I was born with a cleft lip. Mine wasn't a bad as many other peoples, but I still had to go through a lot. I've had 8 to 9 surgeries, my latest one being three years ago, but I'm pretty much done now & the results look great. I had my first surgery when I was 7 months old & my last one when I was 21. My last surgery I had my scar reconstructed to look more like a cupids bow. My old scar was more U shaped, but now it's straighter looking & it looks great!

i think i'm class 4 but i was operated when i was 1 years old. i still got many surgery to go. i have a problem with speech, but that doesn't stop me from talking haha :D but mine is okay.

now i understand,, i am a mom of a 3month old baby girl with a unilateral incomplete cleft lip. we're waiting until she reach 10 kilograms to get her operation done..please pray for my baby.. more power and Godbless^^

@1LiamAce1 its not really that big of a deal. People who have clefts are still human. They are the strongest people going through surgeries and peoples comments and stares. Having a difference is not a big deal nor the end of the world. :)

@littlemoroccan yup :D i have a cleft palate, but people see me as the happy go lucky girl. i talk alot, and like meeting new friends that's my personality. i'm already in my 4th year in college :D but hey i'm proud of myself, no one can take away my confidence and my self esteem i just wish some people are like me, who still happy for who they are

@veranaika Here Here I'm from Scotland and coming 16 next week in the past I did feel insecure about having both a Cleft lip and Palate but as the years went on I just started 2 feel a lot better about myself also people still make fun of me but very rarely cause they don't notice the retched scar or cause people in my year at school know not 2 bother me cause I have a slight anger issue(but I can control it a lot better now than I used 2)other than that I get on in life despise my speech is....

@veranaika getting better but remember be proud of who u are I'm genially nice person I have said and done things in the past which I regret and I'm trying 2 prove 2 people I have changed but where I come from a rural farming village people just don't get it and it just gets me down a lot but it won't matter too long I'm joining up next year or as I can when I'm done in school remember be strong be proud who u are like a Skinhead

my son was born with cleft lip, cleft palate, thank God he got both repair in his first year of age, God blesses Dr. Ernest Cronin and his team to make smiles on children.

@arlyns23 i have a cleft lip and palate and there is a camp in indiana for kids with the same things going on so if you want to get him involved we would love to have him come:) as long as he is 8-18
