thanks for posting this kind of music in violin....uauuuuu i am just dreaming know....i am reaching my dreamssssssssss....................uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmufffffff...thanks again i love it
He just ruined his beginning!!!!!!! his note frauled on the bow.... and the violin IS waaay 2 small for him, like thats a three quarter or maybe a half, and I'M ten and I have a full size, im lernin this song!!
I am glad that with 10 you have such good ears. Its right the 1 note was unhappy and......I wish you should play ALWAYS without any mistake. Music does not depend at 1 note...remember and practice.!!
That violin is not a 3/4 or 1/2. It's most likely a 4/4 violin. The reason it looks small is because he is a big guy. I'm not sure why you feel so special that you have a full size violin... many people do. Don't think you know everything at 10 or 11 years old because you don't.
This video and others of the Meditation allows me to enjoy the many various styles of playing this lovely music. Although my preference is a slower Meditation, I can appreciate it this video because it allows me listen to this great music at another pace. Thanks for posting.
From a technical point of view, this is a wonderful performance. I would prefer that the piece be played a little bit slower, and more "meditatively". I felt that it was played a bit too rushed in some parts. I viewed other posting of the same piece in U tube and personally prefer the style of Nathan Milstein, Jennifer Barizo and Sarah Chang. The appreciation of music, as in all arts, is subjective and personal.
This is a very nice interpretation of Thais' Meditation. His overall emotion in this piece is great, but his vibrato is drool-worthy. I am wondering what orchestra it is though.

Is it just me or is the lead violinist's violin a bit too small for him?

You are right it could be slower..

@Ferenc1943 I'm not convinced that it was "too slow". After all, it came from your heart. Thank you for the video.

The State Philharmonic Orchestra of Germany.
It was his last solo performance with exact 65 years.
