  • reminds me of hogan

  • May be one of the worst camera men of all time

  • It's a very nice swing, but all of you admit that you'd rather be cool and buttery like freddy if you could.

  • Nice swang, Trevor....

  • people who leave bad comments about Trevor Immelman are ignorant idiots

  • it went right for sure.

  • Aaron Baddeley and Jhonattan Vegas.. Best swings on tour!

  • I think that Aaron Baddeley have the best swing in all golf

  • hoganesque

  • the best swing is the one thats works more then any others since there IS NO perfect swing. Woods in 2000, for him that was HIS best swing for him.

  • only thing choppy is the camera lol

  • ben hogan. best swing ever . even the profs will tell you that

  • I gotta disagree with this being even close to the best swing. Best swing on tour by far is Rory Mcilroy. Followed by Ernie, And Jonathan Byrd. Oh, you guys should check out Charles Schwartzel. Amazingly beautiful swing.

  • to all the apparent butch harmons on here, if you comparing els and couples to this swing or tigers or adam scott, You should probably go play on your nearest freeway. There is a difference between a fluid swing and a fundamentally sound swing. Els goes inside, couples is like 6 feet about the plane line. So yeah great tempo terrible fundamentals. but if plane means nothing to you guys then everyone on tour has a great swing as long as they are "fluid".

  • My picks for best swing (in no order): Tom Purtzer, Ernie Els, young Sam Snead, Steve Elkington, Gary Hallberg, David Graham, David Frost.

  • really good swing, maybe a little bit too much rotation with his driver though. jonathan byrd's swing is more on plane, anthony kim's swing is simpler. Tiger's swing isn't the reason he's the best. He misses a lot of fairways. He's the best because of his short game, recovery shots, and his ability to get the ball in the hole when he needs to.

  • this is a terrible swing under pressure. It is pure upper body and pure garbage.

  • @jhirsh51 Garbage? yet won the masters. I hate how youtube is littered with the biggest idiots on the planet

  • Adam Scott has probably the best swing on tour atm although there is a case for Fred couples

  • The best swings in golf belong to those who hit the most greens in regulation -- everything else is cosmetic.

  • @bizzman22 great minds think a like!

  • "best swing in the history of golf" are you kidding me?

  • I think Ernie Els and Fred Couples' swings are way more fluid and better

  • Tiger is the best!!!!

    obviously

  • this is a swing that should be emulated. Short, compact, on plane. He takes back and forward on the same line.

The simplicity of his swing makes it great!

I swing like that now and have achieved great consistency.

  • maybe not the best but maybe the most effectiv.

  • I agree. Trevor has the most technically sound swing.

  • david duval by far the smoothest on tour

  • It is a very good swing. Best in golf? Hmmm. very subjective. Results are what really matter in golf. He did win a major or two didn't he? I agree he has a very fine swing.

  • i actually like stuart applebys swing better

  • Couples has immaculate tempo, but his swing isn't that good. Trevor along with Jonathon Byrd have the two best swings in golf.

  • He is the closest professional to Hogan with his swing. Only one could wish to swing this perfect.

  • So right, swagga...I've never seen two people swing that much alike, not even Tiger and Adam Scott. Stop the action at the top of the backswing on a DTL shot, and it's like you're looking at the same guy with different clothes. It's an awfully, awfully good swing.

  • Couples has one of the worst swings on tour, to say that it is better than Trevor's is the sign of an idiot.

  • seriously some of these people think Freddy's swing is like Hogan or something. Freddy has great rhythm, but his swing is all over the place.

  • Are you fucking kidding me? Couples? You have no idea how good he is/was. What a dumb thing to say. You would be a guy who would bag on Trevino or Nicklaus or Palmer...Furyk...etc. etc.

  • mp67, you have got to be kidding.

Yeah, I'd probably take Immelman's mechanics start to finish over Couples', but Couples is gold one he makes that initial move down, and has had a lot better career than Immelman despite being a very inconsistent putter. Not to mention that many pros love Couples' swing. But hey, I guess you know who the "idiots" are.

