  • You know, Red Foxx came to despise the role of Fred Sanford, viewing it as just a modern minstrel show character. He never had a kind word to say about the part after it was over. But he sure did make me laugh and I thought he was one of the '70s funniest comedic actors.

  • i love the part ware the back over the records with the truck. the look on there faces is priceless

  • I want my daddy records

  • Archibald... You can say that again. LOL

  • I want my daddy's records

  • what episode is this?

  • @missbirdie05 The Blind Mellow Jelly Collection.

  • personally I think you a fruit cake....LOL

  • FRED RULES

  • Lead belly was blues/country folk, not Jazz. Still Funny after all these years. Watts must be a bitch!

  • But Blind Mellow Jelly might have been jazz lol :)

  • Actually, it's one of the fine details that I think make this funny and a good spoof of the then less known field of "ethnomusicology" -- because such academic music programs and libraries usually have a division that they call "Jazz," into which they kind of arbitrarily throw all the different kinds of African-American music! :)

  • that man is funny

  • YOUR DADDYS RECORDS

  • "I WANT MY DADDY'S RECORDS!!!"

  • That is totally hilarious. And of course the ethnomusicological librarian is a white guy.

  • :-) I wonder which of the writers/producers had the idea. I mean, they could have made the sketch in a lot of different settings; someone must have recently visited a local "ethnomusic library"!

    Good to hear from you.
