@darthkimball they are no longer updating the g1 it will be stuck at the 1.6 android build forever (that means no flash) :( the good thing is that you can root it and get 2.1 or 2.2 on it (2.2 has flash)
@darthkimball well its a mildly complicated process, but its easy enough if you follow the instructions, try googling cyanogenmod or theunlockr to get started, i should warn you though, it is possible to severely mess up your phone if you don't follow the instructions

I believe Adobe is in bed with Apple. Why? Adobe's CS5 creative suite (flash) will include app development frame work. From what I've seen it's dedicated to iphone and requires an Apple app developer regs etc. Seems to me that Android is picking up speed very quickly. As a flash developer I'll be very unhappy if I can't develop apps for Droid and other android phones using an application I already know (flash).

what are you talking about? HTML5 is already supported by webkit, firefox, and opera. with audio, video, and canvas support you can do anything in html5 that you could have done with flash, only faster and cleaner.

The iphone has only 1 major advantage imo which is multi-touch. The iphone carries a higher premium with its store as well, I also hate being tethered to itunes for all my music.
It would be nice to have flash on Android devices, but with the G1's poor battery life, I can't help thinking it would be just a gimmick right now.
I have an iPhone (work) and a G1 (personal), and with the massive amount of development for both devices, small web apps have substituted for the majority of features usually provided by flash.
At least without flash in my browser, I have far fewer visible adverts, and see a great reduction in bandwidth usage to boot.
There's a battery on Amazon that literally makes my G1 last for days on one charge. The only downside is the battery makes the phone a little more bulky. But I think it's well worth the extra, extra, EXTRA battery life.

It would be nice to have flash on Android devices, but with the G1's poor battery life, I can't help thinking it would be just a gimmick right now.
I have an iPhone (work) and a G1 (personal), and with the massive amount of development for both devices, small web apps have substituted for the majority of features usually provided by flash.
At least without flash in my browser, I have far fewer visible adverts, and see a great reduction in bandwidth usage to boot.
I can wait.

There's a battery on Amazon that literally makes my G1 last for days on one charge. The only downside is the battery makes the phone a little more bulky. But I think it's well worth the extra, extra, EXTRA battery life.

Yea, those links were basically websites, its just that the only contect it had was that. But if it has that Im pretty sure it can display normal flash videos etc.

If you read the android website you will see that they are still working with adobe with it.
Adobe is also working with Apple and the iPhone so don't think that we will have flash over iPhone

Of course, its my opinion.
One person might like blondes, another might like brunettes. its a pointless arguement.
Just the fact its open source has me hooked on it.
I have 3 PC's, a mac and a g1, so im not particularly bias. But the g1 is way cooler than the iphone imo.

Flash wont be an application, it'll be in an update as its a utility built into the browser (a modified version of chrome i believe).
It isnt out at the moment, but it shouldnt be long before it hits.
Just keep an eye open on digg and other news sites. :)

Adobe are excited about launching flash on the android platform (and google is VERY excited, because its something the iphone doesnt have lol).
Proof of concept is here, plus a demonstration to the as shown in this video.
I read some quotes somewhere from adobe reps. I'll dig them out some time.
Its definately coming though mate. :)
And like i say, it cant be an application because its not standalone, but then again, the g1 is awesome at integrating apps into other apps.