  • as far as greatest swing goes

    immelmans is pretty good

but it aint no els, goosen, or couples

  • y r people critizing the fuckin masters champion. he has a fuckin great swing. there is no suck thing as a perfect swing. its just the swings that r "good" make it easier for players to square the club at impact

  • You are a complete moron. I give you a 0 out of 10.

  • That was great.

  • i agree bourne accident is an idiot . if you win the masters then you have to have a dam good swing

  • yep, his swing is great

  • @rkodavey - agrreeeed. but he's kind of right.. bad posture. inconsistency is huge with that.

  • @rkodavey I've always liked his swing, but don't think it is anywhere near the best on pga/european tours.....my opinion best, most controlled, smoothest swing is oosthuizen's and then maybe Rory's in second.

  • Comment removed

  • I am not here to hype Immelman but he has a very good swing obviously.

  • @BourneAccident and where is your green jacket

  • @BourneAccident - Agrreeeed

  • @BourneAccident Sloppy?! Everything is in sync. I think your golf swing philosophy is sloppy.

  • Not sure what kind of shot he's trying to hit, but it looks like he takes it inside too much and too early. Kinda reminds me of a Zach Johnson swing, which I don't like. Duval (prime), Ogilvy, Mcilroy, Scott, Love, Tiger...all these guys have the best swings ever. It's stupid to try and pick one person who has the all-time best. Every swing is different, yet equally effective and pretty to watch.

  • Looks a bit like mine, to be very honest :)

  • looks alot like Hogan's

  • Textbook!

  • Thanks, bout time someone put a slo-mo of his swing on here!!!

  • Look at video, sam snead, and compare.

  • I think so many professional golfers has a perfect swing. But my favorite is Sam Sneed, because it's a natural swing. It was not that big money in golf that time. He was just a sportsman with a super swing.

  • that could be the silliest thing i have read on youtube..

  • A ridiculous debate. The swing is only part of the game. Tiger is the best because he also has a terrific short game and is a wizard with the putter.

One thing we can say is that Vardon had the yips later is his career and that would have made it impossible to beat Tiger 6&5 'most days.'

  • Harry Vardon pisses on the lot of them - back in the day when the game was alot different!

Vardon would have beat Tiger 6&5 most days.

  • couldnt agree more theres much more strength in depth nowadays even the standard on mini tours which i play on is so much higher than it used to be

  • Tiger is better than Jack. ok, Jack had to face Watson, Palmer, and all those guys. but thats just it...tournaments were basically between a group of guys. Today, you have tournaments that are really contested by the whole field. whether you agree or not, the competition is tougher in this era. technology and talent is better. there arent as many stars because the only one dominating is Tiger. which shows the level of competition. Tiger is better. this isnt even what the video is about xD

  • Danic, he won the open by 15 shots..'nuff said

  • if your happy with second, your playing the wrong game, take a 9-5 job at a cubical, you play sports to win...

  • I still can't believe what you are saying. You should gain some respect for those older players. Hackers!!! you must be joking. There was depth back in the day, trouble is your so ignorant of the past. Do you think that players like Quigley, Faxon are going to be remebered in the future? Much like good players back in the day.

Tiger is not as good as Nicklaus yet, he has yet to surpass his record. I will repeat this again. John Gustin has the best swing in the world, immelman is close though.

  • I know someone who played on tour back then and he is definatle not a hacker and Seve used to be able to hit a draw with every shot with a wood and cut with every shot with an iron now that is a big ask in fact even Tiger would probably stuggle to do it with the old balls they used to use and do it consistently there is no way you can say that yes the game has come on and imo Tiger is better than Nicklaus but the players back then like seve wer still good

  • Meh, lot of tour players win less than once per year, but still earn millions playing golf. Beats a 9-5 job any day.

  • he showed his swing also works under pressure, he has a problem w/ his putt. Nicklaus was better than Tiger is by now. He faced Palmer,Ballesteros,Faldo,Watson... Forget about his 14 major, he was runner-up 19 times!!

  • Tiger doesn't have the best swing on tour? Give me a break. Nobody can produce the shots he does. Nobody hits it like him. He gets a little sideways, but still, nobody can hit the shots he does. You can sit on the range and watch Trever hit beautiful shots all day, but under pressure there is only one swing that i would want, T.Woods.

