  • Good stuff!

  • Anyone can play this while being high.

  • pushing freedom is good

  • Comment removed

  • So who's the absentee playing the guitar then?

  • why would anyone would want to fuse jazz and rock?

  • @asquepo Because its some of the best music out there

  • untuned not on scale. i know what you mean by fusiion. but this is just whatever.

  • @pelonelcojedor - no its not out of tune or off scale like free jazz or anything. This is just so much more harmonically and rhythmically complex than you are used to hearing obviously. Sorry to sound elitist but this music takes time to grasp as it pushes the limits in every area...harmonically, rhythmically, technically, creatively. thats why good fusion is the best music there is, but if your ear is not used it, such complexities will sound random but i guarantee you it's not

  • So free....great!

  • Awesome!!

  • can you play three notes my wife got to bed?

  • ахуенна

  • i luv percy base but i really could not here him playing his base but it really looks slick.

  • @addictedtobass watever dude... i can only care so much...

  • freakin awesome .. this man (percy jones) has been my inspiration since the early 80`s . Brand X were one of the most influencial prog fusion bands to ever exist!!!!

  • WOW NICE!!!

  • It's like an awesome boss fight song.

  • patrick moore plays a mean glokenspiel

  • Great stuff!! Turn that bass up Percy babay!

  • So what's the name of the song?

  • Percy Jones..... Che bassista! Diverso da tutti gli altri, ascoltatelo con i Brand X!

  • Questa e' musica! poi puo' piacere oppure no, ma questa e' musica!!!

  • I love it :) My music teacher have shown it in the lesson :)

  • no me gusta,,,!!

  • this is not fusion its crap! check out Extraction with Greg Howe and Dennis Chambers you will hear the diff

  • @treyguy09

listen deeper my friend. you are obviously not a musician!!!!!

  • @treyguy09

i just listened to extraction... sounds a little too rehearsed.... lacks the depth and soul of this track.. and there are quite a few timing issues on the version i listened to. but good effort

  • @treyguy09 - extraction is ok but is more straightforward metal fusion. this is more avant fusion, but definately not freeform crap...its just way more complex and unique than you are used to

  • How can you not like this???

  • Classic fusion style. I wish the audio and video were in sync.

  • Wanna hear what this drummer can do on a set of rubbermaid and some baking pans - no word of a lie? Check him out, all sounding like Bonham, on "Stay If You Wanna" here on youtube. (To think, I guess I got off easy - he totally didn't charge.)

  • @LincolnLLoyd: He's totally lyin, it doesn't come up under "Stay If You Wanna" - just click on LincolnLLoyd and grab it from 'Uploads' instead. (Dang tags: FAIL)

  • HORRIBLE SOUND can't even hear the bass

  • cool!

  • feel like eating a cup of rocky rainbows lol

  • its does sound like a bit of a muddle

  • Percy Jones...the man's bass playing defies explanation.

  • Who is the drumer?

  • death and destruction!!

  • execelnt

  • Negatory, the Bass is an Ibanez Affirma... you can read up on their history... the Ergodyne series were poor production models of it (and the Abstract Brutus bass is a knockoff of the Affirma too, nowhere near as good in quality either...)

  • So so Amazing?!!!!

  • If only they could use their talent to create enjoyable music... This is amazing but it's not something I'd listen to for entertainment, if you know what I mean.

  • @monkeys350

Well thats all personal taste. There are an abundant, I for one, of people whom would predominantly listen to music of this effect.

I love the style, skill, technique, sound, writting patterns, everything.

  • @DaggersPlunge It is great but it's just not very relaxing and you couldn't have it on without really focusing on the music, which isn't really a bad thing. When I listen to it I don't feel much emotionally, only musically. It's hard to explain.

  • @monkeys350

    You explained it brilliantly.

  • what bass is he using?

  • I think that is a abstract brutus bass =)

  • @yukies21 check out the interview on this page.

    percyjones ~ net ~ interview~htm

It looks like it must be some sort of Ibanez prototype.

  • Does anyone know what bass Percy is using in this video?

  • It's the ibanez ergodyne...custom with mahogany body and pezio pickups and the neck is thicker than a production model.

  • Who's the drummer? Walker Adams...

  • Tunnels es la neta del Planeta!!!....AMAZING!!!!

