What'd they use hollywood makeovers, or something? These actors and actress's look exactly the same as they do today. I don't see a slight difference. Except Erica's face looks thinner.
i am a 46 year old guy and have been watcing amc on and off since early seventies and billy clyde tuggle is the best villian character ever on tv i never missed it when he was on and i still do my billy clyde impersonation to this day and it drives my wife nuts!! long live billy clyde tuggle portrayed awesomely by mathew cowles!
"LOS ANGELES James Mitchell, who for nearly three decades played gruff patriarch Palmer Cortland on the ABC soap opera "All My Children," has died, his longtime partner said Sunday night.
Mitchell died Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, partner Albert Wolsky said. Mitchell had suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for years, complicated by a recent bout of pneumonia."
I remember a scene in 1979 with Billy Clyde where he has a flashback as a little kid and he has a cruel mother who leaves him alone at night, and he is crying he is hungry and she kicks him. Poor little guy. I never forgot it.
I loved it when I discovered that I had some Billy Clyde scenes - mind you I haven't seen these tapes myself since back in the 80's when I worked a job getting TV to Alaska's cable systems.
I don't think I have Billy Clyde's death scene, totalrod2.
I love it when actors and their friends/fans can find them in these clips and Im so glad that YouTube no longer has a limit on the number of characters for index keywords where I put their real names.
Hi friends. Matthew Cowles who played Billy Clyde has been my best friend for 30 years. The last year he was on the show, he gifted me with an AMC script with the other actors autographs. We still email every week and talk on the phone at least once every couple of months. YouTube won't let me post our MySpace address, but just search for Billy Clyde Tuggle on MySpace and our page should pop up, and there is a photo of us together on there. I have his final episode on tape, Dec. 12, 1990
Finally, some old footage of Billy Clyde Tuggle! My mother's been faithfully watching AMC since it first aired in 1970. As for me....growing up, I couldn't help but getting caught up in watching it whenever Billy Clyde was in town. Thanks for sharing! Do you have the episode where he died? (him and Tad falling off the bridge)
Wow. I never realized that Billy Clyde and Erica or Cliff and Liza every crossed paths. Also forgot about that replacement Liza.

@drummanrocks2112 Agreed. Billy Clyde rules all...The actor who plays him created the character.