  • Being under pressure has nothing to do with your swing, just how you manage it mentally. Besides, Tiger's swing wouldn't work for 95% of the people who would try it because they just simply aren't built the way he is.

  • Being under pressure has nothing to do with your swing? What are all the pros' striving for...a swing that repeats under pressure! I didn't say Tiger's swing was the easist to copy. Being under pressure has EVERYTHING to do with your swing. If not tell me why people(including pros) hit it the best on the range.

  • dont you need to be mentally tough to manage it under pressure? you need to be able to produce the same swing you do when you're on the range! The reason Tiger is so good is b/c of his mental game!

  • There isn't a shot Tiger can't hit. His repertoire is second to none. Do you think he is going out there with an average swing and is just mentally tougher than everyone else? He can produce more shots than anybody, period. We just differ on what constitutes a golf swing.

  • OK im sick of arguing as well. besides, i didnt say that his swing wasnt good or even just average.

  • he also has the ability to minimise the damage on a bad hole also his b or c game can still win tournements not just his a game

  • Immelman probably has the best swing on tour. Its not mechanical like someone posted. Its the closest to Hogans as it's going to get. Tiger is the best player no doubt, but he doesn't have the best swing on tour.

  • Can't say that swing is classic or fluid. It looks very mechanicalized, or manufactured. A pure swing was like Hogan or Jones. Just my opinion.

    Cheers.

  • well if by manufactured or mechanized you mean he doesnt miss, then yes it is. not trying to be a dick, but immelman models his swing after hogan per various interviews with immelman himself and his role model gary player

  • Is this guy swinging over the top or what, what a shit swing

  • wow...over the top? he is hitting a fade..

  • Comment removed

  • Over the top?? You must be kidding me.

  • His spine angle is half a degree to much, plus he brings club up rather than wrapping it around his body bet he plays of ten or eleven, he should also move his head up and down creating what we call ultra lag

  • I think you guys need to see golf swings like Al Geiberger, or Tom Weiskopf, Sam Snead, and Mickey Wright........my favorite golfer of all time is Ben Hogan, due to what he made of his golf swing....and how he created something from just a superior mind and dedicated practice......but these previous guys, and gal... are the best examples for amateur golfers to model.....and are without a doubt the smoothest swings ever in golf........let me know what you think after watching them....

  • and..tiger has won like 10 times in the last 2 years, off a very limited schedule, pretty sure garcia and karlsson havent won 10 times combined, let alone by themselves. and buddy let take a look at our own swings. Yours is shit clearly, and mine, well mine is "immelman like" if that means a good swing in your world.

  • I agree with most of what you're saying. As far as the best swing in the world, it's hard to argue against Tiger's. But Tiger's swing is so great, only he can do it. If you want to talk about a swing for the average person to try to copy, I'd go with Immelman over Tiger, only because, like I mentioned, Tiger's swing is so advanced and has such crazy positions that it would be unwise for a normal person to even attempt it. But one on one, Tiger's swing is better than Trevor's no doubt about it.

  • tiger is obviously a better player than immelman is at 100% but look at the comparison between immelman's swing and hogans. theres hardly any differance. Tiger's swing IS better in the sense that his miss is a right shot while immelman has a tendancy to flip it and lose it left. Tiger's a better player, but immelman's swing is pretty damn good

  • Can't wait to hit golf balls man. Michigan FUCKING SUCKS!!!

  • Immelman's swing is the perfect one for handicap golfers to mimic....Tigers works for him but it would cripple anyone other than an athlete.....why do you think his knee is shot? I bet the bank that we see a re-modelled swing from Tiger when he is back fit, because he won't stay fit long enough to beat Nicklaus' record without a less physically demanding swing...he doesn't need it anyway!

  • I agree completely. And for those who are saying that Trevor do not have a good driver swing, just search 'Trevor Immelman Swing Vision'. The rhythm and body rotation is just amazing. So much turn and extension, but extremely clean and smooth as well.

I'd say he also have the best driver swing of all players.

  • If only. Tigers knee will be better than it has been for 10 years. I'm doing ACL reconstruction research in sporting injuries and the surgery that Tiger has had is very impressive. The rehab will go amazing as it is Tiger and he probs has the best team ever with him so there shouldnt be any problems. If anything he will be able to swing even harder now. I know.....sounds wrong doesnt it?!! Not just great technology in clubs anymore.

