  • ... Coming from a 16 year old boy. If I'm smart enough to realize the truth then why can't everyone else be?

  • @joe72907290 the way I see it if u dont support our troops why dont u stand in front of them?

  • @drinkcocacola741 you see it wrong. i support the troops, thus i want them home and out of harms way. if you support them why dont YOU stand in front of them?

  • I just love how true spoken this song is. It has so much heart and meaning.

And I'd love to see how all the people who don't support the military would react if the Taliban walked up and knocked on their door and told them to leave or raped them or their families or even killed them. If it wasn't for our military, we'd all be worshiping Ala or speaking Chinese. Our military is the only thing holding us together.

God bless America and the brave men and women who defend us.

    Btw, this is all c

  • @joe72907290 what the hell are you talking about? what iraqi has ever harmed you or your family? invading their sovereign land and raping them and killing them like we're doing at their home is awful. if they did it to us it would be awful too. aint no muslim country trying to invade us you dumb paranoid piece of shit. my grandfather stormed the beaches and he's so ashamed of today's military.

  • Love this song because its so godam true I just thank god every morning I was able to get a job and provide.

  • love this song

  • Thank you IraqVet for your service for all of us. The "indulged pampered" people's selfish attitude is not what this country was founded on. I am a Christian and I am very touched by the words of this song and your sentiments. May Almighty God bless you and your family and may you know that everyone is not totally self-centered to the detriment of anyone who stands in their way. Grew up in very blue collar family and this song rings straight to my heart. I hope you have a job & if not soon.

  • @HonktyTonkMan Thank you very much for your words. I am just tired of seeing people downgrade and disrespect the foundation this country was built upon. I am angered at those who say the Military does not deserve any recognition. I know there are only a select few people in the states that put us down and it is usually fuckin hippies. Peace was founded by War and War was founded on the idea of peace.

  • @6XIraqiVet Merle said it best "I read about some squirlly guy who claim he just don't believe in fightin, and I wonder just how long the rest of us can count of being free"

Thank you for your service brother, words cannot express the gratitude our soldiers deserve. A lot of People seem to forget that we where attacked on our soil, they seem to forget that America does not surrender nor do we negotiate with terrorist, there is no compromise. We will fight the taliban until we defeat them.

  • @HKUSPMARKSMAN Thank you for your words and your dedication to this great nation. A lot more people should follow in our footsteps and support the foundation of this great nation. We need to get back to the years after the great depression and unite as a nation to ward off enemies and home grown terrorists. I am sick of hearing our government this and our government that. Well we can never lose the ability. I want nothing but greatness for this country. Thank you for your service.

  • 3 you daddy

  • Well first off Military Members do not get to choose who they protect. If I could have spent all 39 1/2 months I have spent in Iraq defending who I wanted to, then I would have felt my job was complete and would not have to come home to self indulged pampered fuckin people. Americans have a choice. Feel free to stand in front of me when the bullets fly. Those who put the military down and tell us that we are pawns in the totality of government make me sick. Fuck those against America!

  • I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to say I like this song.

  • Well there are a few comments on here which saying "This Song Suck's" or I don't get it; which is why we are the United States; Land of the Free you got that right to have that view. I will say though, I don't understand this view I mean REALLY!!!! the lyrics. You don't have a job or lack there of; where your family, children, wife don't count on you for the house, and buying groceries or taking the kids to the doctor I am glad you are in that position to not have to shoulder that responsibility.

  • i think i broke the replay button or froze my computer

  • this song sucks ass

  • @cool81586 and you suck dick but we don't say anything.....

  • this is really true for the real hard working low class americans goes to show you how our economy is

  • I love this song it really makes sense these days...

  • This song describes my brother n law.. He's like my dad and he's in the is army :)

  • This song is weird.....

  • Ronnie Dunn is in my opinion the most genuinely talented Singer Songwriter in America today. So happy to see how far he's come since the 5th wheeler days back in New Mexico. Keep being my number one inspiration as songwriter.

  • @bertfonte I agree with you man but keep in mind that Phillip Coleman wrote the majority of this song. Ronnie took the rough version from him and came up with the hook and the chorus and the rest is history. The funny part is that the label wouldn't let him do it in 2008 when he finished it because they said the economy would be better by the time it came out. This resulted in him having to re-record the chorus to reflect the increase in gas prices! Nice call record execs!!

  • Havent herd this song since campin durrin summer its so true tho.. And this song brings backso many memorys of campin and catchin bass evryday

  • Kinda not lookin forward to my future. Grandpa says I(this generation) got it easy. No grandpa, I(this generation) don't. He was able to hop right out after graduation get a job at a factory for a couple years then get laid off then go down the road to another factory and be hired right in. I'm only 18 years old and have been trying since i was 16 to start a job and still haven't gotten 1 single call for an interview. But I got hope for this great nation, we will make a turn around.God bless.

  • I had no idea Ronnie Dunn did this song until I watched him perform it on the Opry.

His performance had me and my mother in tears.

  • i really like that song it really touches my heart cause i also struggle

  • WOW...what a fantastic song!! almost makes me cry....great american spirit, not lookin for handouts.

