This is indeed a movie going by the same name as the song... It follows William Wilberforce as he fights to have a bill passed to abolish the slave trade in Britan.
i love the movie amazing grace and not long ago read a bio on william wilberforce. Following this i found a copy of his book Christ A practical view and i feel my soul torn in two. I have ordered a bible and will study it for answers and every time i hear this song it makes me believe that bit more

Well, we try, but everyone fails sometimes. Christians aren't perfect, just like the rest of the world. God expects us to try. He doesn't expect perfection :)
You are wrong, nothing is imposible to God, but He's not gonna take our humanity away, He is just going to give us that grace, so that we can be holy like Him, beacuse no one enters heaven without holiness, He doesn't expect perfection in the way that we are not going to make mistakes sometimes, but He does expect us worthy to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Yeah, but not everyone that says Lord Lord shall enter. Many people "love" the Lord, and know who he is, but still refuse to obey his word.
So As 188metalhead881 rightly said, God will not take our humanity away, He created us this way. But he will give you the grace to go through. Understand this one thing though, You must be filled with the holyghost, Becuase it is the Holyghost that will hear the call and quicken our mortal bodies to rise up on that day to meet Him.
@188metalhead881 God doesn't live inside time. We enter the kingdom of heaven when we become one with him and are saved (set apart). He makes us perfect then, it's our behavior or sin that separates us from fellowship with Him. He never leaves us, we leave him. Your already perfect you're just not aware of it yet.

Yes God is a great savior, who else could love us despite all of our faults. To God be the glory. Where would I be if it had not been for my Savior. All I have I give to you Lord, use me as a servant of all.
I love God so much. It is very hard when you go through valleys in your life, so hard but to take Gods Grace with you and to hold on to the hope God gives through his promises is something that will help us climb up out of the valley.
How amazing God's love is for every humanity. How should we repay him? I think, by living our life the way it should be handled and treating everyone equally fair without hatreds and angers, and most important of all, accepting Jesus Christ, the only Son of God as our Savior. Amazing Grace. Amen

@188metalhead881 on a theological note, lets cut back on the sanctity part for getting into heaven...to be justified is to believe and praise Jesus Christ and his sacrifice, but even our transformation is nothing before God's standards since we would still be unworthy of heaven. If any one of us was let back into paradise, even as christians(as we are now, in our fleshly state), we would corrupt it.

@RedRocker9957 Well yeah, but my point was that we must try to be like Jesus was, perfect not in the perfect flawless human state like Adam before he failed, but perfect in love, like Jesus that he gave everything to death all for love, because it is imposible for a human being to keep the entire Law of the jews flawless, but if you love God with all your heart and your neighbor like yourself, then God makes us worthy of entering the kingdom of heaven.

@188metalhead881 Are we really to "try" to do anything? The perfectness of Jesus while here on earth was His COMPLETE dependance on the Father. We have the same power to be perfect available to us that Jesus partook of perfectly, the Power of the Father living in us. Our only job is to surrender, surrender ALL. Jesus would not have asked us to follow his example if we didn't have the same power to succeed as He did!

@KCPull Loving God with all our heart and our neighbors as ourselves can only come after God makes us worthy, and that is only through His Son's work on the cross. Our worthiness has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING we do and EVERYTHING to do with all that He does. Thank You Jesus that my great worth to You is ONLY because of YOU!!

@KCPull you guys all seem to have the same idea, that we can still do something ourselves. We cannot do anything ourselves, we are complete sinners, but God having loved us as His own, sent His only beggotten son down to earth on the cross to pay for our sins. He is our mediator, our interscessor, God looks at us through Him, in this way may we go to heaven. It is not of ourselves but of Christ. We cannot do anything! But yes, we must fight the devil and sin, by the Holy Spirit!

@KCPull No, nobody CAN be perfect in the way Adam was before he sinned, I'm pretty sure Adam didn't make any mistakes before he sinned, but that's not the point, the point is to love Christ with all our hearts and love our neighbor like ourselfs and then only then we will be found perfect to enter the kindgdom of heaven, period.

@188metalhead881 god does expect perfection, although we can never achieve that, that is what we are to strive for, but when we go for judgement it depends where our heart is, if we truly, deep down, strive to be exactly what god wants that is waht it take, there are no shortcuts to heaven

@stevezx101 Please rethink the fact that striving to be perfect will get us into heaven... you worded it so it sounded like that so for anyone the only way into heaven is through Jesus Christ and believing He is the savior and there is no other way into Heaven... not by striving to be perfect

I love God so much. It is very hard when you go through valleys in your life, so hard but to take Gods Grace with you and to hold on to the hope God gives through his promises is something that will help us climb up out of the valley.