  • uhm. i know what your saying but i think mimicing trevors swing would cripple an average golfer as well. do you know how are it is turn like that with your hips practically not moving? i actually went through physical therapy for a few months on my left rotator cuff because i was trying to make that move for a while and wasn't near flexible enough. and i'm 6'2" slim 175lbs. bottom line.. beautiful swing, reminds me a lot of hogans

  • thats a better swing than tigers

call me crazy but tiger can not control his swing like trevor and other guys

his mind is the thing that wins him tournaments

  • i agree 100%

  • Adam Scott, Ernie Els and Goose all swing it better. Even Tom Kite. Trevor swings it nice but he looses control with the driver. Tiger's swing at Pebble Beach in 2000 smokes all of them.

  • ha ernie dosnt swing it better ernies rythmn is wat ur thinkin bout. scott has the most fundamentally sound swing ever but immelman has perfect ryhtmn and technique scott can get quite fast and lose timing. however tigers swing is on plane all the time and is the best swing out ther.

  • Adam Scott has the same swing as Tiger. the most fundamentally sound text book swing belongs to Davis Love. the most beautiful swing belongs to Fred Couples followed by Ernie Els and myself...hehe.

  • Tiger's swing is awful right. I can't believe he's won 13 majors and has been #1 in the world for 10+ years with that swing of his.

  • must be luck

  • Your not crazy but you are wrong. Immelmans swing is one of my favourites but if he had more control than Tiger then he would have won more than one major. Scotts swing is nice, but doesn't have the natural rythem or feel, its too manafcutured.

  • the reason tiger wins so much is because of his putting and his ability to play his best when it counts for the most

and immelman does have more controll than tiger

its just tiger mastered the stinger and that saved him

    and ur right about scott

it has noooo feel and thats why he hasnt one a major

  • Tiger Woods consistently has one of the best ball striking stats on tour, which is even better when you consider what his driving his like. With his driver maybe trevor has more control, but not in any other department.

  • tigers ball striking off the tee is poor considering hes world number 1! Trevors swing is exactly like ben hogan said it should be its just a shame he doesnt have the mental edge & determination like tiger has or he would have won many majors. The stinger did save tiger & he uses this lyk 10 - 12 a week normally if you look at his stats& most of them are in stupid situations where he misseed the fairway with his dodgey driving. His 3wood is like irons and mostly perfect but his drivers shocking!

  • tiger's driving stats are bad, but i dont think you realize how narrow the fairways are on tour. Generally, the courses are pretty open in terms of bush and OB (well really open), but the most fairways are honestly ten yards or 15 yards wide. So when you hit it 320 like Tiger, you cant get away with the slightest fade or draw, or pull or push, simply because your errors are magnified that much when you hit it that far. There arent many players with good accuracy stats that hit it as far as Tiger

  • so all im saying is that you guys act like Tiger hits it all over the place, he doesnt. if you ever saw him play youd be astounded at how straight he, and everyone else on tour, hits it. as for immelman's swing, its not even near tigers. take a look at tiger's swing, IT'S PERFECT!!! its the best golf swing there has ever been.

  • mate if tigers swing is so perfect how come his body cannot take it? he ob viosuly have a very good swing but hel HAVE to somehow change it if he wants to become the greatest player of all time... & how can u say his swing is better than Immelmans? comeon immelmans is a PERFECT example of what Ben Hogans fundemtals of a swing should be! come back to me when you find some info that says it isnt!!!

  • are you honestly trying to say tiger's swing isnt the best there is!!!??? You are retarded. For starters, Tiger already is the best player of all time, what Nicklaus did doesnt compare to what tiger is doing because the fields nicklaus played against didn't anywhere near the depth of today. sure there were 10 or so great players, but that was it. pretty much only those 10 guys won in that time. as for the ben hogan crap, who says hogans' swing is better than tiger's?? cause its not.

