Weeeellll, BOF did it better in terms of sheer ludicrousness... but I think there's more of an emotional (and guilt) connection here because DMS being in the hospital wasn't a made up situation -- he actually suffered bodily harm, which had been witnessed by ShanCai. i cheated, i watched the ending before i started to watch this movie so i know he's alive. i knew something was not right when she came in and supposedly he died. i think they wanted to do this prank on her so that she can tell the truth about how she feels for him.what i thought was funny was the note he kept on the hoodlums that beat him up.
