Depressing to see video stores go out of business. But then again I only feel that way about the ones I visit. Theres plenty of Blockbusters I cleaned out without any remorse.
very weird to see you pull out the Marx Bros set and James Dean collection, got both of those from Warner Bros 2010 Black Friday sale for $12 a piece. They had loads of their boxsets for prices like that for a few days.
KJ I just ordered The Ninth Configuration based on your high recommendation. Looked it up on IMDB and it seems right up my alley. Thanks. Screamplay is such a great movie in my opinion. Totally cheesy but well done. Its out of print as well actually. Lol at the GPS outtakes.
I will deffo pick up "The Ninth Configuration", sir! I've heqrd about it years ago, but totally forgot to pick it up. Will try to find it for a decent price.
Just recently sold my German DVD of "Brown Bunny" for a ridiculously high price and I gotta say I will not miss it. I liked "Buffalo 66" a lot, but this one is just the dude driving around and getting a BJ from that ugly Chloe chick a t the end. Not my understanding of art. Whatever.
@LiveFastDiarrhea Thanks, man! That's EXACTLY the way I feel about the Brown Bunny. Buffalo 66 gave me hope that his next film would be absolutely awesome. And then...shit. Let me know what you think of The Ninth Configuration, I bet it's right up your alley ;-).
Man I didn't realize there were still Suncoast stores open. The one at our local mall closed down probably 6 or 7-years-ago. Hell even our FYE store closed down last year. I always liked Suncoast a lot, but mainly just for browsing as their prices were absolutely ridiculous. I did however purchase my first ever DVD in that store back in 1999...The Pinoneer release of 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'. RIP Suncoast!
I'm shocked Suncoast stayed around as long as they did. They always had high prices and they became obsolete, to me, when Best Buy beefed up dvd selection and after I discovered Amazon.
@DVDCollector079 Harry and the Hendersons, what an ego boost! Speaking of Criterions, I may have missed it on your vids, but do you own The Red Shoes (blu-ray)? That one is high on my list.
@cackalackymovies yes sir i own that technicolor masterpiece on blu :D well if its high on your wish list , ill know what to give you as a easter present :D
it makes me wonder why the hell these guys didnt drop their prices years ago, maybe if they did they might still be in business. Noone wants to pay a mark up of 40 % on a movie. Nice pick-ups on your part though. When you go out solo with out OJ do you feel more relaxed, since you can take your time and not have another set of eyes looking to take the good deals haha. I prefer to bargain hunt alone, i get so pissed when a freind finds gold hidden and im left pissing in the wind.
It's definitely hard. I got lucky with Home Movies -- it's only 4 seasons and the complete series set was on sale one week for about $60, so I was actually able to get that. However, I only have the first few seasons of all of my other TV sets (Simpsons 1-5, King of the Hill 1 & 2, Mr. Show 1, 2, & 3, Looney Tunes Golden Collection 1 & 2, ect.)
Bye bye Suncoast! someone needs to do a song called that :D
Easy Rider on Bluray, that´s not bad man. Lloyd Kaufman is a cool guy man! I have not seen Screamplay but i like the title.Grapes of wrath sour fruit man but it´s surely a good movie. The brown bunny, never heard of it,should i be a shamed ? :D
The Marx brothers collection, that seems like a nice one. Good pick ups!
Hehe..you tok a piece of the carcass with you..well memories :D
@Heavymetalrille Thanks for the kind remarks as always, man!! No, you shouldn't be ashamed of having never heard of The Brown Bunny, I should be ashamed for buying it. Lloyd Kaufman is a living legend!
You guys don't have to wear seatbelts on the highways there? Awesome!!!
You gotta get a terminator head! lol at you screaming about the "everything must go" thingy haha.. "Really horribly shitty of me" HAHA!
Love your videos man, love you recording inside the store, really interests me to see the stores over there.. And by the way.. The outro.. LMMFAO A:LAKLJ:SDLAKFJ That shit was hilarious!!!! Hahahahaha... you're freakin' awesome dude!
@steelbookaddiction HAHAHA, after all the editing, I never noticed that I didn't have my seatbelt on. I can be bad about that. It's bad enough that I'm filming myself driving on the interstate (and running on no sleep). I do NOT condone these activities. Both OJ and myself are trained professionals, so don't try this at home, kids!
Definitely check out mothers day if you can. Man I wish we still had a suncoast out here ours closed over 15 years ago. They had cool figures and collectables but movies were always high priced like tower records.
@CJMolinaTube Lol, I know, the song! Really wasn't what I had in mind for the last day. I fantasized the score from The Shawshank Redemption would be playing. Sad fantasy, Great music! Yeah, I saw awhile back that one of you guys had that Marx Brothers set, so I instantly put it on my Amazon wishlist (PROPS to you guys!). So, it was something I was on the lookout for. Do you have the Silver Screen Collection? It's going for @ 34.00 on amazon right now.
@cackalackymovies Nice! Yeah, Caitlin has that set. I don't have the Silver Screen Collection but I definitely want to get it eventually. The packaging on that one is really nice. It's pretty cool how there are great movies in both sets too.
@CJMolinaTube Lol I thought it was kind funny and weird how they were playing that Maroon 5 song too, as soon as KJ walked in. That ending was funny too!!
KJ you rule brother! The ending of this video just cracked me up! lol Nice score with The Abyss...great film! Gotta love The Easy Rider digibook! Love The Grapes of Wrath...great film! Marx Brothers boxset looks sweet, does it come with Duck Soup...a film I've wanted to get for years!!! Awesome stuff dude, but something is missing from this video....OJ!!!!!!
@puckbond007 Thanks, man! Yeah, I didn't express enough how happy I was with Easy Rider. Sadly, no, it doesn't come with Duck Soup. This is the Warners set (MGM). Duck Soup is in the Silver Screen Collection, which is one slick looking set. On sale on amazon right now for 33.49. If I didn't have to pay bills, I would be sorely tempted.
First Fye goes out then sun coast. Fye was over price and was ripping people of for year depending what you got. 16 dollars for pokemon temple of the sea used what were they thinking.
I feel your pain man. I miss Suncoast so damn much, it's like a part of my childhood past was ripped from me. Whenever a Suncoast closes, Morgan Freeman cries (and as do I...as do I).