  • as for the short game comment, well, how many great players has their ever been with bad short games, let me think, zero!. and what are you talking about with garcia and sergio, if there impeccable ball strikers and great short game players, WHY CANT THEY BEAT TIGER. please take the time to look at tigers swings, their perfect. as for immelmans' swing right here, he takes it really inside, and usually, he is very laid off at the top. He has a very nice swing, but dont even put it near tiger's.

  • also, tiger is a very good ball striker. he leads, or almost leads, the tour every year in GIR, which is dependent on where you position your drives and how well you hit your irons. also, keep in mind, that tiger's stats always take a hit each year because he only plays hard courses (at the big events)which doesnt give him the opportunity to pad his stats at easy events.

  • haha ur a fool mate.. Tiger plays when & where the appearance moneys the greatest just like any other pro would! yes okay all pros have gd short games but garcias a wizard arounds the greens just like seve! and i was only commenting his driving ability mate so dont try and turn this into all out war! Immelmans better off the tee and miles more consitant off the tee FACT!

  • Ummm exucse me how many times did sergio and Karlsson win last lor how many top 10s did they have if they didnt win? more than tigers has in around 2 seasons! yes i am trying to say tigers swings not the best in the world because when he doesnt hit it right he FADES the ball!! even if u dont catch the ball it should still go straight to the point of aim! + Tigers swings is physically demolishing his body. are you blind? or does 2 knee ops in 4 years not speak for itself. point proven you Joke!

  • WOW, you are making fun of Tiger's golf game. Seriously. You probably playin a joke on me with those comments. In case your not...Tiger can shape the ball where ever the **** he wants it to go. Yeah, he misses fairways, but he is an amazing ball striker with a great swing, DONT ARGUE THAT. yeah karlsson and sergio are good, but there nowhere near tiger. neither of them have one majors?? by the way, your swing is a piece of shit, so its pretty funny that your making fun of how tiger hits the ball

  • Tigers wold number 1 for a reason yeh? hed has the best mental vision and determination with a solid swing.. any pro can shape the ball easy! ffs i can shape the ball just not as drastically as any pro! and you wnaa look at your swing mate its shocking.. prob play off about 18 atleast and im off 10 so stop running you mouth u flange! im out of this shit as its very petty... get a JOB or a MRS if u cab find 1 u ugly knob!!

  • yea he obvuiously takes it in side this is where he cut that shot to 10 feet in the play off against justin leonard

  • erm garcia and sergio are the same person, he is called sergio garcia

  • Hogan, in terms of ball striking is probably better than Woods. Even Woods admitted that. I love Woods' swing, but it is not perfect, no one has a perfect swing apart from iron byron, who is a machine. Don't call someone a retard, when they are putting across their own opinion and they have a totally valid arguement.

  • peacemaker here....give it a rest

  • eh?

  • and...tiger's swing is perfect. byron's swing is nowhere near perfect, its consistent, but it aint near perfect. and what tigers doin now is levels above what nelson did. tigers already done things better than nelson 11 win streak. keep in mind that when nelson played there was no DEPTH. None. there were like 5 people who could win tourneys back then. what tigers doin today is beyond anything anyone has ever done, and it will obviously never be repeated.

  • Tiger swing is not perfect, it is fantastic, but if it was perfect then he would hit every fairway and every green, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he is quite there yet? I said iron byron.

  • Maybe there were more people who could win tourneys nowadays, however, Tiger does not have competition, comparitively with what Nelson had. Nelson had Hogan and Snead who are better than tigers competition.

  • thats not the point. the point is that the field these days has 150 great players. nelson had hogan and snead, yes, but nobody else, i already said that. the fact that tiger has no competition is a just an attestment to how great he really is. and, once again tigers swing is in fact perfect. he doesnt hit every fairway because he is human. he twitches, his heartrate fluctuates, and hes not playing golf in a windless dome. but as for his swing, it is perfect.

  • How can his swing be perfect then!!! Hitting every fairway and green, making no mistake would result in a perfect swing. Tiger makes mistakes, like all of us. Who can compare Tigers competition to Hogan and Snead for god sake. All of the other players, who were good players in their time, like Westwood, will not be remebered in 70 years time.

