@awesomeahow You have to try a few times to get it he just go lucky. I took me well over 10 resets to get a gold chocobo. Just make sure your stats are maxed out and your in atleast the A class (if you really want to increase your luck go for the S class)

In Last Scenario such an HP-MP swap item would be ridiculously useful, since the game has a Limit Break-type spell that uses all MP for a single attack. And there are no damage caps.

Knights of the Round don't work with Quadra Magic, but Bahamut ZERO does.

Knights of the Round can be used with W-Summon tho, and if you do max damage with it, that's still gonna be 260.000 damage, then you can just keep miming it and do 260.000 each time it's casted because mime include then W-Summon effect.

@thebirdmaner You need to go to the Gold saucer and race you Chocobo to improve the ranks. But if you want to get a Gold Chocobo there is a lot of work you need to do with breeding and racing. Try to look up a walkthrough.

Leveling a character to level 99 gives him 30,000

Safer Sephiroth's maximum HP is 400,000, enough to withstand several KOTR.

@x360wizard You have to use your primary limit breaks a certain amount of times to unlock other ones. Or have that particular character kill a certain number of enemies. Try going into Fury and fighting lots, letting that character get the kills or letting big groups of enemies hit him a lot to use the Limit Breaks more.

@x360wizard i had that problem, but if you got the mega-all materia (cant remember where yu get, think maybe ancient forest, but its a Must have as its brilliant) just go to areas with low level monsters what come in mutiples and have cloud equip his strongest weapon (for better strength remove all magic materia if you want) and have him use slash all, and it should kill them all in one hit, even though little mandragora's (this also helps when you go to battle arena)

Reason why Gold and Black Chocobos are better then a wounderful chocobo even though it got way better stats. Well on the tracks there are actully 1 Mountain part and a Water part where the chocobo will slow down even if you dash. If you got a Black or golden you won't slow down. ;) btw if you got 999 Stamina do the shot track over and over and dash from the last piller and you will win 99% of the time.

Actually I read that you don't have to race up to Rank S to get the Gold Chocobo, if you get them to Rank A you can still get the Gold Chocobo. In my last playthrough which I finished last week, I got the Wonderful and Black Chocobos' to rank A, and after like a couple times reseting my save file I got the Gold Chocobo. Granted S Classes can mate to get the Gold Chocobo easier then A Class, but I'm just saying it's possible to get the Gold Chocobo if they are A as well.

I did this a few years back...at some point, you have to breed an 'S' or 'A' rank chocobo with a 'C' rank chocobo to get the gold one, if memory serves...if you need more help with this, I have a full walkthrough. I can look it up for you, if you like. :)

As for the Japanese version of the game, they intended to have those bosses (as evidenced by the FMVs and a certain materia being dummied out), but ran out of time. The English localization, OTOH, had extra time, so they managed to also add some features, including those bosses. if you use a certain materia enough, itll level up. if its at its maximum level, master, it wont level up anymore but you will get a 2nd materia exactly like that at lvl 0. this can be done with every materia except for enemy skill i think

Tsk, c'mon HC, powergaming above and beyond the call of duty is practically a cliche for FF games. Even the very first one was completely breakable for the determined. The master class, for instance, could one-hit anything in the game at a high enough level. And they didn't even use equipment! It only gets worse the farther in the series you go, thus KotR. But...yeah. Not for normal gameplay.

From what I've heard, Ruby and Emerald were added to the American version to make up for everything they cut out of the original. Why they thought they would make up for more story, I don't know.

Mime is definately one of the best materia alongside Enemy Skill. You can basically mime your own limit break over and over and over again. Cloud can spam Omnislash in one battle if you wanted to by skipping over the other two characters.

There are actually only two characters capable of performing the damage overflow glitch. One is Vincent, who needs 66635 (probably a little off on that number) kills to max out the weapon Death Penalty's power and the other character is Barret. His weapon works on the AP of all the materia in the weapon. The Knights of the Round materia has the most AP in the game, so if you were to master 8 of those, put them all into Barret's ultimate weapon then he would be capable of performing the overflow.
