You say that he is "macho, in other words, normal". Does this mean that non-masculine gay and bisexual men are ABnormal, deviant? Don't they deserve to be admired as well for their courage. A lot of lgbt people can't hide their sexual orientation and/or gender variance and even in 2011 they still get shit for it. Just be conscious of that.

@BigBlueLion My point is we should admire EVERYONE who comes out and not just those of us who are perceived by the media as fitting in with society's norms of how a man or woman should look/act like. When I grew up there were v. few masculine gb men in the media. It makes me so happy that people in the sporting world now feel like they can open up. However, we must never forget the brave men and women who came before them and made all this possible.

I mean how many ppl come out and we already new there was a good chance they were gay?-----By Anton coming out ppl who dont get the whole "gay" thing will see that anyone can be gay not just the sterotype. ------Anton has come out in a very homophobic "workplace" were the odds are there most be hundreds more gay sports ppl and maybe now they will follow Anton's bravery and not be so afraid that it will destroy their whole career etc. RESPECT.

@BigBlueLion When I was growing up, I knew I was gay but my life has never revolved around being gay. Being gay is only one small facet of who I am. The only ones I saw who were openly gay were the flamboyant ones who had the balls to be "in your face" gay. That wasn't me. Today I'd be described as "straight acting", like Anton, (is that equal to "not gay acting"? or opposite of "femme"??.

Things are a lot better now and people are more open to the idea of diversity in terms of gender expression amongst q ppl. That can only be a good thing and I'm not trying to downplay the importance of that.
