  • @stickmedia1

practice a lot, lots of air, work on your range: do the b flat scale until you can do it perfectly then when you master that from the top note of the b flat go higher to a c (third position) then d (first)

  • Dude where do you get the music for this? do you transcribe it?

  • @hatmagician101 yes, i transcribed it and moved it to a better key for the natural range of the trombone

  • @PaulTheTrombonist that's awesome. I play trombone and I would love to be able to do something like this.

  • @whoppersrcool yes final cut. thanks so much, that means a lot to me! i appreciate you stopping by

  • That's REALLY good. I'm impressed.

  • Great arrangement, though I wouldn't want to be the third trombonist in a quartet playing this one :-) I've never been a Journey fan, but you made this one pretty cool. Keep up the great work.

  • DUDE THIS IS SO FRICKIN AWESOME!!!! Is this all transposed?

  • Does this be on itunes?

  • @TheBaughMan1 sorry not yet but a lot of my other music is. Just search "Paul The Trombonist". Thanks for the support!

  • This is a great rendition of an iconic song man. You done a good job here. Enjoyed it.

  • this is really great. but a word of advice, i know this wouldn't be easy but if you edit your videos in a way which is more appealing to the eyes and not stay consistent, people would be more entertained, or like switch up the boxes once in a while. if it stays the same throughout the whole video then people would have the tendency to get bored. they may watch the video and be interested but a little less than half they may switch videos. :) friendly advice here :) great video and playing!

  • who hell is mr. banana?

  • Really nice, Paul. I especially like the tags that tell me which image of you is playing what part.

  • You kick ass as a trombonist. You made a song I hate by a band I hate sound really good. I can appreciate what you are doing as I play too, Keep it up.

  • U should make a video to teach people how to do trombone 1 :D

  • Nice work, Paul! I'm gonna share this with friends.

  • Dude i bow down to the superior Trombone player as anouther trombone i pledge myself to you teach me your ways lol.

  • Dude you got talent,

  • awesome.

  • like i said, your tone quality = God

  • i play 1st trombone in my band and this dude is one of the reasons i started playing trombone and really working at it.

  • This is really good man. Keep it up. What kind of horn are you playing on?

  • Wow! Great arrangement! Those high notes looked painful! What's the highest you can reach? I can reach the third Bb on rare instances.

  • @coda623 When you say 3rd Bb, do you mean the first Bb above Middle C on a piano?

I've only been playing trombone for around a year now and somehow I play first part on everything in my school's jazz band and the highest note I can reach in a song pretty consistently is an F or G. I have to work on hitting an A for another song and I guess that goes along with hitting a Bb since it's one up on the slide.

Also, what is really the upper range on a trombone?

  • @speeps84 You know the two basic Bb notes, right? There's high and low. It's what I would call the most natural range of the trombone, or what most people can play. Well i can occasionally play a Bb above the top Bb of the concert Bb scale. I can normally get up to whatever is below that, which is either an A or an F. The trombone can range from a low F (4.5 ledger lines down from the staff) to an uber high Bb that is 7.5 ledger lines above the bass clef staff.

  • @speeps84 Matters on the trombone... some can hit the 3rd Bb... also matters on the player

  • @bigpunk157 well damn. Just got a song today and I have to hit the second D above middle C. I'm scared.

  • @speeps84 at least i have until like april to get it down

  • @speeps84 Kick yourself in the balls :D it helps

Couple times to sing soprano :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

  • Really pretty! You're so talented and I love your banana ;D

  • love to wATCH TRUE PROFESSIONALS. YOU ARE THE REAL DEAL!!

  • You play rally in tune with yourself.

  • thank yu well done
