I always find it funny that you can defeat some of the largest and most powerful enemies, yet a swarm of chickens completely destroy's you.

This also happened in A Link to the Past, but you really had to keep hitting the chicken for a looong time... and it was easier to escape - you just had to exit the screen you were on.
