up to how many watts of speakers can this controller deal with ? i mean does it work on party speakers ? club maybe or open space ? PLZ I NEED AN ANSWER !!
It works for all your Dj and party needs, trust me... The largest event I used it was a huge high school gymnasium. I had it hooked to 2000 watts and 4 speakers and it banged like there was no tomorrow.
Don't buy this mine lasted 15 minutes until the internal audio card blew out and on top of that they don't give you support without a support code which you either purchase or get one complimentary one. You cannot even talk to a live person without it. Also the Fast Track Pro is incompatible with this the driver stomps the Xponents Driver. Check the forums you'll see all the problems this thing has...
I bought this a few months back and I, personally, fucking love it. If you know what you're doing and actually trying to really create an atmosphere, this is perfect. I can admit it's a product that can allow for anyone to think they are hot shit DJs. Odds are though they aren't using it to it's full ability and actually trying. If you actually get into and the program, using both at the same time, you can find it's actually really great. Plus, my set up and break down, so fast.
@LittleNegrilio I absolutely agree, their support system doesnt let you talk to anyone unless you have a support code which you either get a one time use one with a new product or you have to purchase it. They sell the XSession Pro (Mixlab) as compatible with Vista. They say the XSession Pro is Vista 64 bit compatible but that Torq LE is not. Then how can they advertise its compatible. Even the audio dealers said 60% of their complaint calls are for Avid/M-Audio/Digidesign products!
ive been trying to decide whether to get this or the numark omni control and i had pretty much decided on this but then i heard that the sliders/faders were almost unusably light and had v. little resistance - is this so? if it is then ill go for the numark despite its tiny jog wheels
how do you assign functions to buttons, such as the way you assigned the cue point set to one of the green deck buttons? The plus and minus buttons under the scratch wheel also don't do anything unless you assign them?
excuse me do you need extra sound card to connect it to laptop??? and also the button is hard to press or not?? cuz im planning to get one for begginer. please reply. thank you.
hey i want to know which program you're using because i have it. and the program the torq dont scratch, and virtual dj, is not compatible wit the xponent at 100% please i need help!!!!!
Does anyone know if the crossfader is reversable? if so how?. I just got mine and cannot figure it out. I am looking forward to posting my vids, but i want to make sure i know how to use it.
I have one myself and let me tell your that it works like magic..easy all the way..my only problem is on the begining for some reason have connection problems i have to reset my laptop a few times to get it to run right..also sometime i have to reset my original settings because scratching lose sensativity.. everything else works fine..
Finally, I think these types of devices are a natural evolution. Professionals are embracing it, and there is no reason to shun it. The Torq software is just OK-I've had some latency and stability issues. I am looking into Traktor Pro for a more precise and efficient software component. Overall its been a great experience. Deepfrequencies also said it best: don't play garbage!
I agree with most of what has been said here. I bought this piece of hardware about two months ago, and have been using Torq. I had never matched a beat in my life prior to this. With all the research I've done, and working with this thing extensively...it is just another tool to get the job done. I like to use 'Sync' when experimenting, but don't use it when I am recording a set or playing for friends. I am trying to learn timing and matching by ear-I think this is the right way to do it.
does this come with software? and how easy is it for someone who knows music , music theory and has some recording and production skills to pick up and learn?
@tucker111593 yes it comes with torq you can download it once you have one of these bad boys n its free...alot of people get confused n think its 50$ on their website but thats a major upgrade but not necessary, n i've been researching n this on the top of my list to get so i would recommend it
I don't really understand why you are arguing about sync, what does it matter if it has it or not, its there for your convenience. You don't have to use it at all, and even if you do, my idea of DJing isn't the way you do it but how it sounds, so its whatever.
This is DJ evolution and people don't understand that "real" DJs probably helped design many of this stuff.
IMO this is a great piece of hardware, but it is still not better than using CDJs and a DJM. Bottom Line.
its what shit djs do dont worry you will get it alot o youtube :/ Syncing is something that normally has to be done...the audience wont and shouldn't be able to tell the difference. So if you analyse that it means that its contributing nothing to your performance as long as its done...it isnt anything. All that using the button (that is optional as you said) means is you have more time to do things to the music that the audience will notice.
shit djs cant hack that caus they have nothing to add
True. After being able to use this controller, I found that its better than you really would imagine. The Torq software is quite nice, and one of the best features IMO, is the waveforms that are shown, like with most software. With the waveform right in front of you playing, just like if you were using CDJ-900s or 2000s, the tables smoothly search through tracks and has great touch abilities. A lot of stuff can be remapped, so you can probably do a lot more than what comes standard.
I said this because I heard it from a lot of other DJs.
You shouldn't have said real DJs don't sync. When you say that it gives people the impression that using this hardware is not for a 'real' DJ. I said that this isn't for the real DJ because you make it seem like no real DJ would touch this thing.
Then you say this is an amazing piece of hardware.
And obviously I know that real DJs play at weddings and events.. ..?
@MU51CLOV3R hmm i dont think u make a good point bro, wether you manually beatmatch the tracks or autosync them, thats all your really doing, just makin sure they are in sync with eachother., makes it easier for u to concentrate on da mix and play with the effects, :)
@nuttybeatsproduction are you ten? i hate people like you who have a computer and apiece of tech like this and think your a dj. Gimmie a set of 1200s and ill whoop your douchbag ass on your comp. hell gimmie a set of belt drives and ill still show you how a real dj does it.
It actually sounds good. I have a friend that let me mix for him at the club (electro/top 40 for that night). The exponent is really nice because of the built in midi, and the sound is good. Who ever told u that was lieing
thats not true, i rock them on my EAP 700 watt speakers and they rock. better than my IDJ2 set, really a great set! id recomend them. Good luck man!!!!
Yea.. you can load in VSTs, so basically you can drop in and load any effect imaginable. You can also rewire it into ableton live, giving you all its effects
hey Bill, when you use the mic on this console, do you need to use one of the channels on the mixer or does have a separate channel for that? I use BCD3000 from behringer, but using Virtual vinyl software I can't use the MIC, and if I use the traktor software that comes with it, everytime I need to use the mic I loose channel 1, so it's either you talk or you mix... THX a lot!!! awesome vids. planning to trade the BCD for this one.
I'm pretty sure it's controlled by a separate knob, but make sure you have an xlr to 1/4"inch cable or an xlr-1/4" adapter. Good luck with your trade!
well, the effects are in torq, so it's basically waht you get with torq. I would say they are comparable to traktor and serato, although I think traktor has the best fx layout.
it's a re-edit of the classic track by Kano called "it's a war". You can find it on Carl Craig and Laurent Garnier's Kings of Techno compilation. I can't remember if the CD is mixed or has separate tracks. I know that the vinyl has the tracks separated. This re-edit is by alfador. I don't, but i was essentially using my itunes library on our studio mac with my dj mp3s loaded in. Torq, like traktor works with an explorer like interface that allows you to go into any of your folders.
