The elevator is parked on the first floor. The doors were open but the lights were off. It appears as if they are finishing the wiring to the control panel as it was also open. Everything else looks complete.
I dont know about these but on the new ones they are installing at a residence hall here, they remove the cab. Then they remove the old ram which comes in sections and they take it out. They attach a machine wilth a drill to the guide rails and somehow drill out the old and install the new. I am going to try to get some video of this as they replace some of the other elevators here on campus.
No those are in the residence halls. Each hall still has one of the wood looking ones each that I will get sometime this month. This is the original elevator other than the fixtures were replaced in 1998.
Yep, this building is controlled by the state so they run off of contracts and Schindler must have won for this year. Strange thing is, is that the local elevator guy is still the same so I guess he switched from ThyssenKrupp to Schindler as well.
Canon powershot SX20. I wont be using this one in public as it is a large camera mostly for family pics and outings. But I will recapture all of my campus elevators with this. Thanks.
Have they made any more progress on these elevators?

How do you replace a hydraulic cylinder? What happens to the cab during the replacement?

Nice elevator. I know my camera looses focus on the inspection certificate.

Nice camera! Sad to see that Schindler had to do the modernizations though.

That new camera is incredible! Only problem is that it seems to loose focus easily.
