i love studebaker larks. When I was a kid around 1966ish my best friends older brother had one. It had the coolest color combination. The exterior was a medium light brown.....like coffee with half cream in it ...and the interior was red and white. Sounds crazy.....but it looked real good.
Thing is, all of these cars are rot buckets... This is in hot, humid Florida. George is one of the best Stude mechanics I know, and has a shop full of nice Studebakers, however. :)
Thats a small lot of Studebakers. Goto Northern Indiana and there is a guy that has literally over 300 Studebakers sitting outside rotting waiting for him to strip the parts off and scrap what can't be saved.

I can understand where your comming from. I'm just saying to save whatever cars and or parts we can. In Hemmings Car Magazine they restore cars that are in worse shape.
Yes, that is the rotted remains of a '53-'54 Commander HT. It has a Stude V8, and when we ran the #'s, it appreared to be a 50's truck engine. The trans is supposedly a T-10 4 speed, but I don't think George has checked it out yet.
Thanks! The owner of this junkyard has quite a few restored Studebakers as well. My favorite car that he owns is an all original 1938 Commander State 4 door. Everything's original, including paint and interior.
