@davidls11 Word. These "boyfriends/rivals for the love interests of the Main Female Companion" (aka Mickey, Adam, Jack, Rory) just don't cut it. I mean they're not bad characters, besides Adam, I'd just like a male companion who, like Jamie, travelled with the Doctor for the adventure and because he was a real friend.
I love Jamie and 2nd Doctor and the father/son relationship they had. I remember seeing a special about the lost episodes with Hines in it and he still looked great. (It was from 1999 and he was 55 years old. I'm not kidding. He was born in 1944!) The one episode I would have loved to have seen was The Highlanders. That was Jamie's first episode but, sadly, it's one of the lost episodes. :(
Jamie and the Second Doctor are my favourite companion and Doctor, as well. It's such a shame that so many of the episodes were destroyed. (Think of all those wonderful clips we could be missing out on for videos such as these. :D )
Brilliant. Just brilliant. I love the opening. It's such a shame that most of the Patrick Troughton era was lost. He was a fantastic actor, and it was apparent in almost everything he did. I agree wholeheartedly with warg29 - the chemistry between the Doctor and Jamie is what made the series so appealing to so many viewers. Thanks for posting the video!
Haha, that was wonderfully energetic. They are completely adorable together, aren't they.. And the 'secret' of why they made such a fabulous double-act was of course that Troughton and Hines were in fact excellent friends and their great chemistry really showed in their characters' interaction. Such good sense of fun. The new series should really give another shout-out to the Doctor's most loyal companion.
I agree with you, warg29, I would love to see Jamie on the new series. It would answer the question to if Jamie survived the Battle of Culloden. I mean if Peter Davison can do it then I bet Frazer Hines would love to come back.
Yeah, but what happened AFTER the Two Doctors? Did the Time Lords just drop him off at Culloden again or put him back in the time he was when they picked him up if it was years later? And it would be nice to see an older Jamie. He'd be floored to see how young the Doctor looks now! :)
I heard that the Timelords used the Second doctor to their advantage seeing as he was in exile , and placed him in the Two Doctors , and the diffriention between him and the 6th doctor gave him grey hair (See TimeCrash for explanation) everything was reset as it was in the War Games ending when he continued exile
@spikelilgirl Frazer has mentioned that he'd love to come back if they'd have him.
'The production team obviously care very much about [the new Doctor Who], and I’d love to have the opportunity to work with them at some point. If they asked, I’d come back to play Jamie like a shot! He was such a great character and I’ve had so much fun reprising the role recently for Big Finish in their audio plays.'
It's about time the Doctor had another male companion.

Unfortunately my new haircut makes me look a little like Jamie, and I don't even get a Doctor for it.

"I'm Dr James McCrimmon." Never noticed that before. See, he doesn't just move on and forget them.

He did - he was in the Two Doctors, remember? We don't know how long it was between then and the doctor's genuine regeneration and exile to earth.

He'd probably take it in his stride. Overthinking things was never Jamie's forte.
