@MisuOfArabonaClan naa, ACDC have been ADMITTEDLY making the same album for the last 40 years, all to make a large pile of money. Nine Inch Nails actually bothered to try and do something different, and it works really well. Reznor and Co do it for the sake of expression and music, rather than tour after tour of the same shit on a different day. and yes, we have thought about it before the hate...
I think you mean the intro to "1,000,000." And yes, it is the same drum beat, but I'm sure this isn't the only occasion that things like that happen. The drum beat for Green Day's new song "Know Your Enemy" is the same as "1,000,000"/"Rebel Girl" too. It's too simple not to be used more than once, so I wouldn't call it stolen. Godsmack's "Time Bomb" bears striking resemblance to NIN's "Last." I really doubt it's anything more than coincidence. Music recycles itself.
The drum part is easy to understand, sure, but playing it that loud and consistent? i've been practicing this for the last 45 minutes and it is hard! BTW, that part at 2:47 when the bass and snare drop out? HUGE.
I know how to do the Drums to this Song its not that hard you might think it is because of one part of the song but you just have to remember that its just a simple 4/4 beat but faster thats all.
Actually, rich183 and beer4me88, you're both wrong. Nine Inch Nails started 1988, so the band is at least twenty years old now. Trent Reznor was born on May 17, 1965 so he's about 43. Don't believe me... look it up.
Now I'm a fan of Nine Inch Nails, but I can safely say that Reznor has aged a LOT. I mean, just listen to his voice. I know it's not perfect quality, but still, look at him. He's much older...
Ok, correct me if I'm wrong or make a mistake. You say Reznor is 20. NIN started in the early 90's. So, if my math and your assumption is correct, Trent Reznor started NIN when he was about 5 years old?
The key word in my last comment was NEW, the NEW drummer. Josh Freese is not the new drummer, as he has been with NIN since 2005. He has left however, NIN's new drummer is Ilan Milan from the band Lostprophets. He was born in July, 1988 which makes him 20 years old

God! Nine Inch Nails always have an amazing live performance! Can't wait to see you guys again in greenville south Carolina! Thank you for all you do, your music gets me through it day by day.
"The Slip" is a good album, but I'd have to say that "Ghosts I-IV" is my all-time favorite NIN album due to the amount of depth and vastness it has. That album hasn't left my stereo since I bought a copy.
Dont think so, Year Zero was an unreal ambient Trent created, it has nothing to do with feelings and deep/ personal thoughts, its the only one which has broke that line of mind stuff and feelings, with The Slip, NIN has returned to all that deeper shit and bad, really bad heartaches
I mean, it's all Trent. In YZ there was outer feeling. The Slip is an answer to YZ. The deeper answer from the inside. There was YZ stuff with ambient, there were some people in there with their feelings and thoughts, here we have The Slip. In my personal feeling it's the slip into yourself after experiencing YZ "world".
you know like joe satriani and john petrucci. michael angelo batio and whatnot. but mostly frank zappa, zeppelin, warmen. the occasional technical death metal band and BAM back in the shots for good. hows that for a slice of fried gold
urrgh... this song may possible have one of the worst guitar riffs i've ever heard. if you want to call that a riff... its screechy and repetative... and oh so much of both...

I think you mean the intro to "1,000,000." And yes, it is the same drum beat, but I'm sure this isn't the only occasion that things like that happen. Yeah I figured you were probably watching both videos or something when you commented. No big. And intros are definitely the same.

The beat to 1,000,000 is, like he said, a very common beat that gets used a lot in punk music.
If you think someone could "steal" something as simple as 1-2-3&4& you must not know to much about music.
