro born at Holland Antilles descends from portuguese families. The name Pissarro is portuguese not spanish, (Pizarro). The portuguese has the proud to be represent by this wonderfull artist. As curiosity.

  • Was it necessary to mention that he was Jewish? Pissaro was first of all French wasn't he?

  • Yes, originally this was part of a collection called "My Favorite Jewish Artists." Only later, did I start mentioning them by country instead.

  • @philippecolin151

What you have against the mentioning the fact that Pissaro was Jewish?

    Speak clear!

  • Thanks very much for this wonderful video. I did'nt know Pissarro until now... He is surely one of my favourite artists. Greetings from a cold and rainy Holland, Ben

  • beautiful.. thanks:)

  • 1:27 - impression - Monet ???

    or Pissaro???

  • Oops, Monet. His "Impression: Sunrise." How did that get in there? Afraid I messed up a bit.

    Cheers, John

  • sorry :)

    hi from Bulgaria

  • I can't say which is my best one, maybe 4:14 o 4:17 .. thank you

  • Yes, his landscapes are lovely!

  • Music sounds very nice with these picture!

may I know who play it.

  • Yes, the music is Pavanne, played by Gabriel Fauré. He's very good, isn't he?

  • Now this is a superb presentation- lots of paintings, no frills, music that doesn't detract or overwhelm, full images, good colour etc- why can't more on youtube get these things right? But what's Monet doing there at 1:27

  • It slipped in from one of my other files. You have a good eye. And a quick one. Sorry about the foul-up.

  • nice video just the same. i would leave it in there just to spark some more interest. lol- nice job.

  • nice video. did i see a Monet thrown in there?

  • Yes, You and another viewer caught it. Just a slip-up. It walked over from one of my other files while I was putting it together. I should have caught it, but didn't.

    Cheers, John

  • one of my favorite painters. thanks for posting

  • You are most welcome. Thanks for stopping by...

  • Adoro Pissarro!

  • Yes, I cherish him too!

  • Un de mes peintre préféré. Une sorte de naiveté dans la forme mais une grande intensité dans les couleurs.

  • Je suis d'accord. Il était comme un père chiffre à un si grand nombre des impressionnistes. Tout un héritage!

  • A fine video of Camille Pissarro works, pleasing on the eye and ear. Great Post Thanks.

  • Thanks, GenericGene. I did several videos on artists, but Pissarro is special to me, too. Come by and visit any time.

    Cheers, John

  • How peaceful.... Everything and everybody is in a peaceful atmosphere, even crowded cities are peaceful. The paintings with the points (pointilisme) are so so so great, especially the one in green and blue and light, so much de-light, o, I would he could come back on earth and paint this planet into peace...

  • hello my name is Dotahn Pissaro. i am the great great grandson of camille, i am glad you like him

  • Very beautiful Thank you for sharing. ;O)

    Happy New year.
