I used to watch this film whilst completely off my face on acid. Watching it now with nothing stronger than a cup of coffee, I'm wondering whether I could have just done away with the acid...
they're not stoned they're high on acid, i love the beatles their music is so deep it speaks to everybody sober or not but this vid is beautiful on acid lol
PERFECTION. it really doesnt get any better. george was amazing!! the noise playing at 1:20 and other parts is the most incredible noise on acid. it made my brain smile so big.
@CattyEyes09 There is a sample from some comedian on the Tool song "Third Eye." Listen to it. Greatest quotes about musicians and their relationship with drugs.
@redhook4. you are a dumbass, the beatles did a lot of drugs thats why all of their songs are so awesome. but especially "I am the Walrus" they were definitely trippin on LSD, everybody knows that, it was not some trick to play on school kids
What's the YES all about? Scroll down for the answer...
When John met Yoko, she was debuting some art work. In the middle of the room was a ladder. At the top, she had painted a word. He climbed the ladder and read the word. It was "YES." He said if it had been anything else, he would have moved on with his evening. YES led him to a lifelong love for Yoko.
OH MY FREAKING GOD! IVE HAD IT UP TO HERE WITH "THEY WHERE STONED DURING I AM THE WALRUS" the true story is that kids where analyzing Beatles songs in school so john wanted to make one way too hard to analyze.
this song wasnt produced on any records or a single it was just played on this movie...thats all..u can get it anywhere accept poping in this movie and listing to it
@dieguixd maybe not a genius, but a left handed drummer playing a right handed set during most of his carreer did create many a weird and complex and colorful beats.
wow how high where they? this is a good song but all there songs are based on there acid trips like lucy in the sky with diamonds and yellow submarine
Drugs, yes they took them. 'Lucy" was not about an LSD trip. Instead it was based on a painting Lennon's son Julian brought home from school one day as a KGDer
Maybe it's just me but I always thought that Three Dog Night "borrowed" the sound for their song "Family of Man". There both great songs. You be the judge!
. . .and this cartoon was animated without a computer! Yes, children, there was a time when computers and cellphones did not exist at all. Ponder the thought.
I like this kind of animation too, but I have to say that a lot of hard work goes into CGI, you know Gollum/Smeagle from the Lord of the Rings trilogy? I thought he looked incredible, and the emotion in the actor`s voice was properly expressed in his features. I don`t know what kind of CGI you`ve seen, but it the artists must not have cared to do a good job.
Agreed. I am basically the oldest one in my office now I am 45 and I work with basically 23-28 year olds, and they roll their eyes when I put my music on, what they don't get is if, wonderful groups like the Beatles, Elvis, etc did not exist, they would not have a good part of what they listen to today.
Well put man, I'm 12 years old and all the people (mostly the "gangsters") at school laugh at me when I jam out to The Beatles on my iPod, and I tell them they wouldn't have most of their precious rap and all their other god awful music if it weren't for the Bealtes. Some people just don't understand the classics.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but whether you are or not, if actually was. It may have not been this song specifically, but all music evolves from somewhere.
@VtheXenomorphQueen Don't be sad. I was in the same situation when I was 12 (now I'm 32). :D They'll get it later - maybe it will take looong time but they will. ;)
@VtheXenomorphQueen it gets worse as you get to high school, i've been listening to rock since i was about 6 or 7 (i'm now 17) and my high school is FILLED with guidos and wiggers. none of them understand what music really is.
Always loved this portion of this movie. One of my all time favorite Beatles songs. Some journalists describe this song as "In case you doubt George took acid". It's no big secret that they did, but they always have to put that in0there. It's just a great song, and the lyrics make sense. Period.
