As for the JSF we have put so much money in that it would not be economically viable to buy such as small number. It would be pointless to have just 40 when the QE Class is designed to carry between 40-60 F-35's.

I believe we are? We're building 2 new AC's, similar in size to the Nimitz, and probably more advanced and practical. 6 new destroyers, also probably the most advanced in the world, new submarines, also very advanced. We're bringing in the F-35, we're modernizing our Navy as we speak, atm it's built for mobility and cold war situations.

I don't know if anyone's heard but France will soon be starting their six months of leading the EU. During that time they want to make a european army and navy and they want either hms illustrious or hms ark royal to be on permanent attachement to that navy and it could also involve our future carriers. I think it's the biggest piece of bullshit ever and they should fuck off. It also excludes america who have been our greatest friends for ages.

Apparently the european army and navy is no longer being created. Instead the nations are just going to support each other more which is what they should already be doing. For example they can help britain and america in afghanistan and iraq more.

3 carriers each 22,000 tone
3 helicopter carriers each 21,000 tone
8 destroyers around 6,500 tone
17 frigates around 5,000 tone
13 subs (nuck) betwen 6,000 tone to 16,000 tone
so thats 44 major combat war ships still best in europe

the funds for the F35 came frm 9 differant countries but Nationalities frm over 30 differant countries took part in developing the F35. so far thev created a plane that will rip a whole in the flight deck of any known aircraft carrier.

NOO the F22 is American but the F35 is joint operation manly between the UK and the US. And the difference between them are the F22 is more expensive but the F35 is designed to be more flexible and cheaper and the F35 can take off from aircraft carriers.

@BLKcovenant Its modelled by the Americans, but BAE systems which is a British company that makes most of the worlds military Helicopters, armoured vehicle`s and aircraft, and defence systems are making the system that goes into the F35`s making it possible for it to even be working.

@Elitepoosniff What helicopters does BAE make? Eurocopter makes the most helicopters in the world and that is based in France. General Dynamics makes the most armoured vehicles, Lockheed aircraft, and the F-35 will work just fine without BAE.

The f35 is closely related to the f22 the only real diff is that the f35 is meant to land on carriers and takes off vertically.
