  • who do you sell them to

  • How do you protect them from predators?????

  • Great!

You have given me a couple of ideas...

    carry on then....

  • @alaric63 whom has given u ideas??? lol =D

  • As an employee (slaughterman) of burrawong, here are the answers to your questions, no they arn't on steroids... the marima breed of dog protects the chickens from foxes. and the killing is done all 100% by hand, 0% cruelty

  • you could speak a little slower coz audience may be global and many dont speak good english.

  • Well, this really does look great!

And I love the concept of moving the coops around.

Aren't those birds pretty buff? Imean, are they under obligation to ingest the usual fare of antibiotics and steriods and all those nice things?

I am in no way being critical, purely curious, and concerned.

    Great Video.

  • what about the local preditars like foxes ?

  • Tyson Poultry Company has the image but their chickens are raised up in "slave cages" and fed growth hormones.

  • wonderful. So glad to see this type of farming practise, thumbs up from me.

  • Thats's how chickens are mostly risen in Ecuador and nobody makes a documental of that.

Developed countries are reinventing the wheel?

  • What about hawks and another predators? You do not have problem in this way?

  • They may be happier and healthier, but what about at the end of their life? Are they killed quickly, or are they hung up live, and electrocuted before passing the cutting device that may or may not cut their throats properly, bleeding to death within a few minutes, or not bleeding to death and then going into the boiler still alive? These farming practises are all well and good, but why is it that nobody will reveal what their slaughtering practises are? Because they are horrific, that's why.

  • @rubysausagedog Who cares how they're killed, they're just animals.

  • @rubysausagedog

While yes, I know that most mass meat slaughtering is rather horrific, but not standard for ALL slaughtering. It's intended to simply be 'efficient' and torture is not an intended part of the process, it is just an unsavory outcome.

I can not say that the soul reason this video does not 'reveal their slaughtering practices' is due to them being Horrific but for the simple fact that People just don't want to see it.

It seems killing anything, even humanely, is often shunned.

  • Prob ok in Oz. But free range in the UK means the chooks don't leave the sheds in poor weather (6mths/yr). & free range sheds are not properly heated or ventilated. Uk winter Free range chooks live in worse conditions than Broiler chooks!

  • Those are happy chickens. I can tell.

  • On keeping them safe, they had a dog that would protect the chickens.

    I'm not sure about eggs.

I did take a LOT of time and effort to move the feed away from the coops, to encourage them outside. Otherwise they just stay in the coop.

They keep warm in winter due to body heat we're told.

  • I'm guessing luck had nothing to do with it.

how can you keep them safe?

  • great

  • What about eggs?

  • How tall were the coops? looks to be around 24-28"

  • lucky for so much of free space..