  • Unions stop the good workers from making a better life by forcing them to drag the dead weight on their backs. I'll take a handful of hard workers who're willing to stand on their own two feet over any amount of union clock watchers.

If I own a business, the jobs in that business are mine. If you can do the job, I'll pay you. If you can do the job well enough that my competitors would like to hire you, I'll pay you more. Economics 101 folks.

  • @davidselliott Well Put, every state should be right to work.

  • This song is the straight up truth....BEST song EVER MADE!!!!

  • Im separating form the army in March (4yrs active), not sure what im going to do yet...going to put my resume out there once i get my DD214

  • @TheChevytrucks1989 Thanks for your service. I'm almost done with college and in the next few months i'm about to enlist. Enjoy your chevy truck when you get back! I know i'm gonna miss my silverado

  • This is the most depressing song I have ever heard, because it's the most true, sad thing. People can't make it anymore in today's world.

  • This is a great song I play to it all the time

  • @clintondillow So true if you have kids it is the best song that tells the truth about our future.

  • So true

  • English teacher making us do crap on this song so yup here i am, was it necessary to tell you all this, no it wasn't, should i be working on it rather than typing this, yes. but do i really care probably not lol. did you read all this? maybe you did, but most of you probably only read like 7 words but thats okay :p ....

  • im a laid off union member and i still wont work for a rat. i know what i am worth and will not work for less. what we need is to get rid of these fucking mexicans.

  • @52pittsburghfan and thats why your still unemployed

  • @hangthenig1 true

  • @hangthenig1 sorry dick bag i am unempleyed due to the economy. no one building anything me no worky worky. is that simple enough for u. i have worked non union and saw fellow emoloyees get hurt and nothing done for them. i worked in dangerous conditions and was told to deal with it or go home. everything you have is due a UNION. i bet you work 40 hrs a week. UNION. i bet you take off labor day UNION 8 hr work day UNION if i dont get payed what i do all other carpenters make less

  • @52pittsburghfan mother fucker i weld all day and try lay flooring whenever i can im unemployed to but im not an egotistical son of a bitch that wont for little to nothing

  • @hangthenig1 learn to spell when u got some free time

  • @balltownballa45 why dont you follow your own advice

  • @hangthenig1 look at your screen name HANG THE NIG, shows how common you really are. read some history about unions and see you owe most of what you have to them especially the UBC. i fight for what you take for granted bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • @hangthenig1 The union thing is true, we would be nowhere without them, slave labor and maxium hours with little pay.

  • @52pittsburghfan hey my bf is a mexican and because of guys like u he got shot in the leg last month just a couple days before christmas, nice christmas present huh, not really and he had a very little chance of ever walking again and hes only 16 and he works at mcdonalds its not his fault he takes wat he can get and you cant

  • dont know why everybody's complainin, theres plenty of work as waiters, or paper boys, you can even find work as a drug dealer. maybe a hooker? lets not complain ppl.

  • @gearboxbreaker we r not complaining we r stating the truth

  • this song is so true it's so hard to find a job right now and everything cost so much money u have to have some kind of job to get by now

  • @nmalo100 its even hard to get by with a job.

  • Maybe if America spent their money wisely, this song wouldn't be so true. Football players, as well as any other athletes, get payed millions of dollars just for wearing a uniform. But real people, in real uniforms, don't even make that in their lifetime. IT'S TIME TO CHANGE AMERICA.

  • @MaryPoppins2012 be union live batter ...stop sucking the bossmans asshole all the way up in the red come on ppl how can you do that

  • @rosa22314 It seems as though you may have a spelling problem.

  • This song was written about the GoodYear plant in the town where I live. Over 1500 people lost their jobs overnight. Makes me sad when I pass the plant on my way to work.

  • this song explains allot like my father has worked all his life and got laid off last year we have had a hard time ever since but who hasnt that has gotten laid off

  • Wait, I thought it was THREE dollars, not four.

Oh wait I get it, high and going up

  • @CANDYVAG No, this version of the song was just made when gas was four dollars. There's another version that says three dollars.

  • This song reminds me alot about my dad he has worked his life being a welder and a Log Truck driver yet he has a hard time

  • @Minotaur20 You father sounds like a true man: works hard to provide what he can, and has the pride for it. To few men like that around these days, you're lucky you got one, mate. :) God Bless

  • Sums up life

  • THIS VIDEO IS THE BEST I EVER SEEN HE IS THE TOP SINGER I LIKE

  • i work on a crab boat in new jersey. it is by far the toughest job i ever had. i do it all to provide for my little girl and my beautiful wife... being a country boy aint easy.... if it aint on the boat its in the fields.and in the winter we hunt just to put food on our table. and each year we ave less and less money in the bank. cost of living is high and is goin up. coijldnt think of a better song

Lets keep the jobs in Canada and the U.S.! we have 2 family members out of work. And one of them went back to her job for a visit, and to no surprise she was replaced by an indian girl.!

  • Thank You for writing this. I just saw you sing it on the Dr. Phil show. I'm going to post it on my Facebook Status and share it on Twitter. I will admit it made me cry! Anyone who thinks there are not real problems in today's world is living in the dark!

    THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

    Roz Fruchtman

    Say It With eCards

  • @rozfruchtman I'm doing the samething too, just saw it on Dr. and posting it on my face book page.

  • This song reminds me if my family. My dad works his ass off and gets any overtime he can. We hunt and fish to help out with the food costs. My grandparent are both retired but now trying to find part time jobs to get by. They'd give anything to help out anyone even though they don't have much.

  • im 16 years old... i work everyday after school, every weekend and every holiday... my parents put me out on my own,,, yea i dnt own much.. just a small trailer and my old truck and my bed.... ive lost alot of friends and my girl left me about a week ago... today was our 4 years.. :/.... thank god for this song... its helped me alot

  • @pdog44450 thanks bro... its hard... everybodys walked out on me...

  • This song reminds me of my dad. He spent most of my life working on bridge decks in seattle and montana. Worked his ass missed countless birthdays and hollidays spent most of his time doing the job that nobody wanted. He had a strong back and steels toes and never called in sick. Doing this work has messed him up. He can barely walk now and doesnt know how to support his family.

  • This song has to be one of the most down to earth songs I've herd its so true and explains the way it is now. So Fuck all of the people who laugh at this song. And all of the ragheads that done this

  • i LOL at this song all the time.

  • @blehyouhoe u aint a workin person then

  • he thinks he is tuff and strong and simple

  • this song just says it all with the way things are today as we all strugle to make it. this song is the truth and verry well done, i thank you ronnie # 1 song in my book keep up the great work that you do...

  • This song doesn't have anything to do with ideology, anyone can relate that has a good work ethic. It's about hard work and just being a good american. Great tune. Some of the best lyrics and most relevant I've heard in a while. Hard times right now but it will get better for those of us willing to work hard.

  • OCCUPY!

  • I am learning this on the guitar....and at my next job interview, when they get to the "So tell us why we should hire you?" part of the interview. I am going to whip out the guitar, and sing this song. Should walk out of there with the job.

  • @thewilriggs I'd hire you on the spot! :)

  • @thewilriggs ...

  • @thewilriggs did u get it

  • Love this one, and makes one feel lucky to have a job and house

  • sounds like life to me

  • This song reminds me so much of my dad my mom left my family this summer and she kept so much from him that we are just now getting a whole bunch of bills that we never knew about mom I hope some how you read this and you come home your son Wesley :(

  • This is my song to my husband. He's such a hard worker, he does whatever he can to support our son. I love you, Wesley!

  • i been looking for this song for about 5 months ...every since i heard it on the radio one night going home to see my wife,,, after being gone for 2 or 3 months working on the road.. i knew i would be out of work for a while and after hearing this song .. the writer of this song took the words right out of my mouth.

this is a great song..still looking for work anybody hiring Americans this week?

  • anyone else who replies to me because they have some irrelevant bone to pick with me for no reason and not to say they agree or like the song will automatically gain a status of "ignorant prick who hates music"... so if you love music and don't wanna be labled otherwise then i suggest you stfu and enjoy the song.

  • i cant aford to buy my wife a real weding ring after working in the same coal mine for 5 years.....i just got layed off and had to get a job at walmart...now how am i even suposed to feed my family?

  • @shupe1995 I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE GOING THRU I'M FEELING IT TO ...I GOT LAID OFF AND NOW I'M HEADED TO THE GOLDEN ARCHES ... HAY I LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS MAC DONALD'S WILL NOT BE LAYING OFF ANY TIME SOON ..... I HOPE... GOOD LUCK.

  • i may be a political 18 year old straight out of high school but seriously... anyone bitchin' and arguing about how the big man stomps on the little man needs to shut up... this song is about struggling in a tough economy, not how a secret non-existent society is ruling us all using pixie dust and satanism... take the liberal bs somewhere else. i wanna see comments about the song, not a bunch of crap...

  • @DJxOCEANx BOY if you are only 18 you are still wet behind the ears and you dont even know what life is about yet.

  • @LnMechDrvr your right... i DONT know what life is about yet... at least not exactly... but i do know that a lot of people and probably including you are just being d-bags... i know what this song is about and i enjoy it. I'm more of a southern rock and metal type of person not a country person but i like this song and the lyrics... and ears are only wet every morning cuz i let my pony tail length hair air-dry, and thats not gonna change any time soon...

  • @LnMechDrvr and you would think twice about calling me "boy" if you ever saw me in person... nothing about my appearance says "boy" about me, SON...

  • @DJxOCEANx I like the song too cause I served in the army too. Its the long hair pretty boys like you who cant hack the military. I think I hear your mom calling you

  • @LnMechDrvr who mentioned anything about the military? i don't even want to hack the military (what ever the hell that even means..) if you think iv got something against the military then you had better second guess yourself. i have family members who have served in the military, i have friends in the military, and I'm friends with one of the US treasury armored truck transporters who served in the army and marines for 30 years... yeah.. i totally hate people in the military...

  • @LnMechDrvr and how can you hear my mom calling? you are reading what i say ON A FREAKIN' COMPUTER! smart ass... go be a wanker somewhere else...

  • lmaoooo this song to real, and im black also
