I finally broke down and got a Roland Guitar Synth. I added one of the Roland pickups that are about the size of a small football to a Strat. The Synth thing is just incredible to just play around with. My small audience (wife and dogs) were amazed. My wife had heard it going on from another part of the house and came to see what was up. I use a lot of backing tracks but she heard the Orchestra and Kettle drums etc. and came to see.
The Graphtech ghost system's tracking is dead on. Some folks say the new GR-55 is better than the GR-20 but I have the 20 and it has so much available on it, I don't see any need to upgrade to the 55.
MIDI and Guitar Synth cables are different. MIDI is a 5-pin cable. GK guitar synth cables use 13-pins. So you must plug any synth (hexaphonic pickup) equipped guitar, into a guitar synth (Roland, Axon etc..). Those synth units have built-in sound patches as well as a 5-pin MIDI port which will allow the connection of other MIDI devices such as a Keyboard.

in order to hook this up to a MIDI gear, does it require to have a synth gt/MIDI converter, or can you hook your gtr up directly via MIDI cable?