  • NICE, NICE, NICE

  • Very good! Very very good!!! )))

  • Great work guys, check out our vids and tell us what you think. All the best from Fristad

  • i love this band so much solos

  • I really like the feel and genre of the musical layers this piece creates.

  • Who is playing the guitar? Triggered via MIDI?

  • jbuyfnbi

  • other really good muscians. Who have more depth to there taste. nothing wrong with that.

  • It's amazing how many people spend their time trashing art they're too stupid to appreciate. Newsflash for such morons: you better find something that moves you while you're still breathing, because this trip is pretty short. Do you really want to come to the end of life having spent more time trashing art you hate than appreciating art you love? In other words, run along and let the grownups do their thing.

  • @Gregorypeckory Well said. You sound like Zappa, my friend, and your screen name implies that you might be a Zappa fan.

  • @Gregorypeckory Couldn't agree more!

  • @JNeifion Thanks.

  • You did

  • dude wagnon is sick...

  • im dumb it says its a futuristic band in the info

  • I agree. Their sound is more of a throw-back to fusion music of the 70's and 80's.

  • The sound might be a throwback, but the word "futuristic" is probably inspired by the fact that the music is complex and sophisticated, thus to some ears sounds "futuristic" compared to most of today's electric music, which sounds pretty primitive.

  • When I think "futuristic", I think of some of Aphex Twins music, or Amon Tobin, Squarepusher, or even some of the Radiohead music.

You'd have to be a linguistics major to squeeze "complex" out of the word "futuristic".

Sounds like the coked out 70's fusion scene done to death by guys who love to play it. Nothing wrong with it, but it'd old music.

  • I agree with Larkydozer: When I think futurist, I think of music that hasn't been done yet. Not an obvious nod to genres of the past. And if "complex" = "futuristic" then why don't people refer to Bach as futuristic?

Great music performed by great musicians, but it sounds super dated.

  • walker adams is awesome and this band has a weird but cool sound kinda futureristic

  • Why do I hear guitar but not see it?

  • maybe its sampled

  • i think he's got a foot switch on his electric vibes so he adds the voice over his vibes. he's playing out those melodies

  • Ahh, I didn't see him play those. Thanks.

  • Percy Walker marK.......uau!!!!

    Greetings from southern Italy!!!

    Lorenzo

  • that Walker Adams kid sure knows his stuff, but i think his playing is far too aggressive on this, you know, for a fusion act. i've seen him doin' better on other videos.

  • Percy kills everyone! He is still the best bass player IMO.

  • we saw these guys in '03 at a prog fest in trenton NJ.Awesome show........afterwards percy(bass) came into the club around the corner, saw us at the bar ,asked what's good to eat ,and ended up hanging with us for the rest of the evening........great times!

  • jazz is the contrary of what your saying

its not for narrow minded douchebags like you

  • well I think if you have an ear for jazz, you won't say that it's pointless. it's full of emotions, and the jazz players are mostly very experienced on their instruments

  • wow, i'm blown away, i'm off for some mental shower!

Raw energy and musical sophistication, killer combination!

  • in my country everybody knows pastorius, mahavishnu etc, but nobody brand x :(

brand x, especially percy is so great :P

  • i love this type of music, it is jazz fusion isn't it;:) i love progressive rock too...prog has jazz fusion influences is not it...:)

  • Truly awesome!

  • GREAT!! VERY GOOD! LOOK "GUITAR SOLO" (tags: guitar solo ruggero robin)... IT'S FUSION MUSIC ALSO THAT!

  • i wonder if they've ever heard of dynamics?

  • Well yes. Most likely more than you could comphrehend in a dozen lifetimes. I hear some of the dumbest comments in this place especially when no brainers start judging musicians of this caliber.

  • get real, these guys are great.

  • ehhhh bad recording dude you need to hear them live

  • interesting stuff . the sound is a bit distorted . the drummer needs more technique and finesse . but it is an interesting trio .

  • The blurb said it was Phil Collins.

  • Did you completely read it? ;)

  • Open mouth, insert foot. I read it, just read it as being Phil Collins with a note about Adams. It was more the other way around.

  • where's the guitarist hiding?

  • All that noise is just three people. Marc gets a lot of sound out of that midi vibes.

  • @walking360 there definetly is a guitarist

  • Comment removed

  • most underrated .

Why are there hardly any BrandX vids available ?

  • I've been trying to get hold of some - any ideas?

  • Percy, still one of the most unique bassists in Fusion.

  • Absolutely - he's amazing
