to be honest... it was not his best result in FP. Evgeni skated with a bad leg with cauterized, nevertheless he was able to make a complex program, this is a measure of skill, plus a big psychological pressure placed on him by detractors. Obviously, he was given little points of the elements of SP. If he got much deserved, he would have all the same been the first even though not a perfect FP.

To everyone complaining that Evgeny was robbed. Figure skating is more than just jumps. his 2010 LP at the olympics was a mess. none of his jumps were clean. Evan outscored Evgeny in the technical score(jumps etc.).

The olympics is over but I am still fuming. Evgeni was robbed. There is no other skater better than him. Only Yagudin in his prime could compete with Plushenko. This olympics has been a big effing joke.

Evgeni's personal story of going to St. Petersburg alone at 11, his great talent as a child and having to give up everything to be the best -- and then the very fact that he is the best -- all makes the judges' poor decisions at Vancouver really painful. Johnny Weir was also robbed. Obviously lots of politics going on behind the scene.

@SimonaCB Well actually, when you look at the way Figure skating is going, like he said he will no longer need to go highly strenuous physical moves, instead he could focus on being technically perfect in everything. If Figure skating stays the way it is now, there's no reason as to why he couldn't win in the next two Olympics and championships.