  • And agin, in response to Nicklaus competition. The depth that nickalus played against is far above what Tiger is against. Nickalus played against Hogan, Palmer, Player, Faldo, Ballesteros, Norman, Trevino, Snead, Irwin, Price, Langer, Lyle, Woosnam, Miller, Watson, Peter Thompson, Floyd and much more. All those players are much better than the competition than most of the competition today excluding Singh and Els.

  • once again, your proving my point. the fact that you can name these 12 or 13 players shows that they were the far superior to any other players. This was the case because there was very little depth in the fields, and only these 11 or so guys were the only guys who ever won. They were good players, but were only allowed to emerge because of the lack of depth in the fields. Unlike today's golf where because there is so much depth, very few players have emerged as dominant.

  • in nicklaus' era, there were only like 5 guys that won, simply because of the huge lack of depth. today, it is so so hard to separate yourself, because everyone on tour is really, really good. back in nicklaus' day, after the 10 best in the world, there was a huge decline in skill level. The fact that ur comparing the depth of today to 20 years ago is a joke! cleary today's depth is unbelievably superior to 20 years ago.

  • and about the perfect swing thing. the swing is only part of the game, i though you knew that. you can make a perfect swing and miss a green or fairway, just through a misjudgement.

  • By you saying misjudgement, I imply that you are talking aobut wind, slope lie e.t.c. However, can someone with a 'perfect swing' block the ball 60 yards right, like Tiger is known for? Hogan, Palmer, Player, Faldo, Ballesteros, Norman, Trevino, Snead, Irwin, Price, Langer, Lyle, Woosnam, Miller, Watson, Peter Thompson, Floyd. I could go on. These guys are multiple major winners, there are more than 10 of them aren't there, proving that you are wrong again.

  • I'm with mattyco. There is no doubt much more depth in today's game. I just don't see how you can argue against that. There are so many good players that nobody can separate themselves. Except Tiger. But I don't think any golfer has a perfect swing. Tiger's is the closest thing to it though.

  • There may be a larger field nowadays but the quality of the competition that Tiger faces is nowhere near what Nickalus faced. The competition when faced with Tiger seems to shrink away. However, with Nickalus, many of his competitors have thrived. What esle would lead to multiple major winners like Player, Palmer, Watson, Trevino, Ballesteros, Faldo, Casper and Price. In my opinion you cannot compare Woods' competition to these greats. Is Els, Singh, Monty, Ogivily as could as these old timers?

  • READ MY POST!!!!!!! the reason nobody can win more than a couple tournaments is because the overall quality of the fields is much better today than it ever has been. What, do you think that suddenly, despite increasing numbers of golfers around the world, there are just no more great golfers like there were in nicklaus' era. Explain that. MY POINT IS, the skill level hasnt declined, its just its very hard to rise above everyone else today.

  • and dont respond by listing players from nicklaus' era, because that doesnt prove anything. The majority of those players would maybe have accumulated 2-3 wins in today's game. The fact of the matter is, Tiger has already far exceeded anything anyone else has done, including Nicklaus. If you disagree with that, than i dont know what to say.

  • and please don't patronise me, as you can not seem to accept any type of view that disagrees with you. Instead, can't you question and not be so blinkered as to be so biased.

  • I have never said that skill level has declined. What I am trying to say is that Nicklaus had more competition than Tiger. I am not trying to say are they more skilled, however, when Tiger is playing he is not stretched as much as Nicklaus. That may be a testament to Tiger, to say that he is so far ahead of the competition, or that Tiger's competition is not as good as Nicklaus'. In my opinion, it is a little bit of both. Tiger is not the greatest golfer until he surpasses Jack's record.

  • A huge decline in skill level, can you not see the players that i have listed. They are all world class players!!!

  • yes ur correct there they are very tight... but cummon if he didnt have such a good short game where would tiger be now?

Adam Scotts a great player off the tee but doenst have the best short game though which is sad because he strikes the ball so pure like steve elkington. The only two players (that i can think of) are power hitters with good accuracy and amazing short games are Sergio Garcia and Robert Karllson which is brilliant as there both Europeans:D.

  • its a nice swing, but the greatest swing in golf belongs to the greatest player in golf :D

  • great video...wish there were more slo mo vids of immelman's iron shots

  • Thank you. Just the video I was trying to find.
