Oooooooo tous ces films français, comme c'est gentil ............ à l'époque où on saait faire des films, pas comme aujourd'hui où c'est lesperformances au lit qui déterminent les projets.
10.Lawrence of Arabia (love the acting, the cinematography, the storytelling, everything about it is golden. It's a little lengthy for my taste, and from what I heard, many scenes from this movie are now lost, so that's why it's number 10)
9. The Shawshank Redemption (nothing that new or innovative about...anything in this film, but it is still well told, well acted, and its themes speak on a universal scale, even if it has to rely more on sentiment to get its point across)
8. Amadeus (another somewhat lengthy picture, but the subject matter and these characters--even if they are fictionalized for artistic license--are very interesting, and I became hooked from the very first minute since)
7. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (as far as Fantasy genre in film goes, this is both the perfect adaptation of a somewhat meh book, and arguably the best Fantasy film out there. Only the length works against it, but it is acceptable nonetheless)
6. The Maltese Falcon (WARNING: I love this movie a lot more than Citizen Kane. Though to be fair, I grew up with this movie in my collection of VHS tapes, and it was my first forray into adult Film Noir, and I became a fan of Bogart due to this movie)
5. On the Waterfront (easily my favorite Best Picture winner, and arguably Marlon Brando's best performance. I know a lot of people enjoy Last Tango in Paris, A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Godfather, but this is it for me)
4. The Lion King (trivia: I seen this movie 4 times in theaters, once for each theatrical issue. I love the scope, I love the music, the story is essentially Hamlet meets Moses, and while I have since became aware of its flaws, it is my personal pick)
3. The Dark Knight (by far my best movie-going experience. I had low expectations for this movie because I didn't enjoy Batman Begins, and while I'm aware of the films problems, I feel that it jus adds to the credibility of this picture)
2. Pulp Fiction (these top 2 films are, in my honest opinion, perfect. Absolutely flawless for my generation. I have no idea what to say because anything I could say would be redundant. The dialogue, the acting, the writing, it gets better with each successive viewing)
1. Back To The Future (takes the cake for being a cleaner viewing experience. Like Pulp Fiction, this movie (alone) is perfect. And this is coming from a guy that never saw it until I was like 18 years old. Fantastic!)
Great Taste;) Love the Fact that You have Vertigo at Number 1, I so expected the same old story The Godfather or Citizen Kane at number 1 but kind of glad its Vertigo!
