Green cover is the engine with catalyzer (only 4x4 from 1990), red is without catalyzer (2wd (204hp)up to 1989 & 4wd(220hp) from 1990, i have one :-)). Also blue cover is sometimes seen, but it is engine from escort cosworth.

there are red blue and green ones... atleast.. i saw that. but i dont know what the difference between those colors and engines are?

I heard somewhere that the green rocker cover was used on "emissions" cars that were sold where they had tighter pollution laws.
